EMS fag here. Parents bought my son a 'little tikes' ambulance. Took the light bar off to hopefully add functioning lights off a momentary switch.

Have one of those "easy buttons" from staples. Figured it had most components to it. Just need lights.

Can you guys recommend websites, lights, switches, etc.

First day with small electronics.

First time doing a simple workbench

Beams are 14 by 4cm (got a bunch of these lying around, barely used)
Plywood is 18mm
The top plate has a 3mm steel plate beneath it(got that for free so only 18mm plywood seems like enough)

Wheels can support 100kg each, the ones used here as just a free model, I'll be using these:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00LLKQHAK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Frame will be held together with lag bolts. To secure the top I'm not sure, I don't want to drive to many screws through the top but I want it to be secured well enough and with just 18mm it seems too thin for dowels+glue.

more pics to come, all made in Sketchup.

im asking the same, putting down a 3m x 6m shed. Were only using the concrete as a slab foundation and will be building another floor on top of it. Will be hiring a mixer and pouring it ourselves.

I'm having a 4th of July party (USA Independence Day) on the beach and was wondering if there's some way I can dye my beach red, white, and blue. It would have to be temporary, ecologically safe, and non-toxic obviously. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't find anything online

Hey /diy/, I'm trying to make a new plush toy out of felt, this time of Aku from Samurai Jack after the new and last season finished. I have the pattern made entirely, but the only colour of felt I cannot find ANYWHERE at all is the mouth.

The closest I've been able to find are these 4 colours (the camera doesn't get the shade just right, both blue and yellow have a very slight green to them and the yellow is fluorescent).

I wanted to ask if you know of any methods to dull the brightness of a colour somehow without affecting the colour itself. I thought of maybe washing two colours together and seeing if they stain but I'm not sure if it's polyster of not as these are regular felt sheets bought at a haberdashery.

Any advice please? I could just take a tiny bit of artistic license but I'd rather I make an accurate plush. Might even make some money off him as I already have 3 friends expressing interest in buying one if it's good enough.

Serious question: are you color blind? because there is no fucking yellow in your pic.

Also, I would probably suggest dying the brighter one with some dark green dye. Start with some small test scraps, and different dilutions until you get something you like.

I am not colour-blind, no. I did say the camera didn't get the shade just right, it's so slight even in person the colour looks slightly different if in direct light or not. But that is a fluorescent yellow-with-a-hint-of-green for sure.

Would food colouring work? And in water? Just don't want to leave a residue on the felt since it is for a plush toy.

Would it be hard to make a syringe infusion pump? Basically it is a machine to push the plunger at a set mm/seconds rate
12 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Rig up a syringe to a stepper rotating on the end of a threaded rod like the way 3d printers handle the Z axis. That should give you relatively high-precision control over the speed if you control the amount of steps. It won't be a completely smooth injection but it will deliver consistent amounts over a given time window.

Another option might be to use a geared DC motor instead of a stepper and use an encoder to control the speed. Might be smoother but less accurate.

Out of curiosity, what are you going to use it for?

I need an accurate way to infuse intravenous substances over a few hours span. A standard iv drip isn't accurate enough and those infussion pumps cost like 3000 USD...

I have no specific purpose yet, but I want to do some experiments regarding hormones and psychoactive effects. (Medfag here, but of course I cannot use institutional resources for such experiments)

What do you think of my dream home's current draft?

As it came out of my head, it ended up looking like a fortress, revealing my PTSD.

The U shape in the back was inspired by the japanese engawa, but a U shape needs something worthwhile like a pool or a table in the middle of that little 2 meter space. I doubt the children would play there and you're hardly connected to nature tucked back there. Perhaps I should stop wasting space on this U design.

I'm worried that the blocky uniformity looks boring at its core, no matter what dressings I put on top. Ironically, this fortress looks a bit stressful, with the need for protection, rather than just being a home. It is also stylistically unimpressive.

I'm considering a complete redo, with more inspiration from Queen Anne Victorian. More varied shapes pushed and pulled in and out. Perhaps this can disguise the defense sniper tower, choke point, and machine gun roundhouse.

Could be a barbecue spot or something, but it's too narrow. Is there a way to connect it to the dining room so it could serve as an extension for a combined party space in good weather?

Is there going to be a moat and drawbridge out front? Blockiness works well with massive windows spammed all over the place like an office building. Make sure to use bulletproof glass.

Have you prepared floor plans for the basement bunker? It needs quick external tornado access but must qualify as a proper nuclear bunker. Does the garage have a loading dock for shipping containers?

Noob here, I'm trying to remove the seats in my car for a project and I'm having trouble with the bolt in pic related. It's in a really tight, hard to access place that my standard drive socket is way too big to fit in. It gets blocked by the black plastic above it.

Get ready for a horror story from one of my gayest friends.
>yesterday
>jackass girly friend has never touched a power tool in his life
>out of the blue calls and asks to borrow my drill
>says he can't get a screw out his wall
>tried using a regular screw driver, then pliers, then tried to just pull it straight out the wall
>says it's still in there and thinks a drill will get it out
>try to explain that something must be holding it in and a drill won't work
>he doesnt believe me and gets pissed off
>I drive over to look at it
>it's just a screw for a bracket that holds up curtains
>the wall around it is completely fucked
>holes around it for some reason, the wall cracking from him yanking on the nail which is mangled and almost stripped out, a gray circular scratch from the bracket being spun around and rubbing on the wall
>I use a multitool and unscrew it normally and it comes out as easy as anything else would
>he and his friends shit their pants in disbelief
>today
>calls and asks for drill again and also an Allen wrench (he didn't even know what those were called) so he can build a bed frame
>tell him furniture is almost always predrilled and comes with the tools needed
>gets pissed off and hangs up
>one hour later he has his friend call and ask me for tools
>says the drill is to save time instead of using a manual screwdriver
>I offer to come over and do it since a bedframe with two or three people would not take long to build
>he studders and says its fine and hangs up
What is wrong with people like this? I don't expect everyone to be Hank Hill, but a fucking screw and bedframe are not complicated. You think they're trying to build something without me knowing, or are they actually retarded? If I let them borrow a drill, I guaranteed it would've been fucked up. Is it normal for people to think it's a good idea to just tear screws out their wall? He's all pissed off and won't talk to me now.

The grout in my kitchen floor has been stained (pic very related).

I cleaned the mess up immediately, but the grout did not come clean.

How do I ensure that I get my security deposit back when I move out?

Any landlords here? How much do you think they will take out of my deposit for this? Would it even be worth regrouting it? Otherwise I am considering staining the rest of the grout to blend the color.
