EMS fag here. Parents bought my son a 'little tikes' ambulance. Took the light bar off to hopefully add functioning lights off a momentary switch.
Have one of those "easy buttons" from staples. Figured it had most components to it. Just need lights.
Can you guys recommend websites, lights, switches, etc.
First day with small electronics.
Underside is hollow...
Just buy a complete kit off eBay with battery pack. https://www.ebay.com/i/262842584761?chn=ps&dispItem=1&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F711-117182-37290-0%252F2%253Fmpre%253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.com%25252Fi%25252F262842584761%25253Fchn%25253Dps%252526dispItem%25253D1%2526itemid%253D262842584761%2526targetid%253D322701310020%2526device%253Dm%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D9010973%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D852954362%2526adgroupid%253D43731965952%2526rlsatarget%253Dpla-322701310020%2526abcId%253D1128856%2526merchantid%253D112138097%2526gclid%253DCjwKEAjwvr3KBRD_i_Lz6cihrDASJADUkGCa6Df7XWaduypSDWZMElxL2E3k6J_7JKy-0SsTrRH0GBoCU_Dw_wcB%2526srcrot%253D711-117182-37290-0%2526rvr_id%253D1242047284621
I do not know the age of your child but i will give you some food for thought.

Open up the easy button and post pics so we can see whats inside
What you are trying to do shouldnt be overly difficult
Also what size is the toy?
Is it like one of those cars you push around a young kid in?

I'll post the easy button tomorrow. If thread is still up.

No need to rip open your button when others already have; looks dead simple, a single sided board with the momentary in the middle and some chip on board for the sound.
I generally get my stuff from ebay.
A couple LED's,resistors and some hot glue would light it up.
For the resistor values:
1)subtract the LED forward voltage from the battery voltage to get the resistor voltage.
2)divide the resistor voltage by the LED current to get the resistor value
3)round resistor value up so you don't exceed the LED max current
Example:
battery = 9V
LED forward current = 20mA
LED forward voltage = 2V
---------
1)resistor voltage = 9v-2v = 7v
2)R = V/I = 7v/20mA = 7/0.02 = 350 ohms
3)I think 390 ohms is a standard value
If you want it to flash, look into the 555 timer.
