The grout in my kitchen floor has been stained (pic very related).
I cleaned the mess up immediately, but the grout did not come clean.
How do I ensure that I get my security deposit back when I move out?
Any landlords here? How much do you think they will take out of my deposit for this? Would it even be worth regrouting it? Otherwise I am considering staining the rest of the grout to blend the color.
Pour thick bleach on the stains and leave it for at least 30 mins.

just sit on your knees and start painting over
Maybe peroxide would work? Like Retr0bright? Steam?
>>1195120
>get a can of barkeeper's friend
>mix some with a little hot water to make a paste
>paint that shit in a thick layer on the grout
>when it starts to dry out, wet it gently with hot water
>do this for a couple of hours
>scrub grout with toothbrush
You could just stain the rest of the grout, I mean what are the odds the landlord remembers what color the grout was.

I was thinking this too, jokingly, but it actually may work. Especially if you don't own the property or care about it that much.
>>1195310
nah probably he will remember that he is a cheap ass who would never pay extra for colored grout
Block whitener. It's thickened, concentrated bleach used for cleaning butchers' blocks. As long as a stain hasn't been there for an extended period of time it'll bleach fucking anything.
it'll make the rest of your floor look nice and pretty too.
throw rug

do'h it didn't spill on rug
>>1195120
Heated bleach ought to do the trick.
>How much do you think they will take out of my deposit for this?
Wait, you expected to get your deposit back?
>mix bleach with baking soda you form a nice paste. inb4 mustard gas.
>scrub paste into grout joints with a old toothbrush.
>let it completely dry.
>wipe away to reveal nice clean grout.
>>1195120
Why don't you just paint it?
>>1195522
Also, wear a gas mask and don't touch face.
>>1195120
Steam cleaner, removes all kind of grime from grouts, it's very effective.

>I cleaned the mess up immediately
After taking a picture of your fuck up, who does this ?
Quick nigger fix: rub chalk on it.
Could easily pass as a work of excentric kitchen art. Oil on canvas?

When I move out I am going to request 225% of my security deposit

Maintenance goy here, several runs with bleach should do just fine, maybe get it real good with a toothbrush, but the landlord will just find some other reason to take your security deposit away anyways. If you really want to get retarded, muriatic acid will absolutely do the job, but please dont kys by accident.
You can get these in different colors.

>muriatic acid will absolutely do the job,
You will fuck up the tile if you get this on it.
>>1195120
Replace the tiles or paint over
>Tooth brush + Rubbing alcohol.
Now that you're drunk start worrying about more important shit, like why your bitch wife isn't home yet.
>>1196338
Naw, just water it down. Try 1:10, if that doesn't work try 1:5. Obviously don't dump concentrated acid on your floor.

Something your not telling us anon?
Fire will cleanse your sins
All the anons recommending bleach are on the right track. If that doesn't work, buy some sodium percarbonate, (you can find it in specialist cleaning suppliers or homebrew shops) make a thick paste and apply it to the grout.

A throw rug, not throw the rug. You 3rd world or something?

Threads like this constantly amaze, and annoy me. If you have stained grout, what the fuck else do you think is going to work for this very specific problem?
>Pic very related.
If you have man made tiles (porcelain, ceramic) acid is fine to use on the grout. It will eat the calcium carbonate from it and also whiten it quite a bit and get most of the staining out. If you have natural stone tiles that are anything but granite, don't use an acid based cleaner. After you clean it, use a neutralizer (alkaline to balance the pH) and get some color seal and use a tooth brush and apply it, wiping from the edges of the tile as you go. If the photo is yours in OP, you have man made so this is your best option. For the color seal, it looks like your grout is probably bone or antique white colored so match the color seal to the grout color.

>safe on colored grout
no... it won't work. op needs to paint over because the paint is deep inside the grout already. It is not superficial
>>1195120
>grout
hydrochloric acid may clean that shit
put peroxide and baking soda mixed together on it. maybe let the sun shine on it for a while if possible.
Muriatic acid
Barkeeper's Friend is your solution and it kicks ass.
