Hey /diy/,
I'm having a 4th of July party (USA Independence Day) on the beach and was wondering if there's some way I can dye my beach red, white, and blue. It would have to be temporary, ecologically safe, and non-toxic obviously. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't find anything online
Blueberries, blood and garlic powder should do the trick
WHY CAN'T IT BE NATURAL?
#brown sand matters

Look into natural fabric dyes and the mordants that you need to set them. The whiter the sand the more vibrant the colors will be. So, you can try bleaching the sand which may lighten some of the grains at least.

crush colored chalk and dust on top of the sand

Food coloring is probably the only thing you can use that wouldn't be a felony.
