if you don't want to just fire a nail or screw through it then i guess you could either screw up a steel plate or if you have steel studs might work then use a magnet to 'pin' it up

either sew loops on the top and hang on a dowel rod, or get a punch and some grommets, and hang on sticky hooks

OP: depending on the size, there's little corner clamp dealies you can get at places that sell flags. They look like a corner saver for a book.

I live in an apartment that I don't plan on staying in long so I just used 3M command strips, with a paperclip on the right side to help the adhesive since the nylon doesn't take to the adhesive as well as the cloth on the left side of the flags. The paper clips are visible but not distracting, and they don't leave permanent holes in the flag or the wall.

They're holding four 3'x5' flags and one 6'x10' one fine.

I have no furniture besides a bed and a desk, and as of recently a cheap bookcase, in a two room apartment. I got tired of having empty walls too and flags are actually fairly cheap ways to fill wall space.

I actually took mine to a framing store and had a custom frame made with glass that protects the flag from fading. It's a huge fucking flag and it took three guys to hang it. It's sewn into the backing.

just put a fucking nail or a push pin through it man. you're already hanging it on a wall instead of a pole. so who cares if you are disgracing it anyway.

no one, especially military people, give even a single shit about what you do to a flag as long as you're not doing it to make a political statement

get a dowel and drill holes in it at even intervals. sew the top of the flag to the dowel. mount or hang the dowel.

if you dont have something rigid to back it, it'll drape, and draping flags always look like shit. not even "MUH VALOR MUH MILITARY", just straight up its not as pretty as a nice taut flag.

Brass tacks is the easiest, laziest solution. I had a drill sergeant who had the POW-MIA flag pinned to his office ceiling. You could also sew in a sleeve of new material behind the top edge of the flag, slip a dowel through, and hang the dowel from hooks on either side. This is a good option for portability and letting it hang free.

Tbhwy though familia, vertical is master race. Pic related is my old barracks room, flag hung by the grommets. I still have it, folded up on my bookshelf. Blue triangle of stars looks nice, without the Jax Teller biker vibe.
