OP, the fact you and your buddy spend so much time with each others' dick in your mouth is the real problem here.

If we lived in a simulation, that'd have to mean someone programmed it.
Which means they make the "rules" and restrictions of everything inside of our simulation.
So imagine in a game of sims, say the people who made the game gave the sims the ability to go on a computer, and each time you made the Sim go on computer, the screen would either show one of 3 things in random order.
a message popling up from a friend on social media. Or the next time it would show a music player playing music, then the last time, would be a photo of a duck meme.
so if the sim could think, he wouldn't even be able to fathom there being anything greater than those 3 things he always saw on the screen. That was the whole internet to him.
Because it wouldn't be possible for there to be any more. It was programmed to be the only thing he knew.
He couldn't imagine anything better, and greater than the duck, music, or the same message popping up each time.
But it still made sense to him, cause it felt right, he didn't know any better. The thought of thousand of memes would sound impossible to him. And he was programmed for that to make sense.
So you have the person who programmed the Sims game, in our world , and we have many laws of the universe, physics, relativity, etc.
Then you have the Sim, a programmed game, who also has his own simple laws in his "universe". if you tried to tell the Sim about everything in the real world, he might not believe it.

I hope that makes sense. I had too many ideas so it might be jumbled. But yea..
