Also general Puyo Puyo thread.
Yah nigga I'm hype for Puyo Tetris too.
Puyo Puyo 2 Remix on Snes, it has a translation patch. You could also try the Fever series.
Tsuu for the MegaDrive
So, after all this years..who has the best hardware and why?
The SI like both.
>>3936453
This.
Why do you think after all these years it's still necessary to argue on which ones better?
They're both pretty fucking awesome if you ask me.
Mega Drive, I'd say. But you used the Jap version in your picture.
Alright what does /vr/ think of this game? The reason why I ask is because I kinda want to make something like it.
I still need to play this and watch the anime, is what I think.
Lain is life
I loved it, but honestly just reading the script is about as good as playing it.
I would love a game like it with more actual "game" in it. Scrambling through logs and media to wrap your head around what is going on, combined with some actual choice and consequence would be sweet.
What are some classic games in which you can explore oversized everyday environments?
GOAT
I remember this game being quite a bit of fun when I played it as a kid. Though, I WAS just a stupid kid.
CS 1.6 on that rat trap map, or whatever it was called.
lots of fun to be had exploring it in a private match.

I'm an hour and a half into this thing and I feel like there's only been 20 minutes of gameplay.
Do you people actually enjoy "games" like this?
>>3948243
Ya Metal Gear is a cinematic game. Check out the VR Missions disc, it's pure gameplay.

That feeling when you find someone so much better at everything than you could ever dream of being.
It hurts, mang.
That's the rebalanced version, innit?
>>3947670
I would rather get to meet the guy instead of just knowing he exists somewhere
>>3947678
There is no rebalanced version. You're thinking of Super David Sirloin Turbo HD Remix.
Name a better wall-walking mecha game than this.

I liked the sequel, but its not VR. Can't remember if you can make the tachikoma go up a wall.
Does Lost Levels actually have good level design, or is it on par with a mediocre romhack?

its good. i've played through the whole thing, its a lot of fun. very very challenging in the final stages though.
>>3947326
A good romhack, I guess.
It was clearly made for people who have mastered the first game. It's difficulty serves a purpose.
I wanted to share this with you. It's an article from the first issue of PC Gamer I ever owned, and through all these years it's stuck in my head. This is a feature the magazine did about the 1995 Game Developers Conference, and I honestly consider it some of the best goddamn writing I've ever read about video games. Somehow, it just perfectly captures the magic, insanity and wonder of this incredible era in game development. I hope this brings back memories for those who lived through this time, or gives some sort of insight into just how incredible the medium seemed back then.
This is the most hardcore MMORPG game ever, you need to spend a lot of time to reach high levels and skills (the ability your character has with its weapons or magic in the case of mages).
Items are expensive to buy, and everytime you die there's a chance you lose one of your items and your backpack has a 100% loose chance.
>>3946460
>Implying current Tibia is anything near hardcore
Did you even play 7.4 and pre 7.x versions? The current version is a joke where all you have to do is press hotkeys.
>Expensive items
Just buy gold, as if Cipsoft care about it
/angrytibiaplayer
>>3946493
Of course I played them, and even when today versions are anythin near the old tibia it still is pretty difficult to some people that are used just to world of warcraft and games of the genre. I know it's not as hardcore as it used to be but it still is way more hardcore than anything else out there.

The feeling when your account is 10 years old today.
I miss renting games from rental stores.
>>3946347
Really? I used to rent a ton, to try things out without buying them. But emulation has taken over that spot. What do you actually miss about it?
Damn, Mike Matei is short
>>3946347
I used to rent games from a video rental store on weekends. I still remember the tobacco smell. Those were happy times.
This thing just doesn't wan't to recognize the existence of a disc on it's spindle whatsofuckingever.
>Put disc onto spindle
>Push down lid switch
>Checking disc...
>Laser goes up and down trying to focus
>Laser can't focus, CD doesn't spin up
>Please put a disc on the spindle
Cleaned the lens.
Checked both motors and they both work fine.
Checked all the connections between the boards for continuity and they're fine.
Tried adjusting both the 4 pots on the CD controller board and the power pot on the laser itself. (Literally no change whatsoever after trying various positions.
I've tried this japanese Sonic CD, which is in mint condition as well as a bunch of music normal music CDs in multiple different CD bioses though I do not have any burned CD-R's around but I doubt it would read those if I can't get any lifesign out of it otherwise right?
Anyways, at this point i would think it's either the laser giving. Could also be the caps I guess but they all look perfectly fine to me, meaning no doming or leakage whatsoever on both the mainboard and the CD controller PCB.
Any input on this? I'd just like to be sure it really is the laser before I get a replacement. Any other things I could check? I saw someone mention the laser is also supposed to be blinking on and off when it's trying to gain focus. Anyone here who can check if that's really the case because mine doesn't blink but just stays solid until it gives up.
Forgot to mention that the genesis portion does indeed work perfectly fine.
It's the laser. It takes the same laser as a Saturn so you should have just swapped with your Saturn to check before you adjusted pots on the controller board I hope you made a note of their original positions.
>>3946072
I have the og settings of the pots and I've actually already put them back the way they were since it didn't seem to help.
Unfortunately I don't happen to own a Saturn (already read it uses the same Optima-6S) so that's not an option sadly.
Slowly but surely I'm getting the feeling I'll just have to bite the bullet and try swapping it unless someone here has more ideas.
