How do I fix this?
>>3115310
I don't remember circles around speedometer.
>>3115334
All dem trains are different, my man.
Which version is that? I'm just recalling it from memory, but I think you either need to open the door on the correct side, or you can't leave the station until the doors have closed.
how good are you at fighting games
>>3098615
I can 1cc King of Fighters '94
>>3098615
I consider myself decent.
But then again i got btfo by a 11-13 year old girl in an arcade once. The giggling from her and her friend stung like a motherfucker.
>>3098615
street fighter alpha 2 I can play all the way no losses on max.
with Katana
Now that the dust has settled, can we agree that the N64 is a piece of shit
>>3125473
I dusted earlier, theres no dust anywhere.
nah, it was awesome. Golden Eye and Mario Kart ruled the late 90s
>>3125473
We could, except for the fact that you're objectively wrong.
Nintendo didn't do so well with the Nintendo 64.
It didn't do so well the Gamecube.
It did AMAZINGLY and outsold all the systems of last gen and this gen with the Wii, which sold over 100 million units.
Suddenly, it doesn't do so well with the Wii U, and everyone is claiming that nintendo is done if the NX isn't great.
Hasn't Nintendo seen worse times in the past? Why are people pretending this is the worst Nintendo's dealt with?
After selling 100 million Wii's or more, the company seems fine.
Because it seems like they don't even have a real audience anymore. They've alienated basically everybody at this point.
>>3123524
Weren't people saying this after the N64 and Gamecube too?
>>3123524
Who would fill in Nintendo's shoes?
There has to be a few companies waiting in the wings to cannibalize Nintendo's console market.
What are some fun retro Dragonball games, /vr/?
Super Butoden 2 is my favorite Dragon Ball game period.
>>3094940
Does it have any slowdown like the SNES is infamous for?
>>3095130
no its a fighting game so it doesnt have to render a ton of sprites that slow things down. With the turbo speed enabled its fun as hell. Super butouden in OP pic is awesome too except the fastest speed on it is a little too fast haha its pretty chaotic.
Do we have a definitive reason why the Sega failed?
How could a power house able to contend with Nintendo and win in some cases immediately slip and fall because of Sony? Sony, who even worked with Sega to mess up Nintendo at some points.
There has to be more to it than that. Is the key the Saturn, or is it with the 32x and even with the Sega CD?
Is it possible Sega could have survived if they had just released a true Sonic game as a Saturn launch title?
>>3124493
They had like 3 consoles in 4 years no one gave a fuck about. Are you seriously so dense?
>>3124493
1. Saturn price. The Saturn was too expensive and it did similar things to the PS1. There are theoretical arguments that it was more powerful, but that wasn't seen in practice. If it had been an equal price to the PS1, competition would have roared.
2. The 32X. Sega toyed with the idea of the Sega Neptune for years before cancelling it and releasing the 32X for the Genesis. Even if people didn't buy it, it severely damaged Sega's reputation and definitely affected Saturn sales.
And that's it.
Being irrelevant out of an entire console generation is also what easily killed Atari. They totally missed the 16-bit/Genesis/SNES era, and by the time they released the Jaguar it was too late for them. Sega effectively entirely missed the 5th generation and by the time they released the Dreamcast it was also too late.
We've had a lot of threads on this lately.
32X, hiring Bernie Stolar, constant fights between the American and the Japanese divison in general, bad planning and some bad luck.

Damn. I'm down.
>>3123461
YES, I don't even care that it's on smartphones
I wonder if this means that translators won't even bother with the SNES version now
>>3123461
>phones
literally who cares
just bought a broken sega saturn for 25, /vr/, doesn't read discs. how bad'd i fuck up?
i'm comfortable with opening and maintaining systems, btw.
Buy a replacement laser, install. Problem likely solved.
>>3122418
probably not too bad, open it up, clean it out, try and figure out the problem. saturns are pretty brickhouse-y if you get what i mean, so the problem will probably be a simple one
I contribute to a minor gaming site and I'm undertaking a big project - a top 100 list of RPG battle music. Since I've only played a fraction of all the RPGs out there I'm looking to compile this list from as big a pool of opinions as possible. So what are your favorites?
They can be from either Japanese or Western games. They can be either turn-based, action, or tactical RPGs. It can be a normal theme or a special one which only played for one specific fight. And the only limit I'll be enforcing is only 2 songs per game will be allowed on the final list. So, feel free to give me as many suggestions as you wish so long as you genuinely believe they're among the top 100 of all time. Thanks, all.

They LOVE spoonfeeding
Do you play retro games in their native language
>Love Ganbare Goemon series
>Have autism
>Want to play every game
>Find out that a lot of them are RPG
>Autism won't let me back off
>End up playing it with an online dictionary and translate every word I find
>Do this for 3 games
>End up learning how to read japanese but can't speak or write it at all
Yeah last couple of years I've played most games in their native language.
>>3119836
what does 奈美 mean?
>>3119845
Nami.
>times were better then
>>3118373
what a fucking mess, clean it up, geez.
Carts all over the place, and I don't see any protective sleeves!
>>3118380
hop in the time machine right now and do that op!
>>3118373
>tfw somewhere out there, in some old house or abandoned building, there's still a table like this, undisturbed since the early 90s.
I pose the question to you.
...first 1 then the other
>>3118054
Neither.
>>3118060
I only have a Genesis right now. Buying a model 1 Saturn with new batteries and scart and shit is too much for me right now.
Even on the virtual console this game has noticeable input lag, anyone know why?
>>3116290
asthedevsintended.jpg
>>3116290
virtual console = emulator
You will experience additional lag if playing on a LCD display.
>>3116296
no im playing on a PVM, this game is definitely known to have more input delay when compared to other SNES games
Why did Sony succeed when Panasonic and Philips failed? What made devs and the market support the PlayStation more than the CD-i and 3DO?
The Sony brand meant something at that time.
Same reason people gave up records and cassettes for CDs.
>>3112793
sony knew what they were doing? they had just broke up with nintendo and people knew they were gonna really go for it?
Lets break this down shall we.
CD-I:
>shitty games
>shitty controller which was basically a remote control
>bulky console that weighed a metric butt ton and was larger than a refrigerator
>no original IPs
3DO:
>same shit as the CD-i; bulky console and no IPs
>gimmick ass live-action multiple choice "games" like Plumbers Don't Wear Ties
Sony Playstation
>original IPs such as Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider
>Final Fantasy and JRPGS
>Conveniently sized console
>excellent controller for its time
>played music CDs
>did the whole "video games on CDs" thing right with 3d polygons and excellent sound
