Beat my skills ,show off thread?I beat ninja gaiden in a shitty emulator with no savestates, now your turn

Apparently finishing super mario brothers on famicom at the age of 5-6yo is considered success here.Pro tip: it was the only game I played.
So there is that
>>3116896
I beat nj at the age of 8 but I didn't take a picture
I beat Kirby's Adventure.
Is Polybius real?
Yes.
But none of the folklore around it is.
>>3116673
Yes and I also think it is possible it was used as testing platform for something but not to the extent that legends exaggerate.
What are some good 3d platformers for PS1?
Have obviously played spyro, crash and croc series. Replaying this gem atm, really fun.
Gex 3
Alundra 2 (it's an RPG too)
Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time
Jersey DEvil
Glover
Tomba 2 (2.5 D)
Rayman 2

Were the guys who sealed away Enuo more powerful than Bartz' gang?
>name doesn't ring a bell
>fanfic boss added to phone ports and handheld
>"he's like ex-death but even more ex-deathy!"
I guess I'll go with Bartz's gang based on nothing more than as awful as their villain was, it was still slightly better than Enuo.

Also known as Autism: The Dungeon.
What were they thinking when redesigning the Super Famicom into this boxy piece of shit?
>muh tasteless purple and grey color scheme
>boxy and looks like a home computer from the late 70s
>you have to awkwardly *slide* the reset button up and let it click back down
>eject button sunken strangely below and between the power and reset buttons
>cartridges are fuck huge for no reason, most of it is just empty space, also look like three ugly rectangles stuck together
>buttons on the controller aren't even differently colored
The original was perfect and then they went and fucked it up.

Because Americans don't play toys, they entertain themselves.
Redesigning influenced a lot for American market.
Better question, why did they make the Turbografx-16 twice as big as the PC-Engine?
I like both!
Why did it take Square so long to get it right? Every FF fan I've ever met has agreed that FFX had the most efficient combat system of any Final Fantasy.
The rigid turn-based system allowed you time to plan out your strategy each round without worrying about the enemy attacking you over and over again like in FFVII-FFIX, and using the Battle Order display made taking out enemies in the most efficient order satisfying, and instantly showed the benefits of spells like Haste or Slow.
Characters could be swapped out on the fly WITHOUT USING A TURN. Equipment could be easily changed out in the combat menu. Overdrives didn't have to be used immediately, and could be stored until the ideal time. Yuna's Overdrive gives her Aeon instant Overdrive, and if the Aeon's Overdrive gauge is already full, it gets an instant refill after being used the first time, experienced players can use this tactic to steamroll many bosses.
And it's sad that they've never gotten it right since. FFX-2's combat system was active, completely broke the feeling of strategy from the first game.
It's kind of sad that a completely generic system is considered the best in the franchise just because it finally did away with extraneous ATB shit.
>>3116181
>generic
If you say so it must be true. Honestly the way FFX handles it is probably my favorite interpretation of the traditional turned based system, though the game has other flaws.
Anyway OP, post this thread on /v/. You fucks are whiny fags that are shitting,up another board for the sake of it. If you have a problem e celeb and news threads then maybe you should do something about it other than bringing that shit here. Its not going to solve your problem, bringing 6th gen here that is.
>looking on craigslists/ebay for SNES or genesis games
>big collection of games MUST SEE
>it's nothing but yearly sports games and shitty movie licensed games
>ragging on 16-bit sports and licensed games
underage detected.
>>3116105
Nope.
>>3116105
I grew up during that era and aside from a few games here and there like Tecmo Bowl and NBA Heat/ NFL blitz those games just sucked
I saw a thread a few days ago about the shitty capacitors and belts in the Sega CD Model 1 and how they almost always fail unless refurbished. I found a seller online that refurbishes the Model 1, but doesn't replace the capacitors. They claim the capacitors in their units are fine and clean and what have you, but I am still worried.
So I started looking at the Model 2 and am amazed at how much cheaper they are. Apparently they're highly reliable and read discs faster too?
I have a Model 1 Genesis and I think I need some heat shields and other random stuff for it, but I am seriously leaning towards a Model 2 now. Not just for the price, but the reliability. I play a shitload of Sonic CD.
Model 2s are no more reliable than Model 1s there's just shit tons more of them out there to cobble together working units out of. Sadly, all of those first wave CD Rom devices like Sega CDs and PCE-CDs are failing. Try finding a Jaguar CD or a Commodore CDTV that's still operational. Even Laseractive PACs have started needing it.
Like I said in that other thread get yourself an X-Eye/Wondermega or (I've heard) a Sega CDX if you want something with a real lifespan. If you buy a Sega CD that hasn't been recapped it WILL need recapped within the next 1000 hours of use. It's not the end of the world I know a shop that does it for $45 and there are guys who offer the service by mail on the forums for under $100. Just check into it and budget accordingly. In the case of the model 2s you can buy ones with DREs cheap and cobble them together yourself.
>>3116004
I'm not the guy from the other thread, that thread just got me curious on buying a Sega CD myself, because as a kid I played like 5,000 hours of Sonic CD.
So Model 2's are just as bad/prone to failure?
>>3116007
In my experience I'd say yes. It seems like you see a higher percentage of Model 1s in need of repair but I think that's mainly due to them being considerably rarer and most working model 2s you see are Frankenstein jobs with the non working bits just thrown right in the trash.
Like for example I only have the one Model 1 and I got it when I was working in a shop in the 90s but I think I have like four Model 2s stacked up that I just grabbed at thrift stores or yard sales for under $5 each.
I realize this is anecdotal but you can see what I'm saying. If I DIDN'T have my X'Eye I would be playing on a Model 2 and somebody might see me doing that with the Model 1 just sitting on the shelf and conclude that the 2 is more reliable when really it's just that it's cheaper to keep running.
WHAT

Hacksaw Jim behind the wheel?
This is the best intro out of any N64 game
*midi bass intensifies*
Has there ever been a remake of pic related?
I'd like to play the original but the controls are pretty annoying
To the best of my knowlage there wasn't a remake, but mother 2 (earthbound) and mother 3 sequals
Not that I'm aware of. Only a port.
>>3115853
Somewhat, there is the mother 25th anniversary rom hack with the gba translation. This is a picture of it.
My preffered verion is the gba version with the translation patch and the color restoration patch. If a music patch is ever made there will be no reason to play the nes version.
Man square was pretty pissed.
Why were they pissed off? Are you retarded? Did you mean to type out Nintendo?
>>3115807
That seems more like an ad Sony made using FF7 as an example of their hardware being superior than Square making an ad competing against such massive JRPG hits on the N64 as Quest 64.
>Hey Nintendo, we have the storage capacity to slap in tons of pre-rendered FMV all over the damn place that makes it seem like our consoles graphics are that much better than yours ya stupids.
Did Sony EVER license the CD Rom format to Nintendo? Don't Gamecube discs spin backwards or some shit? lol. Nintendo.
>ywn enjoy the light RPG elements of Monopoly 2
I mean just look how fucking comfy it looks.
Goddamn it even has an overworld
>we will never experience this man's downward spiral into depression and inevitable suicide
don't fuck with rocket sonic
Heck yeah, Sonic Chaos.
>>3115606
Rocket sonic has no method of attack, fucking with him makes him lose his rockets. What now, punk?
>>3115606
hes the fastest thing ALI-he-IIIIIIIIIIIVE
HES THE FASTEST THING ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
Made an s-video cable. Now I am in the process of making a RGBs cable, is there aywhere to buy just the connectors and pins? or do I have to buy cheap a/v cables and scavenge?
gutted a n64 rf modulator so I can fit the wires and caps cleanly.
You mean proprietary connectors like the Nintendo ones?
Got to cannibalize or buy chink specials.
or remove and replace with non proprietary.
>>3115595
You might as well just buy the cables premade.
Hi /vr/.
You know, I always saw that famous RPGs like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest and many others got a remastered version, revisited version, enhaced version, etc.
What I'm asking is: is out there a remaster for the Shin Megami Tensei games for the NES that I can play? I'm dying to try the series since the first release, I just can't handle NES rpgs, they are very rudimentary to me, maybe enhaced version fixed some hardware limitation for the time.
Feel free to make this thread a /smt/ thread if you want.
>>3115218
I think Megami Tensei only got remade for the SNES.
How retarded are you that you can't find out that much yourself?
>>3115272
because you know, peersonal experiences from people who actually played the original games and the remakes will tell me wich one is the best one to play
That's why I opened the thread. Sorry if I did not make myself clear about the topic.
