Common sealants for faceups (there are more, but these are most frequently used):
>Mr. Super Clear Flat/Matte (UV-cut is preferred)

The general population of /bjd/ are anti-recast or are pretty much neutral on the subject.
Stop beating the dead horse every thread by asking.
Not the same OP as usual, but it was time for a new thread.
Recap last thread:
>Furry dolls are happening
>Thunderstorm beards and crazy customers
And how face-up artist anon should totally stop accepting commissions
>How to get into customizing, cheap places to buy junk dolls (Mandarake and co. can be your friend)
>Elfgutz admitted on being a troll, one anon still tried to defend them
>Learn to use Flickr to find nice BJD pictures
>Yes, we still are mostly against recasts
>No, there is still no reason why someone totally needs one
>Please stop asking every thread
>Current trends in the hobby
Milk beard, glitter uke-boys with bruises and cuts, same shit as every year
>Sailor Moon dude has some serious skill
More pictures are appreciated
I added the Collectasy link for the list of companies too.
For anyone who's interested in a legit doll and still not good at spotting bootlegs, use that link first and have a look.
We don't mind answering questions, but do some basic research first.

i'm going to pretend i didnt see it.
>TFW no steven universe toys out yet besides the shitty POP!vinyls.

yeah there's a serious lack of merchandise in general, I want some figures damn it
maybe that anon in customs general will sell me a Steven >>5707179
>>5711331
I've heard rumors here and there about figures and more merch, but considering the figures are probably funko junk it may not even be worth it.
they know SJWs don't buy merch made for SJWs, so they aren't wasting time or money on making it.
Does anyone know if this shit is real? Has anyone bought from this site?
>>5851376
of course it's fake you nigger
Some of them are fairly good quality though. Some of Shen Yuan's Iron Man sets are as good as lego, and about half the price.
>>5851376
Yeah, that stuff is for real. That have it for sale all over the place in China and Hong Kong. It's not true LEGO brand merchandise. It's a knockoff (bootleg) by some Chinese company. In general, quality of these bootlegs is getting pretty good. But, it has no resale value, but real LEGO does.
Here's an example of the boxed Falcon, sold in HK. $280HK= $36 US

I really want an agent 47 figure for my collection. Which one is the best? I prefer good accessories and articulation, but I may settle for Statueshit if I have to.
Don't know what part the chair is from but I like this one a lot desu
>>5851195
I know that's Charles Xavier, but you just gave me an idea for a custom using a body from the Agents of shield 3 pack. Thanks anon!
>>5851208
And me an idea for a 3/4th one.
What's the most you've paid in latecomer tax and was it worth it?
>> pic related $130
>>5850969
I paid ~140 for a figma Ryuko for a bud.
To see him happy I'd say it was worth it, but I also saw a Ryuko in the BST for ~$70 a couple weeks later and couldn't help but laugh.
>>5850969
You didn't answer your own question. Was it worth it?

>Fuck Off Shit Taste: The Faggot's Post
OOF!
So are these guys for real?
It has to be a joke, right? Their prices are fucking retarded. The ad looks like shit, and the site looks amateur as fuck.
Smells like rip-off.

Then don't shop there.
They're legit
They have an ebay page too, lots of positive reviews

Wasn't planing on it.
The prices are too ridiculous to even consider it.
I dont have any lotr figures and I figure its about time to get one. Preferably Aragorn. But most of them look pretty shit and or expensive and they rarely capture Viggo's face very well. Does anyone know if pic is shit or not? Anyone have any recommendations?
Look at reviews and photos on the sideshowcollectors forums.
This board is full of poorfags who collect marvel legends

Shit they made toys of it? Anyone else super into that version of LOTR?
Whats /toy/s oppinion on this guy?
>>5850541
Looks like a stand up guy to me, OP.
>>5850541
I've got a bone to pick with him.
>>5850541
Looks are dead on.
Can anyone please explain to me how this fig got so fucking expensive? 1 year ago it was like 90 dollars and now it's 500-600 dollars in some places
Japanese toys of properties popular with westerners tend to result to retarded aftermarket prices, probably because price gaugers know they can get away with it with so many takers.

I'll sell you a slightly used one for $150. No box, only used for display.
Any good toy stores (import/domestic) or general shopping areas in Canada (canadian walmart, canadian tru, shopping mall etc), specifically between the US border and Vancouver? I made a thread about Seattle last time, and we have a couple extra days to spare if there's nothing else to do in seattle.
>>5850103
>Canada
>good toy retail
From what I know Ages 3 and Up has a physical store that you can go to that since it is in Vancouver I believe, everybody else is net only for the most part. I myself am a dealer in the Toronto area and a lot of them are usually online only or really small stores here and there.
>dealer in the Toronto area
Where? I'm curious as a fellow Torontonian myself. But yeah good Toy Retail in Canada is terrible. Theres like 3 stores with acceptable prices in Toronto.
>>5850349
Oh it's an online store that does conventions and shit. You would see us during Anime North, TFcon, the March Toronto Comic Con, occasional smaller shows in Mississauga and Toronto area and sometimes Fan Expo.
Helloooo!

I wish that figure cost like 1/2 as much as it did on release.

Old thread >>5847917
New Megatron.
...what.
>>5849455
To be fair, by the time G1 Megatron was
Dery-ized he didn't look like he could transform into anyting, either.
And not to sound like HURR G1, I also want to say him actually having a Fusion canon mounted on his arm is a nice addition. He may not look like any existing Megatron much, but as far as Decepticon leader designs this is a good step forward. Its not overtly monsterous like the first two movies, it looks more dignified and "heroic"(in the artistic sense of the term)
>>5849465
I mean I like it, but I also like being able to tell what the robots turn into. I guess I'm glad they're going for more humanoid designs now, but it's going to make the toys very, very shell formery. Age of Extinction Galvatron was already bad enough in that regard.
There really hasn't been an outstanding movie-verse Megatron toy yet - at least not on the same level as Revenge of the Fallen Leader Prime. I think the best we ever got was the Dark of the Moon Voyager that turned into the tanker? That's a pretty good toy.
So, uh that anon who had the headmaster head stuck in the port, how'd you get it out? Because the same thing happened to my Sentinel Prime, though it wasn't put in sideways it's just tight as fuck.
Could somebody check if fat!Barbie dress fits Ken doll? He is too muscular for normal!Barbie one, so I'm considering buying fat!Barbie just for the dress for this lovely plastic wanna be crossdresser

Why haven't I thought of this?!
Can you post results if you do this?
Anyone else thinking that this 4th quarter of 2016 is going to rape your wallet more thoroughly than any other year-end before it?
>>5849093
>no Polynian EMir, Figma Zero Suit Samus or Nendo Luluco
There's more too.
it's a damn good end year
It was already a pretty packed year to begin with, but the yen changes combined with japanese companies finally hiking prices to catch up with the last year of discounts kind of killed a bunch of my preorders. The EMS increase didn't do me any favors either. Honestly, looking at what's left I'm buying way more domestic stuff this year, which is unusual.
Oh its fucking brutal, my friend.
From October onward:
MP Beast Convoy
Robot Damashii Ingram
Nendoroid Zelda
Guyver II
Figma samus
TRansformers Legends Ginrai
MP Cheetor
SoC GoLion/Voltron
VF-31 Siegfried(Maaaybe, if HLJ comes through with that)
And more, but I'm trying to restrain myself. A lot of purchases I did early 2016 hit clearance, so I'm waiting some out.
I'm here becauae i wanted advice. I'm an artist and have always been involved in art but never crafting. Is there anyone on here who can offer some suggestions to him? He will be a birthday gift for my brother.
