One of the only two out of the first wave Deluxes where you should buy the Takara. The other is Blur.
>>
>>5847957
A mediocre deluxe mold in two waves of really standout deluxes. If you really want him sure. But Blurr, Hardhead, Brainstorm, Chromedome and Weirdwolf are all better than him. The only two that aren't up to snuff are maybe Mindwipe and Skullsmasher.

I really hope we see better treatment for The Last Knight toys than we got for AoE, because I'm really digging the new designs so far.
>>
>>5847981
Jesus anon, wave 2 has appeared in your area already?
>>
>>5847983

OK, this is more like it. While I think it's weird they remade barricade from the ground up I love the new design. The 6 arm cannons and knuckles are rad as shit. This dude NEEDS a good figure.
>>
>>5847995
I certainly hope they learned from AOE, because that line was shit. Above all they need to bring Cyberverse back.
>>
>>5847981
wait what?
there's weirdwolf and mindwipe already?
>>
>>5848004

I'm still shocked by the lack of quality from that line. The only good thing about it were the dino bots and almost all of them had curling iron arms.
>>
>>5847983
The new designs don't care about functionality, but they've added enough personality that I love it. I hope him and BB get a bunch of rivals merchandise again (and he doesn't end up toyless like Stinger)
>>
>>5848004
I think a lot of the AoE Generations line was solid to great, it was just clearly hampered by the budget.

Scorn, Strafe, both Drifts, Evasion Optimus and Hound were awesome.
>>
>>5848008
Wave 2 deluxes are out in asia, wave 2 legends are out in canada. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe4rypqM_b8
>>
I'm noticing in many toy sites like TFsource and ages3+ have individual TR deluxe figures sold out but a set of 4 TR deluxe figures still available.

Does that mean I'm stuck waiting until they're restocking all 4 figures or do they actually have the figures set aside for the 4 pack deal?
>>
>>5848018
The Generations line was fine. The line was shit because there were barely any Decepticons, no Cyberverse and the gimmickformers made up most of the line, in addition to being the same size as the Generations ones so when the Generations toys sold they were restocked with gimmickformers.
>>
>>5848020
It means you are able to buy the 4 pack.

They sell them individually because not everyone wants every figure.
>>
>>5847963
He also used to come in to Legoland all the time with the cam on. Sometimes him and Thew would be in there at the same time.
>>
>>5848015
The new designs look like AoE Prime, so expect lots of shellformers with huge backpacks like leader Prime and voyager Galvatron.
>>
>>5848036
ah okay, good.
feels good to know that I didn't get scammed.
>>
>>5847957
If you like thw alt mode, gwt him, he is pretty good beyond the obvious shellformery nature, but the shell is actually not as big as the generations mold, so get him, but he benefits from paint, so if you find him too blue, and do not have a stable hand to paint him, get the takara and consider the hasbro as sweeps.

It looks like the designers were aware of the original design, but the nods to it are too subtle.

I hope they keep the lanky arms of the original though, and I like the "aggressive grill" chest more than the one the new design has.

also the new design almost looks like TF Prime compared to the scrap metal of the first movie

Got both of the add-on packs

The weapon pack is pretty good. The 2 cannons are way better than the puny guns of the original.
The backpack for Shockwave is ok, but with the full weight of the thing, Bruticus can't handle it with one. hand.

The feet and hand pack is a mix bag. The hands work great. But the ball joints on the of the feet are lose making it hard to pose with the overall looser QC of the Takara Bruticus and the general size of the thing.
I hope if they ever brought combiners back, maybe they could do it with using a deluxe as the body with legend class as the limbs?

With that, for those who have the add-on, should I put on the head?

Do you live near a toy store in the capital? The TRU pictured is one of the few places I've seen Titans Return in. The shops nearby still have CW.

Unless you have access to a high traffic store, it's likely that you won't find them yet.

Nope, Taiwan TRUs are always slower than smaller online and mom and pop shops.
Even the fastest I saw was like one day late. Trust me, I work close by Taiwan TRU flagship store and I go there all the time.

So if online retailer is not showing them, it is very unlikely they are out.
And also, from past experience, new Tfer almost always start to sell on Thursday.

Same shit, the only way you can live across the street from 101 is within the buildings of the red circles.
Every other direction is either a shopping center, a business building, or a city government office.
In those circled buildings, even one small apartment would cost you like a million USD.
REEEEEEEEEEEEE

>>5848163 (You)
>Any good toy stores you could recommend that are fairly near my area?
Not I know of near 101. There is a toy store on B2 or B1 of 101, but I would not recommend buy from there as they charge TRU retail price and I believe the selections are getting thinner each year.
Generally speaking,
You can check with the underground shopping street under the Taipei main station. It got TFer, Gunpla, and almost latest Japanese good. You can find some good deal on Tfer as the stores that sell them deal in clearances TFer.
Ximen station is good for plastic model.
But for Tfer since I live in New Taipei, it's either online through ruten or that one shop sit of the district line under a sky bridge. A very time consuming location from where you are.
TRU flag store at Linsen is good if you are willing to pay full retail.

Then again, you should know these already if you are local.

The best transforming Optimus on the market is MP-10 Convoy, or Masterpiece Optimus Prime from 2012 (they're slightly different with the shades of red and blue, but they're essentially the same). He comes with his trailer, his little blue Roller drone, his Ion Blaster, the orange Energon axe, the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, and a tiny human Spike Witwicky. Appropriately-detailed truck mode, with cartoon-accurate robot mode, MP-10 is a beautiful centerpiece for any G1 collection.

Megatron hasn't gotten a new figure that is of the same quality, unfortunately. The old MP-05 that is also part of the Masterpiece line was a rushed job, and you can really feel it when you have him in hand.

>Marvel character
>Transformers character
Can anyone explain to me the background behind this guy, and why he seems to be in two different franchises?
>>
>>5848364
Marvel published Transformers comics.Every character they created in their licenced comics that were entirely original are owned by them.

Hence, Death's Head and Circuit Breaker are Marvel characters, and they can still use stuff from the Space Knights and Micronauts, but not Rom or most of the named characters themselves.
>>
>>5848363
Not a fan of the paint, feels cheap.
That, and I personally prefer my Death's Head a dark blue.
>>5848364
He was a character in Marvel UK. He got his own series and was in TFUK G1.
>>
>>5848364
>The character was created by writer Simon Furman and artist Geoff Senior for the company's Marvel UK imprint. Furman decided to use Death's Head in his Transformers stories, but believed that characters appearing in Transformers "were prone to be absorbed into that title's catchall copyright"[1] (allowing Hasbro to contest their ownership) and led to a one-page strip titled "High Noon Tex" (which was subsequently published in various Marvel UK titles) being hastily created to establish Marvel's ownership of the character

pretty sure that's just a prototype, the figure hasn't been released yet to my knowledge

also Death's Head II was never involved with the Transformers from what I remember so makes sense why he's green
>>
>>5848372
I meant this colour than II, specifically

But yeah, oh well
>>
>>5848360
Well, I know they weren't well liked by many Transformer fans, but I just prefer them a bit. They felt blockier than the way everything's so round and blended.

But like compare the two Barricades. Yeah, the original was pointy as fuck, but he still was very simply laid out: hood chest, car side arms, rear end legs. New Barricade has those elements but they're just blurred into the mesh of car parts and metal lumps and doesn't look like much of anything.
>>
>invite people from fansites to TF5 set
>so those same people can piss and moan for the next year
For what purpose?
>>
>>5848419
Advertising. They want people to know there's a fifth one compared to AoE's lack of production marketing. Either they want people to know that they're making this differently than the last or that they're trying to make some noise for whatever reason/
>>
>>5848423

Except that they're not.
>>
>>5848424
New writers, Bay's done three live streams in the set.
>>
>>5848315
I think all the 1988 Headmasters are getting released next year, with comic accurate heads (so Loudmouth on Nightbeat's body). But that's just a rumour.
>>
>>5848367
Nope, wrong again. Any character that debuted in a TF comic was deemed belonging to Hasbro, hence why comic only characters like Sentinel Prime or Straxus can get TF toys.

Deaths Head and Circuit Breaker however debuted in Marvel owned comics first; CB in a single panel in Secret Wars 2 and Deaths Head in a single page comic put at the end of several Marvel UK issues. That's why Marvel can lay claim to him, he was there "first."

I don't know what you mean by that, but the Earth Wars team does their designs independently of Hasbro. For a lot of the designs, they look at different versions of the character and take cues from them.

It's possible that they had access to the TR design, but they also took inspiration from the original G1 toy, and probably the MP.

He doesn't hate them he just holds them to the higher standard of the Hasui era MP's. He loves 3P mp because most of them harken back to that era. That and he has a hard on for paint.

what irritates me more than hasbro's decline in paint apps per figure is the decline in plastic colours. Titans return only seems to like using 3 plastic colours for each deluxe. makes the lack of paint stick out like a sore thumb, because their damn figures need more paint.
>>
>>5848596
The best part is that it only seems to be the non-headmaster figures that suffer this considering their simple color palette means that they don't particularly NEED much paint.

Then again some bumblefuck put Skullcruncher's entire torso on the pink plastic sprue instead of, say his shoulders, so the paint seems to be on a bare minimum basis.

So, WHAT is the deal with legends astrotrain?

It has the same release date as the other december releases, so why did they hold it back?

Would this imply they're struggling to repaint it into a meaningful g1 accurate homage, or could they be retooling him somewhat?

Thoughts or theories?

You are most likely correct, design over intentions.

Still, gotta admit going from an old locomotive to one of the more innovative methods of transport is nice, its still carried out in the current hasbro versions although its a diesel train front carrying a railway cannon

I see. Hmm, well, I'll have to get the toy first. It's so cheap AFAIK I might get one anyway and just keep it as is if I like it.

I dunno, this KINDA looks like a boat, right?

I wonder if there's people out there that are big enough spergs to get mad when a leader class toy isn't of a character who's a leader.
>>
>>5849022
In the TF fandom, there are enough spergs who are big enough spergs that if you can imagine something someone might get upset about, a sperg out there has already been upset about it for a while.
>>
>>5849022
>I wonder if there's people out there that are big enough spergs

The answer is always yes.
>>
>>5848342
>We don't have that many headmaster characters left

Actually the amount not done is more than what is currentely in the line.
>>
>>5848652
Nah, you're just too stupid to get it.
>>

Was Leader first named in Cybertron? I guess that would have made movie Brawl the first non-leader Leader class? I do seem to recall people "complaining" but I think it was all in jest. But as others have said, yes, there definitely is someone out there spergy enough.
>>
>>5849063
Leaders Class first surfaced during Energon, and was truncated to Leader during Cybertron, which also contained the first non-leader Leader; Metroplex.
>>
>>5849100
Metroplex was the leader of his own planet at least.

For those who order on amiami regularly. If I preorder something; how do I combine that with an in stock item?

Do I have to combine with an in stock item the month the preorder releases, or can I do it earlier as long as it's in stock?
>>
>>5848063
So given Topspin's transformation type, we're either getting a scourge remold or another blurr (or a massive doublecross retool). Considering the feet flip transformation could be reused for a misfire, we could see a new mold.
But Kup?
I've got no fucking clue.
I don't see how they could reuse any of the cars (blurr, chromedome, hotrod) and get anything that remotely looks like a truck. Even a heavy scourge remold would run into transformation problems that would generally eliminate it.
Are they going to pull something crazy out of no where, like a total remold of hardhead, in reverse, or are we going to get a whole new mold?
>>
>>5848063

I actually own the Revo figure because I fucking LOVE ZOE and it's mecha designs. To answer your question, the coffin mode is made of Ardjet's two big, solid plastic wings, and two plug in pieces. All you do is sort of smush all of her limbs against her body, bring the wings around, and plug on the face and a midsection plates.

Really fun figure, excelent articulation and the transformation if very intuitive and fun to play with. You can get a lot of poses out of this guy.

Podcast rumors said Kup would be a new mold. Wouldn't be surprised if they retooled it into Crosshairs later.

So I got a Universe 2 Dinobot at some comic shop today. He's missing the sword/missile and a dino foot but he was like 2 bucks so I'm not complaining.

Maybe I'll make him a little peg leg.

Well, it's not really a transformation, like I said. At best it's comperable to a shellformer with partsforming atop. How well one would work being repainted, that depends totally on your own painting skills.

Even Walgreens' Brainstorm. What kind of voodoo is this?
>>
>>5849256
Well I have quite a bit of experience painting 40K models, though that's all by hand. That said I understand the technique of airbrushing quite well (masking, priming, THINNING YOUR PAINT etc) but I have very little actual airbrushing experience, and really I need to buy a new airbrush (and one of those porta-booth things).

I am quite a competent modeller though, and I have a friend who's great at 3D modelling and has a Shapeways shop (GlauG is his handle) so with any luck once I have my airbrush setup, finish my Megatron and I source a cheap Ardjet (which should be easy) I'll give it a go.

My plan would be:
>3D print 5mm compatible hands and a new head
>Order one of Fakebusker's bigger weapons as a surrogate for her multi-rocket-pod
>Do some modelling magic to make the space coffin dildo look more like a space boat
>Disassemble, prime, paint

She'd make a pretty neat female Sweep actually.
>>
>>5849275

Yeah, she is pretty cheap usually, so is the Vic Viper. Most of the ZOE ones are except Anubis usually, and probably only because he comes with the funnels and such.

Perceptor out of Blaster/Soundwave is possible too. Soundwave already comes with a shoulder cannon, and making Perceptor a base would be great.

>>
>>5848611

If Quake isnt a redeco of Hardhead, maybe he's a new mold?

Now if they do that, maybe a Deluxe Megatron would be possible
>>
>>5848611

Nothing mentioned, but the trend in this line seems to be that everything in a particular series gets made

- All first year Headmasters are confirmed

- All three original Decepticon Triplechangers are confirmed. Rumor is of a Broadside. Could Springer and Sandstorm be possible? THose two would likely be remolds of each other

- With the Titanmasters all of the Jr Headmasters have been made except Hosehead. This suggests a possibility of him being made too, if the tread continues.

- Doublecross is confirmed and Repugnus is rumored. Could a Grotusque be coming?

Hot Rod, Blurr, Kup, Galvatron and Scourge suggest a Season 3 premise. We got Magnus and Cyclonus last year. That could suggest an Arcee
>>
>>5848704
>>5848696

If Topspin is a new mold, there's no way a Twintwist wouldnt happen.

As stated before it seems like they going according to themes, and some themes have been confirmed to be completed in time. Like year one Headmasters

I cant help but wonder if a Battletrap is coming
>>
>>5849157

If Rodimus and Blurr are any indica, I imagine Kup will be a new mold, too. This would likely get re-used. Either as Orion Pax or a Deluxe scale Optimus Prime to go with a Deluxe Megatron made from Quake

1) it's a new mold. so you can stop with the deadend meme. Deadend is still dead-end since Chromedome is mostly based on him.

2) it's a deluxe

Got these little guys at Target this morning. There was also one Loudmouth, but I wasn't feeling it, so I left him for someone else to discover.

Just two pegs of Titan Masters little guys. There was also a couple pegs of CW deluxe dregs, a peg of CW Legends, and a bunch of RiD one-steppers hanging there all forlorn, knowing nobody will ever love them.

I've only just begun collecting Transformers so don't tear me to shreds guys,

Are KO Masterpiece worth purchasing? They're inexpensive and Prowl in particular looks nice.
>>
>>5849944
Most of the KO MPs are quite good in quality. Some will claim they're identical. I've only got the one, and it's a step below regular MPs, but only just below, not very far.
>>
>>5848449
How much did you pay for it, friend? TFcon had the regular ones but $50 CAD per set
