Hey /pol/? We got something for ya....

Not like Hasbro put in any more effort on the 50th anniversary line. Couple new bodies with a shitload of repaints, and some 80s vehicles that still had their large ankle pegs unchanged. No advertisement or hype, either. And most of that TRU shit can be found on eBay for less than retail now.

Club exclusives are just overpriced repaints for the "fans" who have invested their entire lives into the brand and can't say no, because getting an update to every character at any price is like crack to them.

A hundred short of half a grand for a custom of one figure with none to a few hands for accessories? Where are the chumps that pay this much for such low quality?

I used to pay someone to paint Gundam model kits for me. Can't remember how much I paid, maybe like $50 plus material costs and shipping.
Worked out fine until the final haul I sent him. He had it for a long time and told me he had a girlfriend and was in the middle of moving but he planned to get back into it in a while. Never heard from him again.
Alex, if you're there, just give me my Gundams. I don't hate you for having a life. ;_;

Seems like it but I just can't see how, we'd already had several transactions and he had previously had way better stuff he could've kept. He even sent me pictures of the stuff he'd done so far, then it got quiet for a while and I got an email back after a long wait and then he just dropped off the face of the earth.

Store Locator says it is. Last I checked my Hastings was only taking 20% off of figures, but now that everything is officially 30%-50% off it may be time to see what's left.

I went to my Hastings on Saturday and they had slim pickings. Two SHF SSGSS Vegeta (still marked at ~$54.99) and a bunch of blind boxes of everything.

There were POPs for miles, though...

Does the pledge with future bottle look like this now? I'm not sure which one to buy, they don't say 'with future' any more. Yet when I google, Walmart is selling this bottle advertising 'with future'

Speaking of, what the hell was the first person that used this thinking?
"Yeah the hips on my transformers are pretty loose, I should put some floor polish on it"
It's like the first person that smoked
"I'm going to take this plant, put it into a leaf, light it on fire and inhale it"
Like what??

you could just buy clear acrylic paint you know. same thing just that you'll have no doubts about the contents.

>what the hell was the first person that used this thinking?
First person was probably a modeller who noticed the acrylic content and thought that it would be a cheap and easy source of clear paint.
>>

>Does the pledge with future bottle look like this now?
Yes.

Y'know, people use it for more than loose joints. If you dip transparent polycarbonate plastic in it, it fills in the microabrasions and makes plastic "windows" look much more clear.

So that happened! I bought Satsuki Kiryuin from KLK on Amiami. It had arrived in my country in 1 March, but it didn't had any other info on the tracking register, only that 14 days after it was released from taxes and was on the way. I asked amiami after one month of delay, since the post office here in Brazil says that they only investigate delays after that period. Amiami then said that they were investigatinf along the japanese post ofice. the last response I got from them was this:

"Hi.

We are sorry to make you wait.

We received a reply from Japan Post today, and they are currently waiting
for the postal service in your country to finnish their investigation, unf
ortunately the postal service in your country did not provide any more det
ails, but as soon as they reply to Japan Post they will continue to proces
s your case.

So please give it a little more time, and if we receive any new informatio
n we will contact you again."

So guys, what should I do? Did this wahppened with you too? Can I ask for another action figure?

is it just me, or was the initial release of Combiners Optimus Prime by Hasbro was a hasty cashgrabbing method for them ?

I mean look at that standing pose, splitting it one hinge away makes it look too far away.

Also, the paintjob quality's going down day by day. I don't expect a premium paintjob for something within this price range, but still.

Also, anyone who have this figure and have done some repaintjobs, or tweaking to make it look better ? Would love to take some cues from it.

>Less than $200
>18'' tall
>Looks nicer than the Hot Toys and 3A versions
>Comparable to the nearly $1000 Ultimetal version
>better than the MP-10 for that matter

Only catch is that it's nearly all plastic. Still, its pretty damn nice. The Hot toys one looks bland and the 3A one looks confused between the Obari style and weathering. I know there's some apprehension about non-transforming Optimus figures, but this really sold me.

Any other times a smaller/new company managed to beat bigger/more established ones like Hot toys and 3A, for cheaper?

>comparing a non transformable figure to MP10, which transforms and needs to sacrifice for it
Don't go full retard, op.

Also 18" is way too big to display him with anything, man. Fuck that
>>
>>5861722
He'd make a nice centerpiece for a collection, though. I think in that regard its nicer to be a casual fan of some franchises. You can get the biggest and better looking version of a thing from that franchise without needing to worry about it matching up with other figures or needing other things to go along with it. Like I want a Hot toys 1/4 Iron Man, but don't really like other Marvel movies so just having the one would be nice.

It looks no better than MP-10. Pass.

Has anyone else picked up any of these? It's basically a 5 inch light saber that lights up! There's an absolutely tiny LED in the hilt, and what must be a minute battery.
It's a little tricky to get the on-off switch working, and I can't imagine the battery will last for too long, so I'm going to figure out the characters and poses before I turn it on again and take photos.
I also got a blue one, and Kirito is first in line for that.

i got one (green) and while i liked the light up effect it seems like its too expensive (10 bucks if i remember correctly).
It comes with some in-articulated hands and eight blades.
I dont think the battery will drain too fast, its a led - those things last forever, i wouldnt worry.

So yeah, fun but a bit expensive. If it were 5 dlls i would totally go for it. OR if it had two hilts.
>>
>>5861576
where does the battery even go?
>>
>>5861881

It's already inserted into the metal hilt and is non-removeable, so once it's dead, it's dead jim.

Does it actually transform? How about talk?
>>
>>5861027
Yes, and yes. It also connects to an app and gives crime coefficient ratings to people you point at, while transforming to the appropriate mode.
