anyone hype for this mofo?
>>5838487
Shiiiiiit. I would be if I could afford the damn thing. $300 for a 7" tall figure is just too rich for my blood, even if it IS a beautiful figure with great engineering.
I mean, at first we could say, "Sentinel is a new and small company, that's why their prices are high!" But now they're growing bigger and bigger and getting increasingly more high-profile licenses. I think at this point they simply refuse to back down from the price points they've set for themselves, and in fact seem to be trying to push the limits of how good of a toy you can make with no budgetary constraints whatsoever.

Not terribly fond of the linings all over it, but that is still a damn fine Kaiser. and holy shit, those proportions. Are there any other Mazinkaisers this beefy?

>300
Plus, with the Getters being reissued, there's just too much shit on my plate
Post your custom projects here; mods, fixes, repaints, dios, effects parts, accessories, 3D printed stuff, or whatever else you're working on.
Offer tips and advice, ask for help, post tutorials/guides, and have fun!
Here's some tips from the previous threads:
Beginners: practice on cheap figures first.
For sculpting on figures: use 2-part epoxy putty like Aves apoxie or fixit.
For tools: try a basic carving/sculpting set like the kind arts & crafts stores have, and calipers for symmetry.
Dental tools have also been said to work well.
Also, using a Dremel is recommended. Minimites (the small $20-25 ones) are fine for starting out, but the battery life is poor. Upgrade to a corded one only if you want to get deeper into customizing. They are useful for stuff outside of the hobby though, so it's a good investment regardless.
For paints: use acrylics. Paint in multiple, thin coats. Brands like Vallejo/P3/Citadel are recommended, because of pigment quality.
Use a sealer when finished to protect your work. There are matte varieties and sealers that give a glossy look. As with painting, use multiple thin coats.
A flex shaft attachment on a Dremel is a godsend and relatively inexpensive. The grinding shield is also pretty useful, but you can improvise one using a cut open soda bottle.

>that would actually be really helpful actually.
Alright, I'll make it saturday or sunday.
About to do my first custom. It'll be a bulkier black panther. I'm not sure about including reaper's cape but I'll be using the tiger shark body. I'll put on my BP head once it arrives in the parcel.
Any tips for a first time customized?
I guess you guy would be the right place to ask.
What are the Eaglemoss Official Starship Collection models like? They tend to retail for about $20 USD, which seems a little steep for a small model and a booklet unless the model is totally die cast or something.
>>5835529
They're partially diecast.
They are the best models you'll ever see at this price/size.
I've collected Furuta's, MM's, and NECA's, and they're all cheapshit compared to Eaglemoss's.
The paint and detail is exact and they keep the diecast to the minimum because of that. You can notice where the diecast and plastic meet though, as the paint is a bit too thick over the detail, making the sculpt appear too mushy compared to the plastic parts. Still, that detail and paint is finer than you see on other minis.
Did i mention they're almost twice as big as the other lines? Clear plastic is also used when appropriate, which is a huge plus.
It feels dainty though, like a real model.

Are the large ships in scale with eachother? Like the various Enterprises?

First for Hobgoblins reference.
MH General is finally back on track.
Found a better picture of Silvi, I hope she gets a basic release, she has a lot of potential to be super cute.

How awful, looks like someone bleached Clawdeen.
Dumping some cute sewing patterns, feel free to contribute pics of any of your /toy/s in clothes you made/bought and your favourite patterns/sewing tips.

With the arrow I thought it was from Duke nukem but it is not.
Looks sorta like bebop from tmnt
OP, if you can find a manufacture's mark on it, then us toy wizards can work our magic.
I'll give you a freebie at least. That werewolf guy, bottom row, second from left. He was a Halloween promo toy from Taco Bell in the early 2000's. He came in a fake crate box that he could burst out through. He's pretty awesome for a kid's meal toy. They don't make'em like that anymore.
The gold faggot looks like he is from the batman animated series
It makes me so sad when I see that. I believe that dolls have emotions.
>mannequins too expensive
>hang toy dolls from the ceiling with metal wire nooses instead
Cripes. That's not creepy.
>>5867317
>metal wire
Coat hanger wire stands are always the best way to display toys.

You can join them if you want?
Anyone getting a Mr. Zucchini Head? He comes with a little hat and a pair of shoes.
He's hip! He's green! And he dances!
Check it out!
im sorry anon but your thread sucks
fingerbox was a fail too

the irl version of this is that nimbus 3000 that vibrated. I love that lack of foresight
this board can really use one. to answer common questions from
>fixing loose joints
>best places to buy
>opinions on brands
sometimes people forget things and ask but you guys think they are shit posting
The mods are huge faggots that care more about someone being called a sandnigger than making sure /toy/ is a more useful board.
I don't think /toy/ is active enough to really warrent a sticky. I'd be great, but I doubt it'll ever happen.
>>5865773
we tried
it failed miserably because of shitposters
>TFW the designs are juuuuust different enough that these look like knockoffs.
Not even one good thing can come from that show, apparently.
The ones with the twisting "moving eyes" are all broken still in box at TRU. Who even designed them?
>>5865458
these look ok for 7$. id be more impressed if they could stand on their own and still do a flying pose
>>5865515
The ones I saw all worked.
As to the toyline as a whole, it looks like any that weren't 2D cutouts are mostly based off the old assets, thankfully. I'd have liked if Utonium had a cylindrical head, that way from straight on it'd look 'square', but the PPG and Mojo all look good. Shame about the show being absolute dogshit.

I think they're usually a solid plastic with flocking on top for the fuzz. You can find these at toys r us, claire's, sometimes at gas stations too.
They're literally just keychains? Anon you have a link and everything how are you incapable of finding them?
Am I missing some obscure meme here?
>>5865538
bruh
>i cant find out what they r c alled/made out of
Did anyone else get the best bundle?
Or were you hoping takara would reissue theirs instead?

I like the new Galvatron way more than I thought I would. All he needs is some upgrades from Shapeways.
>>5865095
He's already up for PO on BBTS.
You knoe what needs...anything?
Funko POP! amirite.
>>5865018
generic fantasy designs? oh boy
might as well buy mythic legions for that
Dankest chewpop vinyls coming~
I know next to nothing about toy collecting but I'd like to get a spider-man figure.
Nothing to fancy, just something that will look cool on my desk.
I thought about getting this one on ebay for 20$ but I want to know if there's anything better I should consider first.
>>5864845
its probably fake, is it from China?
>>5864854
Yes
>>5864845
you looking for posability? there is the revo that should be going up for preorder soon or you could just get whatever hasbro has out right now.
