So, a game I was in went south when two Players decided to go full retard; they both moved their characters randomly (making it difficult to tell if they had triggered traps), one went murderhobo and nearly killed a character the rest of the PCs wanted around (and was stopped by said PCs), and the other is such a downer at the table and shit talks everyone so frequently it's pathetic.

It clear to both of them that they're going to reap the whirlwind pretty soon, since I made it abundantly clear that I was getting sick of their shit, but the players are sticking together so much that targeting one normally means targeting them all.

I don't want to outright murder the characters, but I do want to make life a bit more difficult on them. One of them plays, basically, a tank, and the other plays a ranged type. Both are pretty broken, mechanically speaking, but not impossibly so.

>move randomly
>hard to tell if they trigger traps
Explain this.
>>
>>43053649
I'd assume he means they took a convoluted route running around the map, meaning that any individual pressure plates might not get triggered, assuming a grid.

Of course, the simple solution is to just lie and say the trap was there all along, and punish them for sprinting zigzags through a dungeon.

So, when I make dungeon layers, I make multiple pathways through certain areas; one or two paths have traps, and one doesn't, normally. Basically, it allows the players to quickly move through areas in the dungeon if they bother to remember which path is without traps.

An example, albeit simplified, would be two parallel paths that have the same destination; one has spikes, and the other doesn't.

The chucklefucks, last session, flat-out moved their characters where the halls recombine rather than just move in small increments down a specific path, like I asked them to. This is the first time they've actively ignored what I've asked from them, though, but it rustles my jimmies.

Or am I being an overly sensitive faggot?

Would you play in a game that was kind of Mouse Guard meets Rendezvous with Rama?

Basically, a colony ship built to human scale and of questionable origin, populated by intelligent mice or other such creatures.

I'm still thinking about the details, but I'm thinking the backstory would probably be something in a Stephen Baxter style, where the inhabitants were originally humans/humanoid aliens/whatever and reengineered themselves into tiny creatures in response to a societal collapse in order to survive.

>>
I would play the shit out of that. Have the humans who ran the ship degenerating due to some horrible radiation that also started making the lab rats smart. Lab creatures escape and start to form social groups over generations, the humans become lumbering monsters manning the ship through hideous rituals they no longer understand that take place in the background while the forming tribes of smart-mice scavenge and explore the ship.
>>
>>43052934
>One human not only survived, but became even more intelligent and strong.
>He attempts to figure out how to redirect the ship while coming to terms with the rest of the ship going mad.
>Due to the lifespan of mice going from one to five years, he becomes known as the Griever over the course of a decade, and is slowly becoming more and more unhinged.
>He sees the mice acting strangely as signs of his madness, and seeks to destroy them as a result.

You are on a trip in the amazon jungle. It's your hard earned vacation after even harder laborious years that you've been planning on going for quite some time. As you are wandering through the jungle alone to feel the spirit of adventure and partially because you couldn't find a good guide you find yourself in a dark place, for the clear path was lost. Said dark place is a cave that you fell into through a hole while trying to find your way through the dens foliage back to the civilization. The entrance is too high up so you decide to find another way out. After all you have seen so many survival shows it seems to be no more difficult that tying your shoes. Turns out you also remembered that in this particular area the cave system is really complex. It seems that you are lost and destined to die here all alone... Suddenly you hear a sound of flowing water and with renewed hope you rush towards it through a small entrance full of cobwebs that somehow gives you the feeling that your live may change forever. As you exit the small passage you find yourself upon a small underground hill with protruding ledge. Below runs a small stream that might finally lead to civilization. What instead grabs the most of your attention is something truly and and unbelievably unreal to your human mind (pic related). This is one of those turning points of life that many people and some nerds that you know of would give more than their secret ''stash'' for.

>[Do you follow the stream and find your way into the closest human settlement?]
or
>[Do you proceed to examine the alien craft?]

Please note that this is my first attempt at questing. Some things might be lacking so please cut me some slack and help when you think it's necessary

Don't listen to these idiots, OP.

However, good quest threads give the players motivation right out of the gate. There's nothing dangerous or pressing about this situation. Start with a fight with an NPC or a wild animal or a flood or something.

Hi people of /tg, I come here in peace to ask guidance.

I would be the DM I think, and at the moment I have only one friend to play with. So maybe something that can be ejoyed by one player only.

>Which is the best RPG system to start with?

That depends, although all RPG's have the elements or roleplaying, world building, combat and dice roll, each RPG, at least those i know of have a focus point, while one is more focused in roleplaying, other is more focus in combat, reaching from small parties to even grand armies and other focus more in rolls to help GM's build they're own worlds. The easiest would obviously be one that focus more in what a GM want from a section. But if anything fails Everyone Is John is a great RPG to.

I'm trying to make one of my players think they might be turning into a werewolf but they really only got bitten by a normal wolf.

Any ideas on notes or little hints I could give them that would make them think they are?

Also things that could happen that would lead the party to believe there is a werewolf amongst them?

Or how about just a general werewolf thread? Dnd pathfinder Nwod whatever.

They wake up frequently without clothes and there's especially savage murders nearby on occasion is a good one, especially if it comes with massive headaches on the part of the PC afterword.

Frequent loss of temper or excessive hair growth is good too, combined with bursts of remarkably strength they otherwise don't display or have.

The best part is both can be pretty easily explained away by other stuff; the headaches and waking up naked could be explained by somebody spiking their water or food with really potent drugs or alcohol that sends them on benders and gives him hangovers.

The body hair, anger, and strength could be spiking food or lacing drink with some kind of testosterone-based steroid.

Nice nice. Yeah I can definitely do the headaches and such!

One idea I had was him waking up with feathers in his hair and the group finding out a local chicken coop got roughed up by some dogs last night.

I need your take on this /tg/.

Five very rich kids go to spend a weekend in family mountain lodge. During the evening two bears barge in, but our PC hunter is nearby. He rushes to the scene, shoots one of the bears, while the other one kills one of the kids and takes another with him to his lair. PC hunter follows the second bear, kills the bear, saves mauled kid.

How do rich parents of mentioned kids react?

What do you guys think of this in an RPG? My friend and I always played paired characters, like brothers or just really good friends, when I wasn't forever DM. Sometimes our characters were really silly. Like two troll brothers, one a bard-barian, the other a Spirit Shaman in 3.5. There was the time we were reclaiming our family honor by killing the BBEG since one of our family was working for him.

I've seen these character types get a lot of hate within some groups, but I personally love them. Right now I have that same friend and another one of our friends playing some Jojos, and I give them inspiration (5e) for just being hilarious with their antics. Then they can use their inspiration to take a team attack with advantage, for roleplaying sake. The higher one in initiative just delays to the other ones turn.

Again, viewpoints. Are they fun? Or would you rather them not be in your game, even if they aren't being disruptive to the game/group? Pic mildly unrelated.

>Again, viewpoints. Are they fun? Or would you rather them not be in your game, even if they aren't being disruptive to the game/group? Pic mildly unrelated.
You don't get to play in my campaign if your character does not have at least a mild connection to one of the others. It's an amazing way to sift out That Players since it allows for a sort of covert IC council that ensures nobody is TOO much of an odd one out.

For example, you'll actually have to justify why your Paladin's travelling with an Abyssal-blooded Warlock, and said player has to agree to the justification. If that ain't working, you ain't playing.
>>
It is a good thing, so long as your not up your own ass about it. Sometimes people make dumb inside jokes that go on too long and amuse no one but themselves, or use the power of two to shove the game into dumb directions for their own amusement.

Also, don't do it with the same guy, that's boring. Ask another player to make a character with you, see what different kinds of relationships you can have other than 'bro with real life bro.'

>>43049747 is right in that it can filter shitty players out, though, if they refuse to have any connection with any other PC.
>>
>>43049612
Nothing wrong with that. It even helps to tie the group together.
I'd say even romance between characters is fine, they just shouldn't go overboard. I know I had this one couple in my game who couldn't stop flirting 24/7. It was annoying to everyone... I also had a romantic couple in another game that were very subtle and tuned-down and everyone was fine with it. Some other players even got interested in their relationship and tried to overcome problems their relationship might face. It was very nice.

We had a bard villain who managed to outsmart a goddess by navigating through a trap realm she made, and became her lover. It was kind of cool because the goddess wasn't evil, just unaware that the bard was abusing the gifts she gave him, and the power he got from sticking his dick in her.

Friend Computer wants you to remember that Nomads are drains on society, willing to lure innocent young minds in with promises of genetic abomination furry sex cops, anarchy, and space-pot.

Report all Nomads to Aleph, for a brighter, safer tomorrow.
>>
>>43026413
On that note I am a young-ish mind that has been lured into this particular wargame by the lore and aesthetic of the Nomads. Particularly the Mobile Brigada box.

I want to build my very first infinity army consisting of five linked Mobile Brigada (HMG, Missile launcher, Hacker, LT, Boarding Shotgun), a Jaguar, an HMG Intruder, a FO Alguacil, a Daktari+zondbot, and a Tomcat Engineer.

I'd link to the list, but the official army builder seems to be down this evening. So please trust me when I say that it totals out to an ITS legal 300points 6SWC and 10 regular orders with one AD troop.

Questions:
>Are people alright with proxies? (I intend to proxy the daktari and jaguar with the Nomad starter box alguaciles, proxy Carlotta Kowalski as a standard Tomcat engineer, and use the Grenzer sniper as an HMG intruder stand in).
>Is this list functional and would it be too difficult for a newbie like me to learn?

Hey /tg/, i'm making a tbs game in a scavenger world/scrap punk setting, where the inhabitants are several generations into mystifying the old world technology.

What are some inspirations i can draw from when dealing with the user interface? I'm looking for things like circuit boards drawn on parchment as flourishes, console fonts scribed in calligraphic ink, mixed with occult stuff like tarot or ouija board designs, to deliver the point that whatever's left of high technology is just used as religious iconography, embellishments and decoration.

Got any rulebooks or similar things with this kind of aesthetic?

Sup, /tg/, been thinking of doing something Fallout-related and was wondering if there were any good ideas any of you had out there for Vaults. I had a concept of a few random number tables that would dictate the Vault's location (within the Thirteen Commonwealths, possibly Canada, though I don't know if any Vaults were built there post-annexation) and its experiment.

I'll start us off with a couple ideas I had:

>Lawbringer Vault: A vault populated primarily with members of Law Enforcement and their relatives, stocked with exhaustive libraries on the criminal justice system and an extremely large surplus of alcoholic beverages.

>The 'Red' Vault: A Vault comprised of exactly 999 Slavic-Americans and One Anglo-American to be appointed as Overseer. At exactly twenty-five years into the Overseer's tenure, a message would activate in his terminal, urging 'Comrade Russovsky' that the time for revolution has come and that the capitalist overseer must be killed, immediately followed by a sheepish plea for the Overseer to disregard the message. The experiment is to see the effects of a leader dealing with a populace he has known for a long time showing hints of being something he cannot trust.

>The Americana Vault: A Vault stocked to the brim with everything that makes America American, with flags and iconography virtually every surface. Every single holovid is American propaganda, every book is American history or fiction with thinly veiled nationalist messages. There are no globes, only maps of America labeled 'The Only Place That Matters'.

Have any ideas of your own, /tg/?
