_______________
A few weeks have passed since the Stinkhorns revealed themselves. They have integrated well with the rest of the clan, and seem to be doing okay. Many of your people are wary of their presence, however. Their tentacular appendages have a tendency to snatch at things and slap those who stand too close. And their magic abilities are wild.
The first incident happened the night they were born. One of the Stinkhorns managed to start a fire in your oldest structure, the mud granary. The detritus was turned to ashes, and the Bronto meat was seared. After moving the food into the stone structure though, you noticed that the meat tasted better, and seemed to last longer. Other 'accidents' followed. Including one of your new friends firing red streams of flame from his claws, which soon set a tree ablaze. The other Stinkhorn managed to conjure up a ball of water, which he used to quench the flame. There were also occurrences of freak winds when one of the Stinkhorns became injured, followed by rumbling tremors on the ground around him. It became apparent that they possessed the seeds of elemental power. Maybe it would be wise to choose one for them both to focus on, so that they don't get overwhelmed and cause more damage?
Choose one speciality (cannot be changed):
>Fire
>Water
>Earth
>Air
Meanwhile, there have been no signs of the test subjects that were sent of to Qerx, and his order of Crystalid magi. Maybe somebody should go and see that everything is okay?
Tensions are rising within your clan; the uncontrolled magic, the lack of direction and the suspicious test subjects. Maybe somebody will step up and lead your people soon...

I'm feeling Water or Earth. Not sure.
Go tell Qerx we dun goof'd and see if he can help them master their elemental magicks.
You send 5 Drone scouts back to the tower to search it. They manage to trudge through the water and reach the entrance. Upon looking inside, they see nothing but broken furniture and pottery, which they ignore for now. There is a spiral staircase heading up, which they take. The same seems to be on every floor, with an increasing number of gemstones protruding from the walls, which seem interesting.
Upon reaching the peak, you see an altar, covered in red crystals. There is a strange aura around this altar. As one of your drones approaches it; Ruby Crystalids burst from the veins on the walls. They don't seem friendly.
Your Drones grip their spears tighter and look at the imposing figures advancing on them.

Howdy fa/tg/uys!
I need a little bit of help if you don't mind. Long time fantasy/post-apoc gamer and been asked to contribute a NPC deity that will play a part in my DMs story (as much as I'm told). I'm not very versed in Lovecraft/deity's lores however so posting what I have. Any contributions of assistance would be appreciated.
Name: Ianto the Sion (wip); hallmarks include a solitary twig of buds jutting out of a dead tree on the apex of a hill; associated with tumultuous noises.
Background: a surviving elder god who has watched the world advance. exists outside of the current pantheon's influence or knowledge.
Typical attributes:
cynical, lazy, apathetic, tired, shell-shocked, world-worn, "not my problem" guy
Single record of his involvement describes is as:calculating, harsh, stern, compassionless, merciless, justice, etc.
(OP)
Specific things I'm looking for:
1) How did he survive, what did he do?
2) How/if he draws his powers
3) What powers he would possess
4) Any flavor text you thing I should add, suggest, etc.

Leave HP alone, you haven't understood his work.
His only being that would watch is Nyarly, and please let's not. Overused!
To even assign intellect to Elder Beings that humans could perceive is a stretch. These are forces of nature, their passage bends reality.
Look to the Aesir for cool deities that watch and sometimes care.
If you insist on Mythos then take a Shan or a Mi-go who set himself up as a 'god' to some human cult.
Pic inaccurate.

"If you read this, it means you must have managed to defeat the dragon that stood of guard in front of the access of the temple: I have no words to say how much proud I am of you! You defeated your first dragon! That's worth 5 whole golden stars! (you'll find them at the bottom of this letter, all for you: don't forget to keep track of them, my joy and pride! They are stickers you can put wherever you want!) It's one of the most important stepstone to your path to become a real man, and I am sure that you will do it! Sadly at this time I am not here, but you all deserve a big warm hug. I wish I could be there to see you in this moment. I see how much you have grown: I remember like it was yesterday when you first started to swing your sword against those skeletons...without even knowing that they weren't much hurt by it either! But look at you now! I'd shed tears if I were right there. On the other hand, while I am not here, all you find in this room is your for the taking. Don't worry, no cursed stuff, I double checked! Also, I left you a large tray of chocolate chips cookies. I hope they'll still be warm when you'll find them. Take a small break, and enjoy yourself: I won't be doing stuff until next month! Keep an ear sharp about rumors about gates and demons, alright? I am sure you will manage to do that too.
With love,
-BBEG"
Your character ends up to deal with an oddly paternalistic/maternalistic BBEG. How would he react?
Knowing my character, I'd poison the cookies, curse the items and find a new dragon to guard them, then let another party believe it was the BBEG and enjoy the resulting chaos.
>>37185548
But that way you'd get no golden sticker stars!
Not that you deserved them, apparently.
>"Ah, you -almost- counterspelled my demon portal summoning, my boy! A jolly good effort of you, well done! Have a star."
>"Now that my plan has succeeded and I have essentially won, I look forward to see how you seize the victory from the jaws of defeat. I know you can do it!"

Sauron did nothing wrong. The elves and men were basically asking for it, being fucking inefficient. What about those pansy numenoreans? Fags. Every last one of them.

>>37188912
they are boring
You thought yourself dead for a while now.
Existing without your senses, as only a mind able to examine its memories. But oh your memories are thin. You know you are, or were one of the emperors astartes, and a gloried one at that. As you search your mind you can recall hundreds of battlefields of whom you were the hero and textbooks of information on imperial creed and the ways of war.
But you cannot remember who you are, bits and pieces of your days as a scout, where you lost an eye early are the only hints to your identity.
Deep into your inward search suddenly your world explodes, you can see! you can hear! You hear a sound reverberate in whatever chamber you are in... shapes move about in front of you... Shapes of grey and green... Your brothers! You cry out but make no sound.
A techpreiest waves away serfs and approaches whatever medical device houses you.
He explains to you the situation, you have been destroyed in battle, the autocannon of a traitor removing half of your cranium before you were interred into a dreadnought.
Normally one so damaged would not have been given the process, but the chapter master died 30 years ago, another has yet to be named, and you were the most skilled captain of the chapter, likely to become the next master. Unable to bear another terrible loss the chapter took the chance of making you into a dreadnaut. But it seems without your memories you will be no leader.
But the chapter can still use you.
What company were you the captain of?
Assault company, Choose:
Twinlinked heavy flamer and power fist with heavy flamer. Or two power fists with storm bolters
Tactical company, Choose:
Assault cannon and power fist with storm bolter. Or Twinlinked Heavy bolter and power fist with heavy flamer
Devastator Company, Choose:
Twinlinked lascannon and missile launcher. Or Plasma cannon and twinlinked autocannon.
What does your chapter (the viper legion) specialize in
(Pick 2)
Melee combat, distant ranged combat, vehicle combat, planetary assaults, boarding actions, stealth, mechanicus ties, psyker afinity,Maintaining above codex standard numbers, Maintaining a non codex standard formation or company (say what it is), Other
bump with holy armored breasts
>>37186732

So last time we left off with a question.
DO we want this to be a Civquest?
DO we want this to be a questy-quest?
I ask of you /tg/!
I'd say quest more so then civ. Perhaps if we become badass enough to be the alpha of our home island we can go full civ mode.
>>37166509
Thats the thing, we have a little village tribe... thing that belongs to us.
But, I can run it either way. Just seems that we lack the attention of a lot of the larger quests.

The times of greatness among your people have come and gone, forced to wallow in fecundity and rubbish beneath the foundations of the very city that ,generations ago, they called home. The stone walls that offer shelter to your kind is coated in filth, the waters that your family drinks of is murky and sickening. The tunnels you pass through are void of light, lit only by the occasional discarded torch that your people can scrounge from the heaps of refuse. Here and there large rodents skitter, thriving in the rot and sluice that surrounds you, providing the only true nutrition that any of your kind can survive from in such a rank and unforgiving environment.
Though, not all is hopeless and dreary, for your people yet survive, nay, they sprawl in such an environment! Whether it is some gift from a deity of filth that lets your people wallow in the sewers without incident, or merely the grit and determination that had your ancestors build the great city above you, it is unclear.
>Some greater gift to your people has allowed you to survive in the fecund muck where others would sicken and die. What is this gift?roll 1d100 and post with the roll what you vote for the "+Versatility" trait to be.
