Across the countless stars and worlds of a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, unrest seems to rule the minds of the fledgling Galactic Empire. Troops are constantly being recruited on every inhabited planet to serve as protectors of the peace, as power vacuums result in the rise of criminal warlords, rebellious uprisings, and general anarchy in the absence of the Republic's decommissioned Clone armies. It's a time of conflict, a time for heroes, and a time for you to stand up for what you believe in.
But first: Are you a boy? Or a girl?
First post will always decide.

boi :3
Boy.
>>37034013
Two boys.
I am a shit edition.
'Sup /tg/. I've invested about a month of prep time now in my West Marches style game. I can't get this to fly. Pic related.
I can't fill the map, and though central plain is looking a bit more full, the 6 mile scale means most of the world is still empty, and for what there is, nothing is more than a token on the map. No backrgound, history or lore.
Frustrated venting done.
What are your experiences with Sanbox campaigns /tg/?
What the hell have you spent a month doing?
About to start a West Marches style campaign, with the notable difference that there will be other NPC parties going out doing the same thing. Kinda a rush for different concerned interests to stake their claim in the new world kinda deal.
I'm gonna try and conceal the hexes from the players, if I can swing it that way. I don't want the travel/random weather/encounter mechanics to be too transparent, but for them to concentrate on the narrative.
Also, is Campaign Cartographer better than Hexographer? Java applications all deserve to be put into a microwave made of magnets.
>>37017741
I just go to each hex and roll d6
1,2 nothing
3,4 monster or human
5,6 monster and treasure
tweak it a bit and your off
It sounds like you are trying to create too much. Either get good at improvisation or use a prewritten module like Wilderlands of High Fantasy.
What house rules are you adding to your 5E D&D game?
>Flanking confers advantage.
>Everyone can Charge, straight line 20', add +1d6 to damage on a succesful attack; if unsuccessful opponent has advantage on next attack.
>Prone takes all your movement to get up, not half.
>Disbelieving illusions uses INT not WIS.
>Short rests heal only 1 Hit Die.
Group/side initiative. Downtime activities. No feats.
>>37013121
Those are all terrible houserules.
>>37013214
You may want to explain why you think so, otherwise your opinion is worthless.
>>37013163
>No feats.
Brave man.
A while ago there was this awesome horror thread about running a one shot about an elevator. I ended up fleshing one out and running one for my group over roll20 and they loved it. Had elevator music playing non stop when they were in the elevator and they ended up associating it with safety so had alot of fun messing with it , adding whispers and some such. I'm currently planning another one but this time Im thinking the theme should be a library. So /tg/ what are the freakiest and most un nerving things you can think of to happen in a library?
Bumb, interesting idea
>>36985467
I love visiting libraries but man they creep me out. They're one of the only places that make me feel claustrophobic.
>Horrific entities that can only be seen through gaps in the bookshelves
>A librarian that demands SILENCE at all times, even if it means cutting out your tongue
>The forbidden section is larger than the library itself
>Rows of shelves that seem to go on forever both forward and upward
>The Dewey Decimal System
>>36985467
Silence. Constant, unbreakable silence.
You lived in a town all your life. It was peaceful, the empire having just subjugated some rebels to the north decades ago and it was a good year for crops. Rumors of dragons awaking came about two weeks ago, but you didn't care. Who believed in dragons anyway? Well until an army unit came along.
The rumors were true, as an officer had explained. The world was made by dragons eons ago, the first two being Creation and Destruction. They bore children, and made creatures to populate their canvas. However, the creatures they made were never truly intelligent. Until a spawn of dragon sacrificed his scales to enlighten humanity and in his last years before being hunted down by his brethren, taught humanity dragon slaying. As it turns out, the only known surviving anti-dragon weaponry stays within a city buried in ash centuries ago, now almost certainly guarded by dragons. And so the army came, and you were conscripted into service to uncover it.
But first, who are you?

You are in a room. it's awfully dark.

Everyone's heard the jokes about wizards turning men into women, but what spell actually does so?
>>36938056
Polymorph Other.
>>36938056
Depends on the system/setting.
>>36938056
Polymorph Other
The funniest part is transformations caused by Polymorph other decay based on how far from the base creature you change the subject with turning a man inot lets say a Gargauntian Gold Dragon lasting a couple of rounds and changing someone into a Frost Giant a couple of hours is the wizard is skilled.
Changing someone's gender, because it only changes the base creature one shift, is a permanant effect unless disspelled.
>All humans now have lvl 6 spells
>All. Humans.
>Even peseants and children
>How does your game change?
I imagine it completely changes into being about every human in the world randomly having powerful magical abilities
>>36895402
Lev 6 of what class? Is it class even? What game, what setting? What ruleset? How many per day?
Fuck, OP.... That was weak...
>>36895402
That depends, the game I'm running or the game I'm playing in?
If it's the game I'm playing in then I would probably be ordered to assist the army in enforcing a city-wide curfew.
If it's the game I'm running... I have no idea how to deal with that chaos.
Comrades of the Union of Protected Kobold Republics! Today will be the greatest day you have ever lived! You will fight the fascist Gnome invaders with all your strength! For each and every fallen Kobold soldier, you will make them pay with TEN of theirs. There will be no mercy for the enemy!
>>36780186
>>36780186
Know what they have done to your land, to your HOME! Hatchlings butchered in their beds, mothers cut down as they screamed for mercy! Remember, great Comrade Steeltooth's orders: NOT. ONE. STEP. BACKWARDS! You will be well equipped for the battles that lie ahead. You will have food, water, weapons and plenty of ammunition. What did you suppose the Gnomes have?
>>36780232
Nothing! Their supply lines are stretched too thin; their dash to our home has left them without the strength to bring us a proper fight. With our superior strength and numbers, and our boundless courage, victory is ours! We shall stop the fascist invaders there - at Steelhold!
Ok, people. We've finally finished the paperwork and we can start work on the new world. You've all been chosen to participate on this committee for whatever reason, so now, we need to make a world to impress the guys upstairs. If we successfully make a world and it DOESN'T fall apart, we might get promotions.
First order of business is, what kind of land masses do we want? I've got an ocean set up, but we need to decide the type of land we want to put on.
Here's what we have to work with. It's very...oceany. Fuck, we have to pick some land.
So, do we want
>Lots of small continents/ many islands
>Medium sized continents/ few islands
>One large continent/ nearly no islands
>>36783917
Les have one medium/large sized continent and a huge amount of islands surrounding it.
>>36783917
One big super-continent.
