So how would one go about running a post apocalyptic Cyberpunk game?
Any form of technology left would be stuck in some kind of hive like cities with only a bit trickling out to the savages beyond the gate first off.

Seconding this. Paladins alone make it a fact.
After that, Probably Chaotic "I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!" Neutral.
Does anyone else find the unscripted storytelling in wargames really interesting? Like how a model can build up a history and character through many battles? Like this guy, who apparently bested a Space Wolf in hand-to-hand combat earning him a helmet! I always wondered about making important story elements of a book or story or something based on the outcome of a wargame.
Do any of you have models that have developed character?
>>43974456
Hahaha, yeah. "Trunk Puncher";
Skull Champ w/ powerfist of an 8 zerkers squad.
Killed 5 ogryns with bonehead and chimera they came in, last man standing.
It's part of why I'm not much for the "only named characters" approach of Warmahordes, Malifaux, etc. Though this tend sot happen to rank and file just as much as to characters of course. Like the lascannon gunner who could never hit shit, but who happily took three battle cannon rounds to the face without dropping.
Guy at my lgs almost always has that one death company dudeman who eats three meltas, a medusa round, then tears apart a couple infantry squads.
So, just heard about this game. Is it decent? Is it garbage? Anyone play it?
The rules are supposedly free online somewhere in PDF form but I sure as heck can't find 'em. I'm not about to spend sixty on a rulebook before I know anything about the game.
Nothing?
Well, it's not skubhammer so I guess no one plays.
>>43974191
I don't see a whole lot for it, to be honest. I'm sure there are people that play it, but you'll probably have to drum up interest in your own area if you want friends to play with.
Also, the minis look to be about the same price as Warmahordes stuff, although you may find difficulty in getting them, as there is supposedly some weird legal issue preventing Knight from selling in most stores.
>>43974191
I bought enough miniatures to have two small gangs and played it with a buddy.
It's fun. If you're looking for the crunch to try to capture the spirit of Batman I think you'd be pleased. Batman grapnels around the table and stuns thugs. Cops go and arrest the stunned thugs before they get up again. There are actual stealth and lighting mechanics, which was a big deal for me.
I can't comment on how mechanically tight the game is, but it feels like the sort of game that emphasizes theme over balance. You're also going to have to buy online and most likely convert some friends to play.
The rules used to be free on the official website but I can't find them now that I'm looking. I have a copy I can upload to Mega if you want. I think the printed rules might be slightly different though.

You are John Bayliff, a Dishwasher at Mackleroy’s, a Brewpub in the Midwest.
You're riding in the back-seat of Kim's Continental, Wally is riding shotgun and smoking a cigarette, it appears that smoking is fine while food and drink is right out. Wally calls out to you.
"Enjoying the ride John?" He asks with a smug grin, The seats are somewhat comfier than bus-seats but not amazingly comfortable.
"It beats riding the bus!" you chuckle. giving a smirk, Kim pulls into the Mackleroy's parking lot, the time is 4:50, 10 minute until you shift.
"And we're here." Kim say, turning back to you, "our last year's numbers for today were really high so expect to be busier."

We're getting nothing accomplished in terms of expanding the thread opener, but holy shit these threads have been so much more talkative. Unfortunately we have nothing to report... But we might on the 12th.
For anyone who's just joining us, most of the resources from the starting post are out of date or broken, so we should work together and make a new batch of resources. If you've got a house rule (1e, 2e, or even oWoD) feel free to share it. What do you do in your games to make things run smoother? Does anyone want to stat up some NPCs? Maybe some monsters? Do you have any homebrews to share? If anyone has advice on making a Chummer style sheet generator, that'd be super helpful.
Here's the images I use to start threads http://imgur.com/a/oerTd

If this is considered talkative for /wodg/, it will be nothing compared to when Mage 2e is finally released (assuming the art is ever finished and Paradox doesn't hold it forever as they "improve" it with some "One World of Darkness" metaplot).
Quick Question
How long would it take, for a Paladin trying to redeem a monstrous child, to have it change its alignment in average?
Pic not related
2 or 3 rounds of combat - one to grapple it, the rest to put Helm of Opposite Alignment on
>>43973310
okay smartass.
Now lets do it without a magical mind rape.
How long?
>>43973268
depends if the alignment component you want to change is part of the child's nature or if its nurtured.
If you are asking for build advice, please mention which third-party books are allowed. If you do not say anything, we will assume DSP/SoP is allowed.

TotT: What houserules do you run in your games?
>>43972838
We use the flanking rules from the DMG (which I personally enjoy, as a GWM Fighter), and we've house-ruled that you can take an action to perform a coup de grace, since sleeping or paralyzed enemies are basically sitting ducks, anyways.
>>43972838
lingering wounds, because it's fucking awesome. Also flanking, because most of my players are 3.5 veterans. I'm planning on using both the Healer's Kit Dependency and/or the one rule where a long rest only lets you use hit dice.

So /tg/ I've never played the Warhammer RPGs, but what would I need to do to set up a game where the entire party is composed of these guys [pic related]?
>>43972519
Dark heresy Ascension.
Eversors make poor players characters because of their "24h berzerk rage/6 month in cryo - rinse and repeat" routine, though.
"Roll 1d100"
"Oh! Okay uhhh my WS is...60! So I should roll anything under that right ?"
"What ?!"
"No roll 1d 100 to see how many people you kill..."
"But there's only 3 enem-"
"I SAID ROLL YOU BITCH, CASUALTIES ARE NOT A PROBLEM".
some kind of action movie scenario, I guessfeaturing Dante from Devil May Cry
>giving players extra points at chargen for giving their characters real flaws
>giving players points during the game for roleplaying real character flaws
How do you make players create characters with real flaws AND ROLEPLAY THEM without resorting to contrived bribery systems that make no sense?
>>43972204
You can't. Players are animals.
>>43972204
Contrived extortion systems that make no sense?
I mean, if you're looking for ways to force your players to roleplay flaws, that implies they normally don't want to, in which case either majority rules or you end up alone.
If your players aren't interested in roleplaying without being rewarded for doing so, they aren't interested in roleplaying.
You may be able to train your players to create interesting characters on their own by gradually offering fewer rewards, but they are unlikely to stop treating your sessions like a video game any time soon.

Greetings /tg/,
I've been searching for ideas and inspiration for a setting I am working on and have come up short.
So I come to you.
The setting is analogous to steampunk/magitech.
It took me a while to settle on "Fantastic Technology" as a term to explain what I am talking about.
I like new & clever combinations of science applied in ways largely not done in real life.
I hate nonsensical applications of it such as a clockwork spoon or magical Iron Man armor powered by a-wizard-did-it.
I realize it's autistic to expect any of the tech to actually function and have no problem with solutions that depend on rare unobtainium, adamantium, vibranium, or whatever to make it work.
I like technological solutions like pic related or an industrial freezer cooled by an Ice Giant's heart with clockwork fans that need to be wound everyday.
Setting details:
>Set in a large collection of various sized islands.
>Long after a magical apocalypse
>Magic, all magic, appears to be dead
>All records and knowledge of magic were abolished
>Age of ships and science began
>Two large empires formed
>Militaristic human oligarchy based out of the largest land mass in the west
>Totalitarian Dragonborn (working name) empire spanning many of the eastern islands
>Clusters of unexplored, uncharted, and unaligned islands in between
When I tried to detail the setting, I realized all my tech ideas were derivative, unoriginal crap.
The only idea I came up with that I like is a large ship crafted out of stone and I haven't even worked that out fully yet.
I tried to find ideas online and found either derivative crap, nonsensical crap, or useless crap.
I don't want modern day tech only with steam, cogs, and glowing rocks.
I don't want *Science!* as magical handwaving for anything imaginable.
I don't expect /tg/ to spoonfeed me what I want either.
I'm just hoping for something to generate ideas.
tldr: OP is a faggot who wants fantastical technology inspiration for a setting that will likely go nowhere
Improvised guns and explosives. Have the primers for hand made cartridges be made of magical shit. Instead of black powder various reagents could be used to alter the effects. The magical shit would be scavenged from ruins based on what you've outlined for your setting.
1. Power generation
-power station is split into hubs
-hubs are split into a number of periphery towers
- each tower is a shaft that sits vertically in a massive pair of journal bearings
-each tower has a number of fabric sails to catch wind
-each tower is connected via chain to central power shaft
-to account for variability in individual tower angular velocity have each tower's chain apply torque via its own differential gear setup. each differential gear setup would be at a different height obviously
-power shaft transfers rotation to a horizontal shaft
-horizontal power shaft has a gearbox associated with it to control output speed
-final output shaft is attached to electrical generator
Hope that's decent.

I like that arrow. The fact that it would cost 22500gp (in PF at least) makes it surprisingly balanced.
