I've been looking for an easy to pickup and play system that's cyberpunk themed. Shadowrun is fun, but can get a little complicated when people want to do certain things. I've looked into the Cyberpunk 2066(I think) system, but it doesn't really interest me.

I was wondering what you guys like playing. General Cyberpunk system thread, I guess.

I've been getting into the idea of running Interface Zero 2.0 recently. If Savage Worlds is your cup of tea, I'd give it a look, as it has pretty much everything you'd want for a CP campaign.

If you're Swedish, I guess Rotsystem is pretty good in the easy pick up and play regard.

They got released along the new thanquol & boneripped and verminlords around the beginning of this year, to accompany the end times book: thanquol.

Skaven already appeared in aos, no major involvement or inspection, nor actual new miniatures, just briefs mentions of them allying with other chaos forces, drilling interdimensional tunnels between realms and the horned rat gaining a bit more weight than before as an actual chaos god.
The rules for skaven are still in the free compendium but clan pestilens saw repackaging/rebasing and rules publications in their part of units' rules and some formations in the second campaign book.

It's unilaterally agreed that the stormfiends represent the future direction for the aesthetic of their models.

I decided to see if I could make an interesting Construct-based summoner variant.

It owes a lot to the Celestial Summoner (Though it's less dedicated in it's focus than that one was)

Feedback would be appreciated. I'm trying not to have it be TOO powerful. At least in comparison to the base summoner.

Using a name in case I need to reply to people's comments. Otherwise it gets a bit confusing at times.

So /tg/ how do you justify small races being able to do thing like be warriors or combat-classes in general?

I'm a really big fan of kobolds, skaven-like rat people among others, but realistically the small races wouldn't be able to compete in the slightest with even human sized creatures, much less greater things like ogres or trolls.

How do you do it? Is it better to simply restrict their class selection instead of trying to justify and gimp a game's system with realism issues?

Realistically, nothing in a fantasy setting even exists.

On a more constructive note, smaller frames does not equal weaker beings. In fact, it actually tends to result in higher muscle density. Muscles work by constricting and relaxing; shorter builds result in a shorter distance muscles need to contract. Therefore, the same muscle mass would have greater output on a shorter frame than a large one.
However, shorter races have shorter muscles, so it evens out.

Real life.
It's hard as shit for most players, and most stat arrays result in average rather than heroic arrays.
Also a lot of builds just don't work or are one-trick ponies.
Still nice to experience, would recommend, but that's because I got a pretty nice starting package.

Out of the classical D&D class line-up which ine would best represent the streotypical Sam Spade hardboiled detective?

I was thinking it could either be Paladin or Rogue

Traits of the typical Hardboiled detective
>Moral, but doesn't play by the books/doesn't mesh with the police forces enough to be a cop
>Can hold his own in a fight but prefers settling things with guile
>Drinking problem
>Prefers a handgun
>Generates Noir lighting wherever he goes

This archetype doesn't map well to any particular D&D class from the standard lineup simply because there aren't many fantasy detectives, so no classic D&D class was based on it.

In D&D terms Rogue works better, but honestly I get a fighter vibe from him.

Dude, just take a break. It's better to go on hiatus for a bit before you burn out than it is to let your entire game crumble to nothing because you weren't willing to step back and take a breather.

Let somebody else try their hand at GM'ing for a bit, and take some time to catch a second wind. Your players sound like the good kind, they'll understand.
>>
>>43995472
Run something where the players have a lot of narrative power, give them a problem and let them solve it in new and interesting ways, especially if the players are competing with each other to solve their goals. They will create their own story, you just have to create the foundation for it to flow, and the bulk of the creative load is lifted from your shoulders.

As much as I fanboy this, Paranoia High Programmers is fantastic for just this reason. Small amount of set-up, different every time as your players feud and generally create the story themselves. If your players probably won't be up for it, I've also heard good things about Nobilis.

Just generally find a system that encourages the players to shape the story, and they'll have just as much fun, if not more.

WORLD BUILDING THREAD

>>
>>43995288
Five major continents in relatively natural positions/shapes. One of them in centered on the north pole though.

Some minor "continents" (see Australia) inbetween. A fairly sizeable number of islands. A little more than Earth. To make up for these two things continents are also a little smaller than on Earth.

I'm good to run this for the next hour to hour and a half then I have a Christmas Function on, should there still be demand I'll continue where I left off when I get back, I plan on running this for a long time to come!

It's been fourteen years since the downfall of society as we knew it. Poor allocation of resources, namely fuel, reduced us all into anarchy. Those that could fight did, and many died. The first few days were filled with rioting, pillaging, raping, and bloody well any crime you could imagine, soon some of the fires started going out. That's when the shelling started, and with it the Petroleum Wars. May call these Wars World War III, but not the whole world was involved, only the parts that could be, nothing has been heard from the rest since power went out, God bless their souls. I sit here writing this journal entry in the margins of this book as I want to set myself and the survivors here with me onto a new path, to rebuild and to make mankind good once more.

Signed, __________

There are other groups of survivors as well as bandits and such.

So you've got a 50/50 vote, if you're willing to could you be a name fag for the civ? Makes everything easier on me.
>>
>>43995065
Sure, I guess. Now that I really think about it, I think Hodges would a better fit for a leader. So I guess I'm going with him.

So I'm sure this isn't an original idea, but I tend to favor EDH decks that have an element of bad cards to the deck yet it makes the game more fun/infuriating to play. Long story short I got the idea to try and make a carefully planned EDH deck out of the worst cards made in Magic's history and I was wondering if anyone knew any hidden gems like pic related I could toss in.

>>
There is a difference between a bad card and a bad card that creates an interesting boardstate. Wood Elemental, for example, is just a bad card. All it does is remove resources from you, and singularly you. That's not interesting, that's a doom blade waiting to blow you the fuck out.
>>
>>43994235
But that's sort of what I wanted to make a mix of; bad cards and some unusual cards that could patch them up. I know it sounds weird but I already have enough "real" EDH decks

Nothing about the Great Crusade makes any sense.

Like making a deal with Mars, the Emperor makes a deal with 1 planet and then goes on to militarily conquer 999,999 planets, unless that planet is Krypton there is really no reason not to conquer it too. I mean apparently the Great Crusade was so important that he was willing to make people who had been kidnapped by chaos into the highest generals in his army(it doesn't take a farseer to see the only outcome that could have) but he doesn't annex mars? Annexing a random stone age world fifty thousand light years from earth is important but mars isn't?

Also half or more of the worlds in the Imperium are stone age or medieval tech even 10,000 years after the Great Crusade, What? Maybe the Administratum could actually get some things done if it didn't need to look after hundreds of thousands of worthless worlds. If only the Emperor didn't make the Primarchs and had dialed back his plans to only conquer the most important human worlds, instead of every bumfuck human colony in the galaxy, then he would've been able to complete the webway and the Imperium would've been smaller but much more advanced and powerful. If only the oldest human and most powerful psyker in history could've foreseen that cutting corners and overextending yourself can lead to your downfall.

I don't think conquering worlds was the primary objective. If they could be annexed through dipomacy, great. If it had a massive factory, a STC and the ruler/s cared only about themselves then you send in the military.

As for your second point, you're thinking logically whereas the Imperium is anything but.
