So, i am playing rogue trader for the first time this sunday, and was looking for some input on my PC.

The setting is a few years after the Emperor has died and everything has gone to shit.

England at the closing 19th Century, railroads have turned a nation of villages into a beating pulse of industry. Local values and local time zones collide with the breakneck pace of the running steam engines. Telegraphs spread news faster than even the trains. And the newspapers are the new market square, introducing a news cycle, a daily narrative, and anonymous transactions.

Among the most successful pages are the classifieds, although they are not classified yet and commercial advertisements bump up against job offers and private announcements. Among those is a peculiar new kind of one line publication that offers a seeming solution to the age old conflict of unmarried mothers: Baby farmers.

For a fee of usually well under 10 pounds a disgraced maiden could unburden herself of her little shame without any formal adoption law quickly on some conveniently reached train platform far enough away from the prying eyes of neighbors. Supposedly those infants went to loving barren families in well off economic circumstances. And many probably did. But with nobody there to make sure an early career as cheap labor seems more likely. Some enterprising operators even discarded the subjects unceremoniously just to pocket the fee.

If an angel or some other celestial suddenly appears and starts committing world-endingly "evil" acts of slaughter or subjugation, and the celestial does not seem fallen, why should the party ever stop the celestial?

This is a creature of cosmic-level good who operates on a much larger scale than silly Prime Material mortals. There are many worlds and planes. If a celestial has judged that torching down one world is the single most effective and efficient method of saving many others, who is the party to question this judge of cosmic good?

Plastic, in the UK, costs £40 a ton. With GW willingly ignoring shareholder input and voting themselves pay rises for consultancy and constantly snubbing customers, what methods can they expect to save them from bankruptcy in the next 5 years?

How easy is it to get a gun in the Imperium? Can civilians get lasguns? Legally I mean.

My second quesion is - why some criminals are sent to penal legions and some are chosen to become space marines?

Does Imperium even have movies and vidya?

A question /tg/
What is your opinion of a staffsword like this? Where the entire blade of a sword is mounted on a shaft as long as the blade at least. What would the weapon be for? Would it be effective since it has the blade of a sword with the reach of a staff? What's your opinion on a weapon like this?
Also, there's got to be a better name than staffswords.

How could you justify all or at least most alien races who evolved under totally different environmental factors than humans finding humans to be the most attractive sapient species on average? Would they me more likely to view interspecies relationships as just bestiality?

I want to play CoC. Unfortunately one of my group said it sucked, and my players fear it isnt going to be fun. I tried my hardest to get them to listen but the naysayer had a bad time with it. And spread lies about how you go insane if you do anything at all.

So now I'm going to play a 1 player game, im the GM and I got one player as an investigator. While everyone watches. I told them I would have the game ready by Saturday and I left.

How do i play a 1 player game?
I dont know if i can show off the good points in CoC with a single guy. Especially combat, which I have decided to make small 1v1 hobo fights.


So far my idea is this:
He is an investigator who was called in because all the homeless are in this house. And anyone who goes in never comes out. They hear screams, constantly from everyone. And each night the homeless beg to leave, while in the doorway nothing stopping them from leaving.

So far I figured he would run in, shoot shit up, kill a few hobos. Explore the house and slowly go mad from the drug.

He would find small papers which discuss the broken ventilation, and the outbreak of coughing from the stale air.

Maybe he finds a gasmask? I don't know.

Basically I have 4 hours to run this little idea.

Do I need to scale stuff down because he is alone? Should I have combat? Or. Just not a lot?

Should I do the sanity stuff, since they need to know it exists, just not as quick.

I just don't know if it will work.

Should I just go back to D&D and forget this whole thing?
