Use your imagination, if a PC hacks a guy for a bunch of damage you can say the guy is wounded in some way, maybe his arm is broken, or maybe the blade bit deep into his side and now he's bleeding bad. That's the best way to deal with it instead of putting a bunch of rules in that may or may not be fucked.

Are we talking D20 or something like D20, you may need to be more specific.

And honestly, this sort of thing should be decided on a case by case basis. Usually no more than a few minuses to skills or stats. Though if you're running ng in a D20 style game, healing is so commonplace!ace that these off the cuff minuses dont tend to endure.

I'm not a 40K expert, but I know alot about the nids and a little about the Necrons. Since the Necrons don't have any bio-matter and are just souls possessing machines... how would a the tyranndis fight them. Have they ever crossed paths in the lore?

Bonus Question: What about game matches? (Separate from in universe)

I'm not too well versed in Necron lore, but from what I understand they haven't all woken up yet. And apparently when they all do wake up, they're supposed to have an army that could beat pretty much anything.

Lore has a Hive Fleet splinter pulling a 180 away from a Dyson Sphere containing the C'tan known as the Outsider. This was Oldcron lore. though.

I think more Oldcrons vs Tyranids had the Tyranids attacking a Tau outpost of some sort, before the Necrons activated and killed all the Tyranids. The Tau threw them a party or something and the Necrons killed them all too.

A Newcrons vs Tyranids battle is in Shield of Baal. That one was a phyrric victory for the Necrons and their Blood Angel allies, because they managed to at least slow the Tyranids down but they lost the system in the process.

As a general rule, the Hive Mind will not attack enemies it can't absorb for biomass (Necrons, Daemons) unless those enemies become active threats to the process of turning the planet into biomass.

One wants to depict them like the most badass human warriors, who tended to be nomadic pastoralists like the Mongols (though this would mean the normal class for orc would be horse-archer and I don't want to even imagine that) who relied on weaker, sedentary peoples to make most of their manufactured goods for them.

My question from the last thread is, if I add the following stats to power armor/robot armor/vehicles, would it make the game too complex?

>1. Sensor rating to detect things (replaces the Notice skill);
>2. Stealth Systems (including ECM) as camouflage to avoid detection (replaces the Stealth skill).
>3. Firewall to protect against hacking (acts like an opposed Hacking skill for the platform).
>4. Active protection systems (free counter-attack to stop incoming missiles).

There are a lot of combat stats, but not much interesting to do with all those cool robot sensors and systems. At least not in game numbers. Adding these stats would allow lower-power classes like City Rats, Scouts and Psi-Operators to do cool stuff in combat other than firing guns, and back those tricks up with numbers rather than just GM fiat.

This would also give players more interesting choices when choosing armor & vehicles. Rather than just taking the one with the most Armor, they could choose something with better Sensors for a scouting role, better Stealth for an infiltration operation, or better Firewall if they're expected sophisticated hacker opponents. The trade-offs would allow greater variety in power & robot armor.

People say it gives you magical wisdom, but it really just makes you healthier and immune to poison. Anyone who avoids dying in battle or getting shanked (and then can rely on the ring to protect them from poison and gout) is probably just a wise ruler in the first place.

All my friends who play D&D with me are highly intelligent engineers, who are always talking about fantasy books and follow a very strong stereotype. I feel very alien when i play, like i am not allowed to love the hobby or like i am not able to fully appreciate it because i am not that smart and actually find the stuff that inspired the game very boring (for example i don't like to read fantasy, not even sword and sorcery). What's your opinion /tg/? Can you help me change my perspective so that i can stop felling bad and alien about loving the game and just enjoy it?

If you don't like reading fantasy and scifi you won't be able to "fully appreciate" the hobby, the references, the in-jokes... but you can still have fun. Just enjoy yourself and the game, forget about the rest.

Lots of people in this hobby don't take it very seriously. It's not supposed to be work.

Bumping for interest, can't really think of any specific systems. But I think there is already a tabletop conversion out there.
Classes would be interesting, though with the amount of characters and stuff, it'd probably be better to go with something more ability based, though that's just my opinion on it. Maybe organizing classes based on weapons? Like all pistol users would be derived from the same class.
