>Playing
Burn Tricks, Selesnya Elephants, Izzet Prowess, Esper Ally Mill, Chromatic Ally Goodiebag, Azorius Awaken for "casual".
Also Meren Toolbox, and Iroas Weenies for Commander.

>Building
Zada Commander deck planned, but not yet bought, trying to decide if completing my Teferi lockdown deck will drive even more people against me.
I'm already unpopular enough whenever I play my Meren deck.
Trying to think up a fun new deck to build for casual, anyone got any fun cards to suggest building around?
I'm also disassembling my Accountancy Simic deck. It would actually be fun, if I didn't have to spend out 10 minutes remembering where each +1/+1 counter goes, and how all the triggers resolve. Perhaps it would be best to avoid recursive Ooze Flux/Evolve bullshit in the future.
Considering buying the stuff for my "trick out Emrakul" deck, using the less efficient and thus cheaper cards. I love Summoning Trap.

>Competitiveness (in terms of other players)
1. Plays nothing but proxy Modern decks
2. Plays real Modern decks, and some proxy Legacy
3. Efficient theme decks (his Soldiers is damn good)
4. Builds gimmicky, inefficient decks, only really good when he netdecks, honestly not too bright
5. Plays (mostly) powerful but fun decks such as Gruul Werewolves, Golgari Zombies, Grixis Goodstuffs. Also has degenerate shit like a horrible not!Affinity deck, and MOTHERFUCKING METALWORKER.

Managorger hydra and hardened scales and servant of the scale. +1/+1 counter spam is always fun.

The inaccuracies of the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer are likely to encourage people to join and boost their morale but what about the premise of a theoretical opposite of the Primer that overstates the effectiveness of enemies a bit to prevent soldiers from doing stupid things and making them be cautious.

For example, a Warhammer Fantasy version could focus on how savage orc weapons are meticulously carved and well-made despite still being made out of hard wood, stone and metal or focus on how elves are highly skilled and faster than humans but gloss over how most of them are militia rather than a standing army. What does everyone think?

It would probably be too demoralizing. The idea of the handbook as written is to provide morale. It's literally in the title.

Hello there, i am recently into warhammer 40k and i wanna make an imperial guard army. I wanted to start by buying the start collecting pack, since its pretty cheap for me here. Well anyways , im not really sure on the paints and tools etc. Im not really sure if i really need all of these paints(what are shades exacly=?), and which tools are useful(planning to buy them maybe cheaper somewhere else?) and brushes? I suppose only 2-3 are needed. Oh and that black spray paint is needes as easy basing i suppose, but what are the other spray paints?

Im sorry if this is the wrong board for this.

( i ment im not really sure if i need all of the paints on the online shop of games workshop. the store page tells me either to buy the complete astra militarum paint pack or some paints especially for this pack. which exacly do i need? help would be nice)
>>
Take a look at Warhammer TV's guide on youtube on how to paint Cadian Shock troops. That will show you what you'll need.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enUqWuU-Nns

Now, some of these colors are somewhat optional, because some can be replaced like eshin grey on the aquillas and details with Leadbelcher, but all of the basecoat paints, Agrax earthshade, and most of the layer paints are something that you NEED to have if you want the model to look good. Edge highlighting is THE reason why models look detailed and stand out, do NOT skimp on them like I did when I started, they're worth it. Also, you might get better prices on some paint by replacing them with different brand paint ranges here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart . Have fun, and remember to THIN YOUR PAINTS. There's a reason that it became a meme, and it's because people say it SO GODDAMN OFTEN because people forget it so goddamn often.

I was gonna buy a house with a USDA loan. Had it all figured out. 2 bedroom 2 bath house with 2 car garage, master suite.

And the holy goddamn grail.

A detached 800 square foot building with HVAC a full bath and kitchen. The perfect man cave. It had heated floors too.

It was perfect.

It clocked in at 179,900

So I had enough left over to fix whatever I need fixed, plus furnish everything for the cave.

Then I go to make my full price offer and they had just sold it for $165,000 that day.

I cried for about a week. And im back to looking :/

“What is that?”

Many of you have gathered around one of the tents, the tent for the Junior Poles Association to be precise. Serafina and her fellow Polacks were sitting cross-legged in front of what appeared to be some sort of wooden shrine to the Marquis de La Fayette. Candles were burning in front of a framed painting of him, and offerings such as fruit, photos of tanks, and even a spent shell casing were placed beside it. Serafina motions to you all. “This is our shrine to the Marquis de La Fayette.”

“Was that here last night?” asks Winona.

“Well it’s here now,” says Serafina quickly. That’s fair you suppose. “Niech żyje markiz. He is the deity who watches over our Academy, and thusly we must pray to him so he may bless our tanks and allow us victory against our enemies! This is one of the many ways the Polish shall improve upon their performance.”

“Um.” Dalia blinks. “Isn’t false idol worship a sin?”

“Besides that,” says Suvorov. “No army ever won a battle by praying and hoping that God will bail them out!”

Clausewitz blinks. “What about the Kamikaze that drove away the Mongol Invaders?”

“Or the rain that prevented Napoleon’s artillery from being set up in time for the Battle of Waterloo,” says Patton.

“Or the storm that destroyed the Spanish Armada?” asks Giap.

“Those aren’t God’s doing!” yells Suvorov. “That’s just the weather being a DICK!”

“Regardless,” says Iris. “Serafina, your attempt to appeal to higher powers hopefully will not get in the way of your training.”

“Oh, no, it won’t!” The Poles shake their head. “Będziemy trenować. Dla bylibyśmy niczym fanatyków, jeśli nie trenujemy nasze serca do żelaza.” The Poles nod to that, agreeing. “The Marquis shall bless our abilities in combat regardless, and I believe you all should too!”

Kyoko blinks. “So uh… you gotta sacrifice something?” Serina nudges her, disapproving. “What!? I’m- I’m convinced! Okay! A lot of weird shit can happen in Tankery!”

Serafina smiles, holding up a finger. “The Marquis requests one item that belongs to you.” Kyoko reaches into her pocket and pulls out her keychain. She pulls the little gear hanging off of it, then places it down on the shrine gently. “As they say in the South, bless your heart, Kyoko!”

Stack says, “That’s not why we say ‘bless your heart.’”

Serafina grins at you. “Elodie, as my platoon commander, would you like to make a donation? I guarantee you, this will work!”

“This isn’t because you’re desperate to get good fast, is it?” you ask.

“… noooo.” The Poles all look away, guilty looking. This is a desperate attempt to get good fast.

Why?
15 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>49022407
Used to be a semi-regular general thread.

Anima is intimidating for newcomers because of its sheer size and the options available. It has GURPS syndrome - at its core it's a relatively simple game, but the simplicity is hidden by a mountain of options, exceptions, alternate rules, and setting details.
>>
Anima is pretty cool. And people interested in it might like Luminous Echo, a setting book currently on kickstarter by Anima's lead artist, Wen-M.

They're actually voting on which systems they'll include stats for at the moment, and a push for Anima would be really cool.
>>
I'm actually getting into anima recently, I don't quite understand two things about psychic powers and CP advantages related to it

Do I need to take the "can use one/any discipline" advantages to use powers and THEN spend PP, like how with magic you need the gift and then spend magic levels? The segment on psychic powers doesn't specifically say like it does for magic

The advantage "natural psychic power" seems kind of worthless, you can't maintain any powers and if you use it more than once per minute you take fatigue damage. I wanted a character that had the create energy objects power so they could always have a weapon on them, but if I can't maintain it then it only lasts one round which means I have to take a penalty for multiple actions in a turn to summon it and then attack. I hear this game has a bunch of spanish only errata, is there anything about this or is it really just a trap option?

the chaos warband known as son of malice, yes.

other chaos gods than the big 4 are not supported.

They exist, but the primary issue is malice is a minor chaos god. And GW only cares about the big 4. However the sons of malice could be interesting enemies due to what we know about them. Which is still more than we know about the fucking alpha legion.

House Cadmus is kinda awesome. Their homeworld is on the border of the galaxy, so night is occasionally a completely black void for them. They also have a mysterious vault deep below their fortress that holds a number of unusual things, including what's implied to be an Eldar woman in stasis that arrived one day in a comet.

An Inquisitor once visited their world to investigate the rumors of their vault, and their high king had the balls to passively threaten him about it.

>When Inquisitor Grumund took refuge on Raisa before travelling on into the Veiled Region, he casually asked Baron Roland about these whispers of alien objects and unknown obscura. Roland's response was merely a smile across the feasting table and a gentle reminder to Grumund that he was there as a guest, and should not trouble himself with the gossip of peasants. Glancing around at the room filled with House Cadmus nobles, all with eyes on the Inquisitor, he wisely chose not to press the point.

House Blackskull. What little we know about them is rad as fuck.

>Triumph of House Blackskull (559.M41) >The major knightly houses of the planet of Scuptium VII are all but destroyed in the initial stages of a vast Ork invasion. Only the heroics of the world's least favoured house, Blackskull, prevent their entire sub-continent from being overrun. Eventually the last twelve Knights of the ruined house retake their entire planet.
