>boss fight time
>sexy female villain transforms herself into a huge monster

Does anyone else hate this trope? Is this some misguided "oh you can't hit a girl" thing that's survived for decades? Do they really think murderhobos will hesitate to kill an enemy because they're hot?

I'm tired of this, /tg/

No, it's the opposite. You see, your average murderhobo will just draw their sword, step towards the villain, and lop their head off. By transforming into a huge monster, you turn the situation from a single-stroke victory into an actual battle for your party of murderhobos.

You are Sir Fetch the Nightfeather, and you will /not/ lose another one of your brothers today.

You let out a shrill cry and fling your remaining quills at your foe, aiming for his face. He jerks his arms in the path of your assault. Many of your bony projectiles break against his bracers, but not all of them; you can hear his growl of rage as the Master of Lizards staggers back and Vim scrambles away from his deadly boots.

Off at the officer's houses, you hear a loud cry - "The Major is dead! We're under attack!"

Two of the pens are thrown open - you hear Whisper yelling "Run free, majestic predators!" - and the twenty lizards contained therein immediately pour out into the mass of soldiers trying to gather together, scattering them and sending out cries of pain and fury.

"Yield to me, sir," you demand, imperiously.

"I'm going to hang whatever necromancer spawned you by their fucking nipples," the Master growls.

That other coil at his belt is a bullwhip. He draws it and lets the sinuous leather drag against the ground.

> Vim /can/ still come through for you. Hold your ground!

There are plenty of solo boardgames. In the RPG space you've got gamebooks (Lone Wolf ones are up for free on projectaon.org), dedicated solo RPGs, solo modules for regular RPGs, and game master emulators. The latter work as kind of a magic-8 ball designed for RPGs, where instead of asking the GM stuff, you ask the emulator and it gives you either yes/no answers, or with some of them, cryptic I-Ching type answers you have to interpret. (For some folks this may not be all that different from their regular GM)

PDF related is a solo module made up of mini adventures to be played in early D&D or other OSR compatible systems.

Agreed. I love wyrd, and their models are pretty great looking when assembled, but they really need to work on how things fit together.

Most of the starting boxes are cheap and a great start. Might be good to point out the ones a that don't do a great job, or have models you're unlikely to use later.
>>
>>48987487
It's also probably not a bad idea to call out boxes that give models you'll use a lot of. I'll start running through the list and see what I can see on both sides.

So I'm writing a sci-fi setting. I'm fairly happy with my explanation of FTL and how it does not let you travel in time and I'm fairly confident that my section on economics gives an adequately believable picture on how economics with fabricators, AI:s and von Neumann machines would look like. I already know what sort of factions I want in the system.

My big challenge though is deciding on a map. What sort of map would you prefer for a big sandboxy sci-fi adventure with a sort of Traveler feel? Should I map it all out in advance? Or should I turn it into a hexcrawl? Or should I just make shit up as I go based on the factions that exists?
>map it all up is a lot of work
>hexcrawl is very gamey

For me the classic shapeshifting mimic is to much of a D&D-ism. I prefer to limit this category of monster to natural camouflage with perhaps a very simple lure, like an anglerfish light or a carnivorous plant with an enticing fruit.

>>48985386
I have to make decisions on the macro scale of world configuration, that will have great consequences down the line.

I'm torn in between using a regular planet, a flat configuration, a toroid or a previous draft with an amphitheater shape.

Ideally I would like to use different celestial bodies beside one another but it is jarring to marry a flat world to neighboring sphere in the same system if the relationships aren't exactly right.

Particularly having a jovian planet is hardly compatible with an irregular world that would profit from orienting itself around an axle.

season 5 when

The wind is blowing.

A cool breeze from the east flies over the heat and dust of the Gerudo desert, and with it one could almost hear the fluttering of flags and the march of feet and hoof. A fell wind with fell tidings for the female warriors of old Gerudo Fortress. For many weeks now the tidings of war have come from the east, and the Kingdom there. A mighty army, a "Crusade", bent on conquest and spoils. Proud and unyielding the Gerudo prepare to defend to the last warrior, but there is hope.

The young gerudo prince, scarcely a lad, on whom the hope and faith of the Gerudo people lie. Every hundred years, a boy is born to the Gerudo females, and the prophecy states it is he who will lead the Gerudo "in a time of great darkness and peril", a man destined to conquer his enemies. The Gerudo look to their prince, and pray to the Sand Goddess to bless them in battle.

The wind is blowing. Now fate will make its play.

Fluff: Alweir is a premier wizard within the kingdom of Hyrule, though, not the best wizard. Or the most wise wizard. Instead, he is mostly known for his command of history: he knows things that nobody seems to know for reasons that people aren't exactly sure of. Some people doubt he is truly a wizard -- wizards usually don't deal in history. Rumors, persistent rumors, suggest he might not even be a Hylian. But those are rumors -- just rumors. That aside, his command of history gives him a reasonable command over the present: weaknesses, strengths, advantages, tactics -- all belong to him. Given such knowledge he often finds myself within the upper echelons of the royal court -- his advice is sought after and demanded.

You are Pax Lombardi. Another farmer in a long line of uneventful farmers, you were called by your Lord along with several other men of the village to Levy. After but a few weeks of training and outfitted with simple armor, shield, and spear you have marched long and hard to this unforgiving desert, with promises of spoils and foreign women. The men make merry at the thought of swift and easy victory, as could only be promised by such overwhelming numbers. The men around you sing songs and brag of bringing treasures to their wives, their children, or of single men taking a "a warrior women home to bed". You wonder what you have left at home.

Jimmy dick: now on Shapeways!
Song of Swords is a realistic fantasy tabletop RPG that draws inspiration from historical fechtbuchs, weapons and armor. Its combat system is fast and it can be used for both fantasy and historical/mundane settings.

Call of the Void is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

Shinobi Quest #34

This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.

(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime had interesting dreams- and learned a very sad story. Upon waking, she, along with her allies, headed towards the tower that marked the goal of the Forest of Death. Skillfully dodging enemy shinobi, their final obstacle came in the form of the Sand Siblings, who were blocking the entrance of the tower- seemingly just to satiate Gaara’s lust of battle.

After an initial attempt at misdirection failed, Tsuki utilized a more “interesting” technique to paralyze her foe, allowing all teams present to make their way inside. The rest of the night passed quickly, with the remainder of the competitors filing in…

No.

Is the princess exploiting the system herself or is she disapproving of what her father does without being able to change anything?

In the first case, she is guilty as well. In the second case she is not.

If she doesn't know how corrupt the system is because she isn't allowed to learn anything about it, she is innocent as well until she gets educated about the corrupted system. Then one of the first two cases is the case.
