Anons, I really need your fucking help. I can't stop thinking in songs. If I manage to stop thinking about one, another one takes its place immediately. I'm also having less and less control of my own conscious thoughts as time passes.
It's got to the point where it's really fucked me up in my exam. Can someone help me?

Go to a shrink.
Auditory hallucination is a sign of Schizo.
Meditate and train yourself to switch off your "inner dialogue"
>>8598353
It's not an auditory hallucination, he's just got songs stuck in his head. It's not pathological.
Stop listening to music for a while op.
Why can I smell my piss when taking a piss?
I smell thing when molecules enter my nose, right.
But the piss is going down, not up, they have a downward momentum, so how can they get up, when there's no wind or anything or no movement at all?
>>8598335
Stat mech.
Most go down.
Some go into your nose.
>>8598338
>Most go down.
But they all exit from my dick with velocity, how can some suddenly reverse their direction
>>8598335
you smell piss gas

Oh, never.

i never understood how he did a phd in physics with a history major
did he take a lot of physics classes or something
Why is the term "cherry picking" the name of a logical fallacy? I understand the fallacy itself, but why is it called that?
If I pick a fruit off the tree where it grew, and it happens to be a cherry, I can infer within reasonable doubt that this tree is a cherry tree, and any other fruit it produces will also be cherries.
>>8598177
Care to google m8?

Because you only pick the good cherries.

Wait how
>You major in physics
>You graduate with <3 GPA
>No chance of grad school
What would you do?
>>8597895
I got shitty undergrad GPA in Bio and did a Master's degree to beef up my profile. It helps that my parents are rich.
>>8597895
Rely on my publications to help push me over the line.
You DID get published didn't you?
retake classes to boost your GPA what else?
pic related is you.
I'm learning calculus 1 and 2 for the first time and and have heard people say how difficult it is, so have worked a big scary bogeyman image of it inside my head. It has been smooth sailing so far. Learning differentiation first, have covered the quotient rule, power rule, constant multiple rule, sum rule, and their proofs so far. What are the more difficult concepts to look out for? T-t-thanks guys.
>>8597880
Everything afterword. You're going to fail.
Now fuckig kys brainlet

P-p-please no bully.
I even gave you a nice webm.

I'm in Cal3 and everything seems ok so far. Don't worry so much.
>b-but Anon! Euclid is an informal system of mathe-
Let me stop you there. It can be proven formally, and verified using computerized systems
>b-but Anon, the fifth postulate.
Does have alternatives. Pic related. But Charles Dodgson went ahead and proved that Euclid's axiom results in the most simple determination of the 27th prop.
There is literally nothing wrong with Euclid. Prove me wrong.

It assumes the existence of reals, because for the objects to exist and have properties postulated by Euclid they have to have irrational coordinates, but as we all know perfectly well the reals don't exist, and therefore Euclid's axioms are logically incoherent and therefore are bullshit
>>8598694
The existence of reals? The definitions are proofs enough. And they are hardly a priori. I don't believe you can really call anything a priori until you hit postulate five. Then you're dealing with two lines, two angles, and a postulate which depends on another postulate. I understand that mathematical judgments can be synthetical, however why is it that the definitions are necessarily informal?
The main problem lies in postulate five my friend and many agree that the definitions are solid and even can be formally accepted mathematically.
Right now, and always, you are looking at your nose. You just process it out most of the time. Let that sink in then try to forget it.

I'm always looking at my johnson but it always tends to remain in focus outside of when I'm intoxicated.
So? I'm always looking at my glasses too, but I am desensitized to it. What is your point, OP?
You now realize that you can never find a comfortable spot in your mouth for your tongue.
Hello.
We are looking for people with special skills.
In the absence of cicada, we are trying our luck.
Your first clue lies with the picture.
Good luck.
I've been looking for a new Cicada type puzzle. On this now.
Who are you?
What happens if we solve your test?
hey 4chan this year i'm double majoring in Mathematics and CS with Physics Minor so i want to have a flexible schedule and i'm really looking for reading Maths,CS,Ph papers in arXiv and be profiecient with CS/Maths
so what resources do math majors use or how to build a solid and Pretty rigors Maths foundation ?
and what's the best school of CS Knuth one or Dijkstra one ?
looking for inspiration guys and very willing to spend 20,000 hours in these two fields and i've trained my self the past 2 weeks to sleep only 4-6 hours daily and isolating myself from all online offline distraction
personal stories are welcomed
thanks in advance for anyone ^^

what is this? analysis?
>>8597369
You sound like a pseudo-intellectual high school graduate who greatly overestimates his own intellect. Surely, if you're not a brainlet, you can learn the mimimum requirements for a bachelors degree on your own. But going straight into research stuff is gonna be a long long way.
>>8597375
yes ^^
but it's a vague term however by today standards it means real analysis and pre measure theory
>he says he can make general artificial intelligence within 10 years
Can he do it bros?
Who?
>>8597309
If he is the kind of guy who goes around making big claims/boasting then I can assure you that he is not smart enough.
You know where big breakthroughs come from? From people who have no connection to the media nor to any establishment other than whoever is funding their underground research.
>>8597309
Don't know, investor's money doesn't just fly to people on its own, so he will eventually say stuff like that.
To be honest, our understanding of neural networks is not quite mature enough to even grasp what "general intelligence" really means.
How badly am I fucked, and what do I do from here?
I'm a Physics / Planetary science double major halfway through my junior year. I've fucked up a shitload, but I'm at least going to graduate on time. However, my cumulative GPA is in the tank (~2.6), I've never spoken to any of my professors, and I have zero research or internships.
Do you literally just walk up to a professor and say, "Hey, give me some research"? I've been looking through the research of the professors in my department and it seems so far above my level that its completely inapproachable. I also don't know how they'd react with a student they didn't even know existed.
Where do I start with this shit? Is it too late?
>>8597200
Did they attribute a quote from a Christian apologist to Richard Dawkins?
>>8597223
I don't know, it was a random /sci related image I took from my memes folder. I've never taken the time to fact-check the quotes. I wouldn't be surprised either way.
>>8597200
Nobody else on /sci fucked themselves over a bit? Everybody here perfect students from the start?

I need to start using LaTeX, mainly because I'm tired of being a word fag, but also i need to write a term paper for my modern physics class.
what is the best LaTeX editor, preferable one that updates automatically with a preview.
I like TeXMaker, just press F1 and it updates the preview.
