Inside the Kingdom of Rvoliuton there are many factions that wish to be supreme. This kingdom is inhabited by one species, humans. Humans are not strong nor weak, they are not smart nor dumb, they are not attuned to magic but wield it fine. They are quite average in everything. While the other species may be niche in what they do humans are very broad. One might decide to conquer a kingdom, another cure deadly diseases.

To the east of this kingdom is the "Alliance of Sentients" This "alliance" is a large kingdom filled with many various races. If the elves the halfling and the elementals as many races. They are ruled by a council filled with 3 elves and one halfling and one dwarf. It is a place filled with "equality"

Too the north is the dragonkin and goblins. They mostly mine and mind their own business. They rarely trade with the humans but it is known to happen. Dragonkin are notorious for being greedy. The goblins are famous for being powerful magic users. They are regularly rented to other kingdoms as mercenaries

South of the humans kingdom lives the orcs. Fierce warriors they tend to raid and pillage all that they can see. Their motto is "Salt their houses, Rape their fields, Burn their woman" No one knows why. Orcs are incredibly dumb. shockingly dumb. One time an orc ran into a tower because he said "Fist hurt things. Me hurt things. Fist hurt human they die. Fist hit tower, tower dies! ME HIT TOWER AND KILL IT!" Their are many resources that way because the orcs don't know what metal is.

To the west is a large ocean. It is inhabited by nomadic tribes of fish people. The tribes have various races ranging from mermaids to talking fish. Disgusting talking fish. One time a fish tried to fuck one of our traders. He was traumatized for life. These tribes regularly trade with the kingdom. Objects range from fish to pretty pearls.
The rules to this quest are simple. Create a faction list some things that exist in said faction. If it is good then I will let you become a faction. Every 5 years ingame you can do a major action. Such as researching how to make an engine to creating a new form of cheese. You can also do minor things in between. Such as plot assassinations, scout new lands, spy on people and make giant dicks on your "friends" house.

Magic/mana can be gained via sacrifice. You can sacrifice items to gods, yourself and other people. Depending on what race you sacrifice too depends on how much mana is gifted to them. There are also things that add to the mana given when sacrificing such as personal importance of the object, how old it is and whatnot. Magic will have to be researched.

I forgot to add. Prayers to someone give them mana. The only way you can pray is via dance.

Guild of Sharp Bladed Gentlemen
------------------------------------------------
This guild of dapperly dressed mercenaries represent both the nobles and the mercenaries of Rvoliution. Most noblemen and women are given to this group during their teens so they can learn how to behave in the court, and experience adventure + learn how to fight as well. While they have fallen on hard times as of late, with their guild hall collapsing, they seek a new home within the kingdom:

Assets:
- finest moustaches in all the land
- dapper suits and dresses
- 200 semi trained young adult nobles
- 25 highly trained noble mercenary elite

Ever since the Kingdom of Valgrite received the dire prophecy that a Lord of Darkness armed with the power of the unyielding Edge would bring ruin to the realm, the Valgritean Paladins spent the next hundred years scouring the kingdom for anyone that had the potential Edge to become the next Dark Lord.

Every man, woman, and child that even had a remotely Edgy moment in their life were exiled to the furthest parts of northern Valgrite known as The Outer Rim, an untamed and hostile land where only the strong survive preying upon the weak, and where the Edgy rule.

You are Wedge Hastings, a young man recently arrested for being a potential Edgelord, and you are currently being escorted by four guards to your new ‘home’ in The Outer Rim.

The week-long trek north in the cold autumn morning, would have been more bearable if not for the fact that one of the guards keeps tapping you with the blunt side of his halberd.

“Lemme guess why you’re ‘ere. You used shadow magic to teleport behind someone, but got knocked out when you tried to say sumthin’ witty?”

“Oh! Oh! I bet there’s a demon sealed in his eye? The Paladins would’ve had a field day with him,” another guard chimed in.

“C’mon boy, tell us! Give us a laugh!”

You're Dr. Waffles, and you've got a PhD in Yummers. Not only that - you're a mad- independent, an independent scientist on a mission to perfect breakfast.

You're out of supplies though. You've used up all of your ingredients in your latest (and failed) breakfast experiment.

What will you do!

You are Subject 108—"Whirlpool", sent with advanced technologies to fetch water for an isolationist civilization (on Earth, mind you). However you ignored the objective in favor of having your own adventure and you stumbled into exactly that on Cymbio IV. Since your arrival you've done nothing but wade deeper into the plot that seems to uncover the conspiracies behind the luxurious establishment of Resorcinol and the history of the "tribespeople" nearby.

On the search for Grant and Petroleum, you face yet another grueling fight as a formidable individual, presumably Petroleum himself, bursts through the wall and confronts your group. He was defeated thanks to Gertude stalling him until you could come up with a plan. Although the action does prompt a female janitor to cause a bit of mayhem in panic. After integrating the wreck of one of his remote-controlled shells, Errai rejoins your group accompanied by Havelyn and a small handful of other individuals. Following Ammonia's somewhat-autonomous cleaner bot, you ended up encountering the same hazmat guy from yesterday. Hoping to avoid trouble, he agrees to your demand that you see what's down the large elevator he was keeping you away from. As your group descends, a pair of robots crash down and battle your group again.

The hazmat leads you to a spacious elevator where a few other hazmats stand with high-end equipment. They seem rather docile and one of them even jokes about the situation.

>"See? I told you it wouldn't work."

>"Yeah yeah whatever, I'll deal with that bet later. Look, whoever you are, Petroleum's not down there if you're looking for him."

And yet, you ask him, what is he hiding down there? Where does this lead to?

>"A lot of things actually, and since you're bent on going down, you're going to find out for yourself anyway. I just hope your "tribal" friends are going to be okay with it."

Hmph, there's more to this than you thought. The platform starts going down to the central depths of the establishment. You try to ponder your situation but your contemplation is interrupted with the sound of Sirius getting hurt.

You turn around and see that a robot has fallen on top of him. He's pinned down by a bladed weapon and out of the fight, but at least he's okay. The others have dodged out of the way in panic. In a fit of instinct, you pull Errai out of the way to avoid a second robot crashing on top of her.

The platform is at full speed, any disaster will result in everyone's deaths.

Caffeine: Play defense, move people out of the way of attacks whenever possible. You're not equipped for offense against big fucking robots.

Everyone who has ranged attacks, use them. Bullets, cold emissions, etc. and try to aim for opticals.

Ammonia lays down a puddle for whirlpool's use upon being ordered to, via the bucket of adequate capacity.

Whirlpool: see if you can lure one into the puddle so you can try to grab it, dump it somewhere unimportant and away from the area, and return. One threat is better than two.
If you can't manage it, then activate x-rays, look for a weak spot, and KRAKENS BEAK it!

----

Rigel cracks a joke at the lead hazmat.

>"Are those from your toys?"

>"No, I only saw those in old blueprints. It's not in my control, that's for-"

He narrowly avoids a mighty cleave from the sword-wielding robot thanks to Caffeine's intervention.

Havelyn brings out...a bell? He brandishes a bell and rings it loudly, causing a glimmer of light to appear above him. Well that's pretty, you suppose.

Ammonia starts spilling water from her bucket. Meanwhile the others are focus firing on either of the two robots. The melee-oriented one reacts more aggressively, closing in towards you—right towards the wide puddle for you to use DIMENSIONAL HOPPER on.

Having POOR SPATIAL DISTORTION serves to your advantage as, since the destination is irrelevant, the robot will likely be shoved in an inhospitable point anywhere in the known universe. At least that's what you hope, it's also likely that it'll end up in a retirement home or an elementary school or something.

The ranged-combat robot, realizing its major disadvantage, fires its weapons randomly in an attempt to destabilize and crash the elevator via collateral damage.

Rolling for side-characters to use their trump cardsand have them work.

>"Hey scrub! Over here!"

Havelyn uses his bell again, this time creating some kind of b]MAGICAL SHIELD around him. He tries to lure the gun robot's attention with his crossbow bolts but he only aggravates it into shooting more haphazardly. You loudly tell everyone that if we fail to stop it then everyone dies.

>"Shoot, I was hoping I didn't have to use this until I can get it repaired but I guess we have no choice."

Use what?

The vendor brandishes a device that projects an immobilizing tractor field and pins the robot in place.

>"Quick, do something! I don't know how much juice this thing has left."

As the machine struggles against its energy prison, Errai has a quick idea.

>"Caffeine! Use this! Quickly!"

She tosses her LASER-EDGED SWORD and right on cue, Caffeine shows up dramatically. You guess her pacifistic qualms don't apply to dumb robots. The moment the vendor releases the stasis field, the head waitress ruins the machine in a literal second.

>"Whew...I only got this far before the sword ran out of juice. I managed to destroy its head and disable its weapons though, but I'm not sure it's completely out."

Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkworld creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.

They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.

For many years, Dark Gate Academy has held back the forces of the Darkworld, kept this unspeakable evil contained within their walls. But a dark cloud approaches, and times are about to change. A new chapter in the tale of Dark Gate Academy is about to begin.

The jagged rumbling of the train carriage does nothing to settle your nerves. The train hurtles down the tracks towards the city of Kingudoro, but your mind is racing so fast that it's already there.

The government body that funds the school of Dark Gate Academy have decided that after recent events regarding the Darkworld breaking out into your own that the academy has failed at it's intended purpose. Now, it's apparently up to them to step in and take a more hands-on approach with the running of the school. Before you know it, you're being shipped off on a mission after they received word of some demonic force posing a potential threat towards the city of Kingudoro.

Kingudoro... also known as The King's Road, the city is a booming industrial zone, known mostly as being the home of the Shooting Star mega-corporation, a massive company that dabbles in electronics, auto-mobiles, and military-grade weapons the world over... Kingudoro also just so happens to be where you grew up.

Kiriko is sitting right next to you, her hands clenched up into balls resting on her lap, her shoulders hunched over and her head hung low. It's unusual to see her this tense. Usually she's the one pulling you out of your cynical spirals.

“So...” Io mutters, sitting in the carriage opposite you, trying hard to break the tension. “You're from Kingudoro, huh? You know, I did always figure you two were fellow city-slickers.”

“You don't have to come along,” you mutter. “I told you already, you can just get off at the next stop and go back to the academy.”

“And I already told you that I'm here to stay,” Io smiles warmly. “It's not a request Kaz. I'm not asking your permission.”

“The mission was explicitly one brought forth to the Darkworld Investigation Group,” you explain. “You're not a member. You're going to get in trouble with the higher-ups when we get back.”

“Then consider this me signing up as a member,” Io laughs. “Besides, I'm not afraid of some suits telling me off. It's not like I'm the only non-member here anyway. Last I checked, Gado wasn't an official member. Neither is our detective friend. And don't get me started on that agent girl...”

“Don't forget me!” Alice pops up from under the carriage table, looking around under there for a candy bar she dropped.

“Exactly!” Io chuckles. “You want to talk about me? Imagine the fit those government guys are going to throw when they realise one of their two super special demon hosts managed to sneak out on them!”

“I don't approve of Alice joining either,” you mutter.

“I'm fine with it...” Kiriko replies in an uncharacteristically low tone. “With Takeshi being held back at the academy for his... job evaluation... we should have as many helping hands as possible, you know? Especially when this is...”

Io sighs, looking at the two of you hanging your heads low. “It's going to be fine, guys... I promise. Whatever threat there is, I know you can kick it's butt.”

“I hope so...” you sigh, as you stand up and head into the next carriage. Sitting inside is the very cramped group of Risa, Tami, Sae, Kuin, Gado and Anri. Kuin is sitting on Gado's knee to make room, and Anri is being bunched up uncomfortable close to him as well. This group seems to be having a much more relaxed conversation, asking Anri a series of questions.

“So, why did you pretend to be a guy in the first place?” Risa asks.

“Well...” Anri sighs. “When Kazuma first encountered me, he assumed I was male based on my stance and my clothing. I like keeping my identity as private as possible, so I decided to play along with his mistake. The less he knew about me, the better.”

“So fond of keeping your secrets, yet you have no problem with snooping into other people's pasts,” Gado mumbles.

“Someone sounds mad,” Tami giggles.

“Someone is mad,” Gado replies.

Anri's eyes glance down with a guilty look, as Sae decides to ask the all-important question. “So when you decided to spill the beans, you just up and flashed the guys?! What the hell where you thinking?!”

“I forgot I wasn't wearing a bra...” Anri blushes.

“How do you forget that?!” Risa laughs.

“Guard dog, how were they?” Sae asks Gado. “What size are we talkin' here?”

Anri's face turns a deeper red as Gado shakes his head. “Can't say. Haven't seen them.”

“What?!” Kuin exclaims. “That's just disgraceful. Are you telling me you don't have the decency to show yourself to the most loyal knight the world has ever known. As your benevolent dictator, I order you to flash Gado this instant!”

“Please, no...” Anri mutters, blushing like crazy.

“It's fine,” Gado says, calming Kuin down. “I don't need to see them.”

“Are you sure?” Kuin asks with curiosity. “Whatever. The tracks are getting bumpy, can you bounce me on your knee?”

“What are you, six?” Sae raises an eyebrow.

“Silence! It's fun!” Kuin protests with a mighty huff.

You shake your head as you check out the next carriage over, holding the very silent trio of Reiji, Hoshi and Akuro. Hoshi hasn't stopped crying since they got on the train, and Reiji has no idea what to say to her to get her to stop. From what you've gathered, the Shooting Star company is owned by Hoshi's father, and with it being the most likely target for a demon attack, it's no wonder the girl is a nervous wreck. Akuro meanwhile is sitting with her arms and legs crossed, huffing silently to herself.

“Something up?” you ask.

“Stupid goddamn superiors...” she mumbles to herself.

You smirk. “Sounds like your bosses are giving you trouble.”

“Yeah, they are...” Akuro mutters. “You're just a kid, Akuro! It doesn't matter that you're the most capable among us! Since you've got the gift, you should become a student here! You're a perfect fit for Class 1!”

Akuro continues to perform an exaggerated impression of her superiors, until you interrupt. “What, so you're sticking around? You're now a member of our class, huh?”

“Officially, I'm the agency's representative among the student body,” Akuro explains. “But that's just a made-up position that doesn't make any sense. The truth is they don't take me seriously because of my age, and just want to send me to school like I'm just some average kid.”

>Well, this is your chance to prove them wrong, isn't it?
>Dark Gate is not filled with average kids.
>Huh, then maybe you should try to get acquainted with your new classmates.

Welcome to Silverlin, Grand city of mages.
It can be quite overwhelming your first time here but you will get use to it.

Watch out for that fire ball!

Good reflexes, that will be a blessing to keeping you alive. Now then where was I, oh yes! Here in Silverlin there are 8 districts here, each one with its own specialty of magic and guild master who presides over them, each onet makes up the Grand Council that rules over this here spectacular city.

First we have the Evocation district as you could tell from the fire and ice spouting from those excitable wizards, dont worry most of them are all flash. Though I would advise against upsetting any of the more powerful ones, I myself am allergic to being turned into a pile of ash! The guild here is run by a eccentric little bald gnome who is just as excitable as the rest of them.

Alright to the next one! Here we have the Conjuration District, yes that is devil from hell just dont look him the eye and you will be fine, probably. You can find all sorts of bazzar outsiders roaming the streets here, from elemental of the outer planes to the angels of heaven bound by are illustrious conjures testing their skills. The Fetchling guild master is a quite one but his little imp minions do enough talking for him i think.

Keep a hold of your wits now, we are heading into the Enchantment district. Here you can find a brothel on ever street corner and each one is a home to some of the most lovely ladies, or me, or things you can hope for. I've laid eyes on the Teifling mistress of the guild here and let me tell you I had to wear my hat for a few days!

Now is everyone still with me? oh looks like we lost some people to "The Scaly Taint" I'm sure they will catch up

On to the busiest district yet, the Transmutation district is mostly just one big bazaar where one can find a variety of magical and mundane wares most of which goes through the bank/trade/mage guild run by the human headmaster with the most creepy smile I've ever seen.

I would hold your nose on this one , the Necromancy District has a bit of a smell to it. Most of these fine dead individuals make up the but of the work force here , wizards being the lazy bunch they are don't like all that hard work so they let the dead do it for them. No complaints from me, just don't get your limbs to close to any of- well there goes another one.

Off to the Divination District, those orbs floating around the city are these mages handy work, those spy cams see keep an eye out for folks that cause trouble and alert the guard accordingly. You can also find quite a few seerers here that will tell you over your future or show you the homes your from just encase your a little homesick

You can thank the strong walls to this place, the Abjuration District, it helps protect all of Silverlin from outside threats that would break down its walls, you can als othank it for the strong barriers that keep those creatures in Conjuration stuck in there.

The dwarf guild master here maintains the walls and a vigilant eye for outside threats a little to stuck up for my taste though.

This last one here is a bit of a pickle to find, yes I know it looks like a solid wall but that's the Illusion District for you, always trying to impress with their fancy spells. If you find that you need a more refine entertainment then the brothels of Enchantment can give you then step into any of the elaborate theaters that dot this part of the city, you might find yourself thinking your in the gullet of some foul beast ha!

That ends the tour of this grand city, I hope you enjoyed it ! any questions? what was that moving in the sewer? now don't mind that now and please deposit 5 gold into my cap as you leave!

You are the former United States Navy warship USS HOEL, now returned as a shipgirl and ready to kick Abyssal ass!

Currently, you had all made a brief stopover in Pearl Harbor on your way to the main battlefield of Japan. While everybody was busy trying to get your transport plane refueled and getting everything restocked, you decided to show the relative newcomers Dorsetshire, Graf Spee, and you guess Kidd around the base for a bit.

And the first place you decided to take them was to Mulberry's. Last you saw, she was still asleep from all the stress of taking Midway, but you heard that she's recently gotten back up on her feet again, which was real great news. It's been waaaaay too long since you've seen her.

And from other things you heard, she also had a much better understanding of the Abyssals and the current "situation" .

Well, first things first! It was still early in the morning when you landed, and that meant beating the breakfast rush!

You have since made the trip out of the Skar and into the lower city. Here you have all your juicy targets. Smuggling shipments by the various criminal scum whom you plan to rob said shipments from for both profit and poetic justice. The data pad you have with you shows you places of interest and scouted locations for good ambush points.

Currently your held up in a particular good vantage point with some mutants who signed up to work with their 'favorite' abomination as in yours truly ever since that whole debacle with that experimental appearance changer from the Black Box. You still haven't gotten how that power works entirely but you gotta admit that abomination form was mighty helpful when you picked a fight with some super heroes previously.

You also have with you some gangsters who are unusually well equipped and actually trained so they are worth a damn. From the criminal organization you joined. Not bad benefits really you got some great super gear, a free additional power, and they helped bail your ass out of some trouble. You just wish you had some of those veteran clones or those blanked soldiers. Those guys were fucking great, but alas your stuck with some mutants and gangsters for this mission.

Well good news its unlikely a super villain will show up to make trouble with you but its not an outright possibility. So this is SUPPOSE to be an easy job. So you need to make up your mind on which shipments you wanna hit.

Priority target.
This shipment is most likely to have a super villain show up so we should make plans for escape paths, distractions, long combat and traps.

You are a monk, fresh from training. At the moment, you are an Acolyte until you have proved yourself worthy.

You have no special powers beyond basic Wolololing. So only living creatures for you.

Slower is easier to convert, while fast stuff is hard to.

Where and when are you?

>dawn of civilization, where there's just a bunch of stone age tribes. These tribes rarely have monks, and the monks available are basically all Acolytes.

>bronze age

>iron age

>Middle Ages

>Late Middle Ages

Welcome to my very first quest! This story is set in Gaea, the world of Final Fantasy 9. The plot will roughly follow the events of the game, but the addition of our new character and some key plot differences should make for a new experience, even for those who are familiar with the source material.

Dice mechanics will be explained as they become relevant, and there will be a ten minute voting period after each choice. You are encouraged to write in your own choices if you feel like it, and I will do my best to incorporate non-contradictory options when possible, but I reserve the right to veto options which I feel are out of character. With that out of the way, let's all have a good time!

Alexandra: The city of marble, perched atop the frosted peaks of the Mist Continent. Stretched across the basins like a steepled bridge, this pearl of the North could be seen from miles away were it not for the continent's namesake: The Mist.

Prolonged exposure can drive men mad, warp and twist the land itself, and even permanently change the weather; to say nothing of the monsters which call the Mist their home. No one knows its source, and any expeditions into the land below have yielded little insight.

It is because of this that the three great nations - Alexandria, Lindblum, and Burmecia - have taken great pains to protect their people from this most unnatural of dangers. Burmecia, proud as they are, have refused to leave their settled valley despite enduring the Mist's encroachment for hundreds of years. They claim their druidic magics have kept the madness at bay, and their famed Dragoons have successfully defended their nation all this time.

Meanwhile, Lindblum and Alexandria have taken great pains to simply avoid the Mist, and either relocated into the mountains or, in Lindblum's case, constructed a series of enormous gates to buffer its townships from the dangers outside.

In such a dangerous world, with so few bastions of safety, is it any wonder that celebrations and festivals are given as much pomp and presence as possible? Even one day of merriment can ease an anxious mind.

In Alexandria, where we lay our scene, today is such a day: The sixteenth birthday of the lovely Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII. In honor of such a momentous occasion, Queen Brahne has contracted the world-famous Tantalus Theater Troupe to perform the princess' favorite play: Lore Avon's I Want to be Your Canary. Funny enough, the only people in Alexandria who may have never seen Lord Avon's works performed are situated firmly outside its haute elite, and those people are naturally not allowed to attend.

And yet, on the night of the play, there you are: Dressed in your traditional light garments, vest, and veil, your rounded hat coming to a point right at the top. Your eyes are all that are uncovered, and you wear your sabre at your hip. You clearly don't fit in with the nobles, dressed in all their finery and the airs they've put on, but here you are, all the same.

What are you even doing here?

> I snuck in. I haven't more than a few gil to my name, and a few unusual characters helped me get here.
> I was hired as extra security. Queen Brahne didn't want to take any risks when it came to her only daughter's birthday. I'm to make sure no ne'er-do-wells get past the guards.
> Actually, I do fit in here! I was the queen's honored guest, invited here along with my tutor. He is an esteemed doctor and philosopher, and old friends of the crown.
> I'm a member of the Tantalus Theater Troupe, of course! Don't you recognize me? Don't tell me you haven't seen our shows! But then, what am I doing in the crowd?

The station is almost empty.

I get out of the train, a bit dizzy. I have my bag in my left hand. I sit down, feeling extremely tired.

This was a 300 centuries trip to reach Paris. During the trip, I lost almost everything, but the initial urge to reach my destination remains.

"Now, let's conquest Paris" I say to myself.

I look for the way out and walk towards the first cab. The afternoon was grey, like the cab, like myself.

I get it. The driver is sleeping.

What do?
