Welcome back, space pirates, to the sixty-second installment of Mecha Space Pirate Quest, brought to you by the Wong's Laptop Mk. II. I'm Wong, your host, and today you are once again Admiral Roarke S. Starwind of the Iron Kestrels, best boss in the Belt.

I know some of you probably forgot that today was the day, and that's fine. I'm really starting to like /qst/'s giant comfy threads, it makes it harder for people to miss.

Last time, you had a beachside date with your latest hostage, Countess Loriette Marie le Kennedy of Avalon. She had to leave, though, to be present when her Anseis was reactivated (or as she put it, when it wakes up). Which is fortunate, because you're having dinner with Fatima, and you don't need Samantha's level of Empathy to realize that having those two in the same room together is worse than having Karen and Red Siren in close proximity. It's like throwing two angry cats into a washing machine.

You had fun at the beach, but the sun is setting and Fatima's just sent you a holomail. Most people prefer text messages, but some are a little more old-fashioned. You swipe your thumb over the holographic screen and select the icon, and a hand-high holo of the Martian woman appears. She has on a traditional scarlet dress to go with her headscarf, and she curtsies prettily, “Dinner is ready, darling husband-to-be. I thought it would be nice if we ate in my quarters instead of in the mess hall, for once.” She smiles as the message ends.

That really does sound nice, although with between five and seven women in your life, you eat at the mess hall a lot less than you used to, and haven't had time to visit the Rhinehawk's bar in a while. You make a mental note to do that, it's good to spend time with your people. Not just for their sake, but for yours, you can't let this newfound celebrity taint the person you are.

You knock on the door, and she calls out to you, “Roarke? Come in...” Her voice is smooth and rich as silk, her Martian accent even more intriguing than it is when it has the hard edge you're used to beneath. Inside, the room is lit with real candles, little tea-lights in glass jars that cast glittering highlights off the small assortment of variously-sized rifles hung prominently on the walls. You know that the candles come from gift shops on Auditorium, and aren't genuine Martian like the rich rugs covering the floor and the tapestries on the walls, but who cares? You recognize at least a few of the rugs as being from the Heart of the Sunshine and wonder how she got them back from Rosita, but overall, the décor is tastefully exotic. Just like the woman waiting for you at a low table set on the floor. There are no chairs, just soft cushions for sitting, and you take a seat, feeling just a tiny bit out of place. Fatima is radiantly beautiful tonight, and it's not just because she's obviously gone through some trouble to dress up for you, her eyes are shining and her smile is warmer than the sun, “Let me pour the wine, husband-to-be. You have had a stressful time, no? Let that pass, all is well now.” She purrs, serving you. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that this is the same woman who once screamed implications that your parents were a pig and a dog at you. She smiles happily, practically giggling, “I am so lucky, I thought your work would keep you too busy for me.”

This is amazing, you think to yourself. You’re finally getting a chance to go raiding, to turn your family’s luck around. Ever since your father was maimed, your mother taken by illness, and your brother lost as sea, you’d figured that was about it for you. Luckily, as serious as luck is, it can be easily denied by (almost) single-handedly killing a frost giant. Three gnarly gashes across your chest is a small price to pay for a shot at fortune and glory.

Your brief internal monologue is interrupted by your father, Sven.

“And he’ll have some fuckin’ rules for you, too,” he says in that fast way of speech he falls into when he’s worried. “And those’re straight from me, so you follow them to the fucking letter, you hear?”

You give a sort of non-committal grunt. He’s not looking for an answer, he just wants to let you know what he’s thinking.

“Now, I’m heading out to the fields. Try not to slay Jormungand, or slay Fenrir while I’m not looking.” He waves you off with his mangled hand, and walks out to the fields. He always went out there when he was upset and wanted to be alone.

But, the day is still somewhat young. The sun isn’t quite setting yet, so you’ll have a few hours to kill.

>Go find Knut. He’ll want to know someone will take you raiding.
>Find Anders. You’ll need some advice if you’re going with Bjorn
>Find Erik. If anyone will keep you grounded, it’s that kid.
>Head to the mead hall. You could use a bit of ego-nurturing.
>The sooner you sleep, the sooner you wake up. That means the sooner you go see Big Bjorn.

You are Purps; an amnesiac starborn. Things have been pretty hectic since you woke up on a random hill - thus far you have killed a midget rebel, had a dance off with a foxman, went undercover with your new friend to find who mugged your new boss, had a weird dream, fought a crazy cannibal priest, died, came back at the cost of some memories and emotions, killed the cannibal priest who killed you - then you decided that you're going to get your maimed friend a new magical eye. You trained a time stopping snipergot into a fight with his Dad, taunted him with his dead wife, then ran when he snapped, now you Hona and Luc are bedding down in Rono Pass Tavern, which seems to be frequented by a lot of Darnites.

Sgt Honamurei post black 2.gif

You recover quickly from the fall getting to a knee and staring up at your room's window in anger. Most of the wall is blown out, and standing wielding his greatsword in one hand is the imposing barbaric figure of the blonde bearded Darnite.

He leaps down at you and Hona opens fire with her gun. Bursts of bullets flying thorugh the tulmutous wind at the oncoming figure. You meet him, your polesaw clashing with his claymore time and again. He is strong, but you are making up for your disadvantage with technique.

Your footwork is excellent despite the slippery terrain, but he catches your saw with his blade and the two of you are in direct competition. You grit your teeth and your red eyes meet his bloodshot blue. The both of you growl in the back of your throats at the stalemate as you push.

Push.

The growling reaches roaring as your feet beging to falter on the slick cobbles and he forces you back and down. His sword begins to move down as you lose ground, the barbarian's weight and strength becoming too much to resist. He is about to cleave you in two when you lean back and flip him over with his own momentum.

Hona cries your name and you feel he back press into yours as swords clash. Looking over your shoulder you see her clashing the Mercenary leader you spoke to earlier. IT is hard to track their swift strikes, but you see her rapier hold against his two blades.

The Barbarian is being helped to his feet by a black haired warrior. He puts aside the strange headed halberd and some magic heals the consequences of your interrogation.

Sniper bitch takes an assault rifle from Halberd guy's back, nodding to words that are stolen by the wind before she pulls down her goggles and shooting a grappling hook off into the darkness of the storm.

Honamurei's frantic duel stops as her opponent disengages. The dual sword mercenary and her both panting from their stalemate. You see him walk off to the side and join his squad, careful never to face away from the two of you.

The Barbarian, The Leader and The Halberd guy form a line even as Hona steps up besides you with sword and gun drawn. She spits into the ground as you rotate your neck.

You face off against each other, fire filling your whole body with a new life you haven't felt before. "Let's do this Purps!" Hona shouts with a grin. You don't take your eyes off your oponents. Nodding as you replace your polearm with claws.

Your first sight is the impenetrable darkness that surrounds you. This darkness is more than an absence of light- it seems palpable, almost solid, suffocating. You try to scream, only for your vocal chords to make a shrill noise in protest- as if you had forgotten how to speak. Trying to calm down, you extend out your arms, only to find out you are inside some kind of wooden box that´s around twice your height, and strangely shaped- You can´t quite remember the name of this box, but it seems familiar...

A coffin.

Coffins are for storing dead people

The realization hits you like a ton of bricks, and your mind is filled with questions- What are you doing in a coffin? You try to find the opening, and push with all your strenght, as it flings open, and light comes rushing in, dispelling the asphyxiating darkness, blinding you for a couple of seconds. You let out a sigh- or a wheeze- of relief, glad that you weren´t... wherever the coffins are placed. You can´t remember well- and another question invades your mind- Who are you? Looking down, you can see... a small hoodie, and a pink skirt. You aren´t very tall- you guess you are around 9 years old, but you can´t quite place your exact age. Your skin seems oddly pale, almost gray-ish, but you seem to remember it being a different color, whenever you last saw it.
But... what is your name?

QM´s Note: Remembering things about your past will increase your Sanity.
Sanity functions as a separate loss condition to things like physical integrity- By losing things important to you, called "Mementos", usually linked to your past, you will lose a great ammount of Sanity. As long as you keep these Mementos with you, your sanity will steadily rise in controlled situations- meaning as long as there´s nothing directly affecting your Sanity, your Mementos will allow you to regain at least part of it. Your current mementos are your clothes- Mementos can also suffer damage, which will cause light sanity damage, but can be repaired to recover it. You may, through forming attachment to other people or objects, gain new Mementos.

Losing all your sanity means game over"

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics are up in the air. Suggestions are welcome. We'll be trying some new things out so I appreciate your patience as we fine tune it. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. I also want to try a more varied turn system so you and your opponent can do a few things in a row more often.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture.

Welcome back to XI Primarch Primarch Quest, it’s been a little while since we last were here, sorry about that.

Last time Coron and his men established a plan to create a more advanced system of irrigation to the farms along the Phraate. After investigating the flight telemetry for the Drop Ship found when he first arrived Coron acquired the rough location of a large military installation- which he and his men set out to investigate.

Indeed, buried under mountains and sand many miles from Urak a large tunnel lead into the heart of a mountain. Exploring they found a massive metal door, torn by unknown forces and with numerous ‘corpses’ outside. Inside they navigated the dark metal tunnels until they came upon the reactor which they used to bring the facility back online.

The automated defenses which were activated at the same time struck hard as they moved through the facility- killing four and wounding more, including Namu. They did manage to make their way to the Command facility and disable the security functions, effectively taking over the facility.

First running post should come at 22:00 GMT.

Feel free to throw any questions in the mean time...

I'd like to run twice a week, but I just don't know if it's feasible... so I'll say once a week run- and if an extra one cuts in occasionally that's how it goes.

As far as voting I'll definitely cut it off after 15/20 minutes if it's too slow. Same for rolls- I'll roll sets as necessary.

There’s no time to waste- so you and your men start moving the injured to the Medical facility inside the base. The autonomous functions inside are almost entirely nonfunctional- whether from age or the earlier surge you’re not yet sure… Still, it provides a brightly lit and well equipped area to tend to the wounded.

Initially you follow the lead of Daru, one of your men who has experience in providing crude amputations, shrapnel removal, and other such procedures- but it is not long before your intuition begins to provide you with more elegant solutions.

Daru gracefully takes the role of assisting in any way he can as you prepare for removal of the shrapnel too deep for him to either detect or retrieve. A variety of tools spring to mind and though you can only provide a description of them the two of you are able to collect a number of instruments to operate with- you steel yourself and dive into the gruesome work set before you.

You spend an unknown amount of time in the guts of your men and slowly your movements become… methodical. At first you must widen the wounds to adequately remove the scraps of metal, creating wounds that will scar gruesomely, but they will live. Quickly you refine your technique, becoming more precise, allowing for smaller incisions which will heal faster and leave smaller scars. It is not long after this that you do away with them entirely, removing the shrapnel through only the holes left by the munitions, something you suspect very few could manage without your atypical abilities.

Water from the canteens has been the only thing to provide relief to the man scorched through the carapace armor, thankfully the pain has put him in a delirious state preventing him from struggling and worsening his wounds. Pouring over the medical supplies your mind identifies an anesthesia and after a moment toying with the dosage the man is granted a reprieve to unconsciousness.

With steady hand you begin to extricate him from the carapace armor, cutting away portions that have melted and gruesomely fused with his skin. As it is a good portion of the flesh on his torso will scar horribly- that is if it does not become infected. Once again you look over the supplies- finding a small supply of salves meant to treat burns. For now all you can do is apply the salve and wrap the man in bandages while keeping him sedated…

Your men stabilized you begin looking over the rest of the facility- with the lights on and autonomous doors functioning it is quite a bit easier to navigate and much more welcoming- save the obvious remains of faculty in the form of tattered clothing. You’ll have those removed when you can afford the time for a proper burial of your own deceased...

In the year 1220, the Continent enjoys a period of peace after many civil wars in the Northern Realms, and the Empire of Nilfgaard celebrates the birth of young Prince Emhyr var Emreis. It is in times like this, when the threat of war and men killing men has been forgotten, that people again focus on the dark creatures gifted to us by the Conjunction of the Spheres nearly 1500 years ago. Your home has always faced the occasional graveyard ghoul or traveling halfling, but recently a much more fearsome monster has settled in the area.

What is haunting this moonless autumn night?

>1. In the Temerian province of Velen, howls plague the orchards outside Mulbrydale. The fall harvest has been halted by the largest pack of wolves seen in years. At first only lone travelers and wandering children disappeared, but quickly the King's own men litter the paths outside town.

>2. Your grandfather, a powerful vintner in the Duchy of Toussaint, was found torn to pieces in his secluded castle at the base of Mount Gorgon after welcoming a small merchant caravan from the North. Several deaths followed soon after, and your father travels to Beauclair for aid.

>3. The militia of Cintra return home through a forest from a minor border dispute, until an Elven ambush blocks their way and begins to decimate their numbers. The noise draws many distant soldiers and quickly becomes a full-scale battle.

>4. The people of Svorlag eagerly watch the sea, waiting to see the return of fierce Skellig raiders who left months earlier. With the first frosts announces the imminent return of the longships, and the remaining villagers eagerly await tales of battle and glory. Instead, the sea spit out not cheering warriors, but instead traumatized survivors.

First to three votes is the choice, correct me if I don't stay true to canon.

I seek time immemorial.

From the furthest forests to the most distant deserts, I've looked for a man who has the power to give me back the time that I've lost.

For the past fifty years, I've been trapped in a world I do not know.

I'm surrounded by people I'll never truly understand. I've been travelling for decades; I've spent nights on stormy seas, fought for my life in humid jungles, seen the sun set over ruined empires and fledgling kingdoms alike.

More than anything, I miss the land I call home. I thirst for my father's tea; I hunger for the bread crafted by my mother's hands. I yearn for the childhood I lost to my curiosity of the unknown. Toying with forces beyond my comprehension, as a young child, I wished for adventures in another world. Much to my dismay, those prayers were answered.

I was a traveler, without a home. But tonight, I plan to return back to the land of my birth. Tonight, an eclipse shall open a path to the domain of a sorcerer who can grant me my wish. I'll pray that he is benevolent... and that my sword remains sheathed.

But first, I have to reach him. My first task should be....

>1. Prepare my spells and attune my mind. There's no telling what tricks are in store.

>2. Select which weapons I'll use should I have to defend myself. Even a powerful witch can fall to an experienced warrior's skill.

>3. Find methods for bribing or convincing the sorcerer. I've found myriad treasures during my travels; there has to be aught that he would want.

>4. Head to the nearest city and acquire more knowledge. I've already packed everything I need, but perhaps someone there knows more than I.

AKA the Amanda Waller/Maxwell Lord/Nick Fury Sim

EXPLANATION: The Statesmen are an eclectic group of American superhumans from the Capeworld setting from Baron Bizarre Quest and The Generals Quest. They're a diverse group of gods, warriors, scientists, sportsmen, social workers, and showmen. They aren't assembled to fight threats. They aren't chosen to fight threats. They are elected, one from each of the fifty states, for being weird, interesting, heroic, sexy, traditional, or popular.

Their purpose, as stated by Herbert Hoover when he helped launch the first incarnation of the Statesmen, is to "demonstrate and celebrate the diversity of America's supra-humanoid population and to show that this diversity unifies in service of our great nation".

The Statesmen have been called "Ms. America for superheroes". But it has also been called a way to draw attention to the many walks of life superhumans choose for themselves in America.

Around the world superhumans often sacrifice their personal desires for what their society demands of them. Superhumans are subject to a mandatory draft in China and Russia. In Japan they are pressured to join a voluntary public registry of superhumans. In Canada they are pressured to choose sides in a swiftly fragmenting country. In Germany they are pressured to humble. In Africa they are pressured to be rulers.

In America, for better of worse, there is no such pressure. There is chaotic, dangerous, wonderful, potent diversity in the superhuman culture. There is the Statesmen.

And you are the Strategic Supervisor for the current incarnation of the Statesmen.

You will decide how this incarnation of the Statesmen is managed. Will you try to expand operations beyond America? Will you run the Statesmen more like a "real" superhero team? Will you make advertising deals with fast food companies for cash?

The choice is yours.

But today you are not here by choice.

Today you are at Washington DC to do what all great public servants must do.

You are here to beg Uncle Sam for money.

You adjust your tie as you clear the scanner device flanked by national guardsmen in red white and blue power armor. The scanner has always been here. The guardsmen are here because people are on edge from the Selenite hive violence in Europe and Patmos' last attack on the white house.

Maybe you can do something about all that malaise?

You walk through the classics-inspired rotunda past portraits of previous speakers of the house and a never-melting ice sculpture of a bald eagle left by the princess of Frostland as a token of goodwill after her senate hearing.

You find Jenny outside the doors of the Senate busily chatting on her phone.

"I know dear. I promise I won't let them kill me. Not without a fight anyway! We can get dinner at the Holy Dragon afterwards. Now YOU be careful, and I'll talk to you later. Love you. Bye."

"How do you like that?" Jenny says turning to you. "She fights psychopaths and monsters and she's still more worried about her mom getting in front of the Senate than herself!"

"Any names for those psychopaths and monsters?" You ask.

"Oh no no no." Jenny gives a light chuckle. "You know what I said. I'm not giving you her name. Loving daughter or not she'd kill me if she thought you were signalling her out for special treatment."

JENNY is the head of Statesmen human resources. She's like a combination social worker, parole officer, psychiatrist, and den mother. It's her job to see that the 51 members of the Statesmen all get along and don't self destruct into the soap opera cliches that trip up even the greatest superhuman teams.

She has a personal stake in this expansion of the Statesmen. Her daughter is on this incarnation of the team.

JUSTICE JOLT: There's an achievement for finding out who Jenny's daughter is before she tells you.

JENNY Is who you need to talk to if you ever want to know how a member is doing without talking to them face to face. If you want to recruit new members or retire current members you talk to her about it.

"Relax Mr. Supervisor!" Jenny says. "Its just the senate, not a Chroman war council. If we stick to our bottom line we should be fine. Remember that the overall idea of the expansion is-"

>What the hell is an Anonymonster?
It's actually quite simple. You design and draw a monster with 5 stats; (LIVES, MUSCLE, BLAST, GUARD, FAST) You have 13 points to allocate into each of these stats.

>What's the tournament part then?
I shall pit these monsters head to head, in a massive tournament, to determine the strongest and most capable monster out of the bunch. And then do it again. And again.

>How is the pic related then?
This is leaderboard from the first trail tournament held over at >>>/v/354239613
With only 8 participants, rather than 16.

>How does it play?
>>>/v/354239613

>How do I enter?
Simply be one of the first sixteen to post your monster. You will be added to the bracket.

>What do the stats mean?
Lives is the amount HP your monster has.
Muscle is the damage of your regular attack
Blast is the strength of your blast attack, akin to a critical hit, but somewhat different.
Guard is your defense against oncoming attacks.
Fast is how quickly it takes for your monster to take a turn.

Shinobi Quest #45

This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.

(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Previous Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Shinobi%20Quest

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime waged war against her Semifinal Opponent, Gaara of the Sand. Though she initially was caught on the back foot, Tsuki was able to turn the tide of the battle, eventually choosing to utilize her strongest technique to overwhelm Gaara’s defenses.

Itachi-sensei, however, was against this course of action, and called out for Tsuki not to hit Gaara with the ability he helped her create, possibly fearing the result. After a hard fought decision, Tsuki fired the technique high into the air, creating a spectacular lightshow, but also emptying her chakra reserves. Unable to continue, Itachi called the match in her stead.

However, shortly afterward, Hanzo the Salamander announced his intention to punish Konoha- so that, in his words, Konoha could be reborn.

We rejoin our party now, with Konoha under siege by forces both known and unknown. What could possibly be going on….?

Hello everyone. This is a test quest in which Our main character,Uradugr, seeks a horrible creature in the heart of the mountain overshadowing his small village.

_______________

Another day without the warmth of the sun. It is an omen. The gods are not pleased.

It is not a surprise; children of Bskr and Emtla spill their own blood over gold, women and land. They are blind...blind to the god's ire. The Realms between worlds, they are crackling like a fragile egg. The great serpent shall swim free devouring everything along its path....

I am an Uradugr . A soul of many blessed by the gods. We are their tools to cleanse our realms of all sorts of madness.
The gods have spoken to me, the mountain sheltering my village have birthed a Marlderr . A giant of stone and death. I must impress the gods and kill it. Their Ire shall be quelled after its death.

My wife pleads, calling my attempt to appease the gods 'madness and a man's folly'. I am doing this for the sake of my wife, my unborn child and the whole village; the giant churning in the mountain's womb will get out someday, it will everyone in its path.

It must be done.

Before my venture to the heart of the mountain, I must visit the Ossbjarg, a stone dropped by the god's grace near my village. Their runes shall bless me in my journey; one for my head, two for my shoulders, one for my axe and one for my shield. There are other gods but they either view my kin as a vermin unworthy of their attention or they are the fathers and mothers of all evil, shunned by other gods...

___________

Pick five runes for Head, shoulders, axe and shield. Each will provide either a offensive or a defensive bonus to our hero.

>Zusna [Goddess of nature and beauty]
>Risea [God of Fortune and Misfortune]
>Uldmerr [Goddess of betrayal and trickery]
>Yalmir [God of death and war]
>Livendae [Goddess of the sea and wind]
>Vadenikhane [God of Sun and Warmth]
>Yalmyar [Goddess of war and disease]
>Teflamenn [God of thunder and the sky]
> Mulketr [Goddess of the wild and the hunt]
>Oorfieran [God of the void and naught]

Yalmir...

The god of war, He could not share the pain of death by himself and so he split his soul. Thus Yalmyar was born. Together as weds, they govern death, disease and war.

Offensive : Cry Yalmyar's name to induce Panic and fear of death to your enemies.

Livendae....

Goddess of the sea of wind, the herald of my kin in her domain of the sea. She is a cruel mistress saving some while swallowing others. The great serpent dares and defile her waters....

Defensive : Erect a sheet of water above your shoulders, will protect you against various projectiles and others.

Vadenikhane....

God of Sun and Warmth, A gentle god who provide happiness to everyone around him. His wrath however is unforgiving and ruthless.

Offensive : A burst of light shall blind everyone within its vicinity.

Teflamenn...

The Lone god of the skies. Isolation suits him well as his presence shall harm everyone around him. Thunder is but his divine tears.

Offensive : Your axe will strike foes one with Teflamenn's tear.

Mulkertr

Goddess of the wild and the hunt. A goddess with an unprecedented beauty. Some say she guise herself as the most elusive game. Should a hunter catches her, she shall bed with him.

Defensive : A would be-deathblow shall render you invisible for a limited time.
>>
The runes are set. I can feel their powers surging inside me. Today i shall please the gods. I shall dedicate my kill to one of these five....

The skies are sunless as i make my way to the mountain in the heart of the forest. The hunters chose to abandon this part of the forest; They spoke of a recent curse that turned the wolves mad and vile. They won't attack to fill their bellies. No....

'ts for the sake of blood and blood only.

Howls, heart-eating howls in the air. Tears of
Teflamenn dances on the tip of my axe. This no curse...this is the giant's undoing. It is using the wolves as mere pawns to protect the entrance to the mountain's womb. Be it Wolves or Serpents of old, naught shall stop me.

A lone wolf. With eyes of stone, it was unnatural. The beast was revisiting an old corpse of an unfortunate traveler . Why is it alone? Is it hunger that dictate its action? Is this a ruse set for me?

I may scare the thing, it may flee to its brethren or may be the entrance of the womb? It's death is more tempting for certain. Cowardice is not in my blood but i may let it live, i can trail its shadow in silence.

I....

>charged onwards
>Scared the wolf off. chased it
>Followed Mulkertr's steps, trailed the wolf's shadow.
