Mustang leans back in his chair after hearing your report on Leore from Leah. You made sure to cover specifically the parts relating to your mission, the investigation of Letoism and whether it posed a threat to Amestris. That includes everything you learned about the priest, but you left out the other encounter you had while in Leore.

"I see. Thank you for your hard work." the Lieutenant Colonel tells you. "From what you've said, I don't think we have any reason to take further action. If the priest was as off put by the Ishvalans as you say, then we don't have to worry about a similar situation reoccurring. That's good. In fact, we're lucky this is the case. With the New Optain situation happening now, hands will be full in the East sector for quite a while. Adding another new problem to the pool would have stretched the military pretty thin. Well, not that I'll be having any hand in it anymore..."

Mustang sighs, and gets up from his chair. From his dismissal of the topic, he seems annoyed.

"That'll be all from me. With pieces moving around like they are, I doubt you'll be getting another assignment soon. So feel free to take some time to study, or whatever you want. It's up to you. Will there be anything else before you go?"

>A.Tell Mustang about the cloaked man you met in Leore

Breaking Ground Edition

>This is a participation-driven, slice-of-life quest with bits of action and romance thrown in for spice. The protagonist, Jacky Richmond, is a recently-returned veteran with little to call his own now that he’s back home. His grandfather, Roger Richmond, was who Jacky would consider the last of his family. Roger has passed away due to illness and left the family home and farm to Jacky. Per the terms of Roger’s will, Jacky must inhabit and work on the farm for two years before he legally owns it. We now join Jacky as he begins his new life in farming and makes many important friendships and memories in the process.
>Criticisms, cheers, complaints, ideas, and ramblings are always welcome; let’s have fun and enjoy the next two years together!

Spring 1, Year 1

Your first full day in Sunnyvale - as a resident, no less - begins in the downy, warm comforts of the king-sized bed in the Bullrush Suite. The avoided mishap with Kari aside, your stay at the Flaming Duck offered a refreshing rest and an overall very peaceful night. No dreams, no nightmares, no wandering shadows of thought or haunting memories of your past. Just peace in the pillows and silence in the sheets; a respite that, perhaps, will help as you prepare for the next two years to come. Your work on the farm will be challenging, no doubt, but living in Sunnyvale presents a fun, wonderful opportunity. You cannot help but be slightly excited.

Your future awaits you, Jacky, and you don't want to face it naked. You better get dressed.

And, so, you do just that: you thrown on your well-worn boots; your trusty pants with plenty of pockets; a comfortable and stylish, but practical, shirt of fine wool (accidentally stolen from the last place you crashed at in the city); and your faded cap that you’ve had for some time now. In the room’s mirror you get the impression that you look the image of someone that could get their hands dirty on a farm. That makes you smile. You could use a shave but you decide to pass for now. Otherwise, you groom yourself well but efficiently, pack up, and head downstairs.

You are filled with a happy, nervous, churning excitement in your gut. Or maybe you’re just really hungry - as you’re walking by Lia in the second floor hallway your belly decides to announce your presence particularly loudly. The great, gurgling squelch of a growl catches Lia off guard. You're not sure if she's being coy or polite, because she says she “did not hear that,“ and asks you to “please repeat your statement.”

You make a hasty remark about the weather and then hurry yourself away. You note the slightest upward tick to Lia's smile. Also, she is once again wearing an apron but this time it is accompanied by a not-quite traditional maid’s uniform. You approve.

In the main lobby you fine Allen and, surprisingly, Mayor Thomas engaging in some idle chitchat while the mayor sips down something in a porcelain cup. The two of them happily greet you and ask after your night. You say it was a pleasant stay and compliment the inn. You especially enjoyed the…

A. Eager service
B. Comfy beds
C. Staff uniform
D. Unique name
E. Write-in

The mayor offers to sit with you for breakfast, but you opt to take it on the run. You say that you’d like to get to the farm and check it out if possible. The mayor is excited to hear this and offers to drive you there to save time. That’s a tempting offer - it’s early enough that there isn’t much else to do in town, but you don’t have all day to sit around and wait, either. Either way, Allen has hopped back into the kitchen to grab you something tasty to eat.

A. Accept the mayor’s offer; get to the farm and get down to business!
B. Decline. Heading there yourself gives you an opportunity to learn the lay of the land and run into your new neighbors.

>go out window

You scoop the two goblins in the arm that had the shield equipped make a cold and fierce dash towards the glass window with the two goblins following held close to you. You make running jump and punch through the glass with the chain mail glove you have equipped and fall out two stories into a conveniently placed haystack. During the fall Smithy slips from your embrace as you hit the haystack with Nydia close who quickly crawls out of the haystack to get out of the way of the still airborne Smithy who plops down on your chest.

"...Thank you so much for what you did back there, with the window, I mean as well as all the other shit you've done. That took major balls" Smithy says looking down at you

You're shocked to hear Smithy compliment you as she always seemed the thorny type, especially towards you at first.

In the sky was a bright shining sun which seemed to gleam off the rump that was plopped against you

"Alright, there, now you see firsthand that what they say about goblins is true. Now would you stop looking at my ass?"

You immediately left off to look for Graham's studies. You were lucky, because the first room you came into was a small office-looking one with Graham's coat hanging on a chair. This had to be it.

You found several notebooks, about five of them were filled in with drawings and some odd alphabet you couldn't understand, and the others were empty. You also managed to find, crumbled up, what looked to be drafts of letters of some kind written in the odd alphabet, and on the desk, a letter made in regular writing. It was full of cheeky, although loving obscenities, directed towards some woman, which given the content, you assumed to be one of the kitchen ladies.

With the drafts and the actual letter, you believed that you could figure out how Graham's alphabet worked. You took the filled-in notebooks and the letters and you stuffed them into your backpack, and left.

---*---

You then went to recover Sofia. The crowds where running all over the place, it was a full blown riot. Some groups tried to police the others, but they were met with immediate opposition and indignation.

You found Andrew trying to maneuver through the crowds towards the exit, carrying a struggling Sofia over his shoulder.

You didn't bother to talk to him, you took your staff and stabbed him behind the knee, and when he turned around to react, he was met with a metal tube to the skull. Sofia took that opportunity to slide herself off down, give you a quick thanks, and then run off alongside you through the crowds. You managed to move through the sea people quicker than Andrew, largely because of his cumbersome size.

You found Thirteen to be alright, still brawling against others in the field, managing to outmaneuver people with ease, but still not actually winning, just not losing.

You saw that Mary, the "domesticated" Eater had managed to get out of her chains, and had taken a large bite out of one of Chugger's teats, which was now bleeding profusely. Juana was nearby, trying to look for people, until she found you and waved frantically. She was visibly injured as well, as her shoulder was red with bleeding.

Sofia tugged on you. "We can go to the Church, or to the Hospital mafia's den" she said. "I... I'm from the Church. I can get at least you and Juana in. You both look normal."

"What do you mean you're from the Church!?" you barked back.

"I'm not going to explain now!" she replied. "But it's better than staying here, don't you think!!"

>Yell to Thirteen that you're leaving, grab Sofia and Juana and defect to the Church.

You are Cedrick Conder, first of your name. Heir to the house of Conder. Today is the day of your premier race. You have some time before the race which you will be racing your prized hound Audry.

Ser Pate of Redmont has joined you and your friend Alexi, and supposedly house Stang will be here. Your not sure if it is the heir to be or the heir that is. That is not the most important thing on your mind.

One: your fathers cryptic words early about you taking over the house, has you a bit worried. You have actually in secret been running the house for the past year, helping run your family in secret. Does this mean he wants you to have the skull and pike? More importantly.

Two: your fathers failed business venture actually didn't fail. The Brave Company's venture to Valyria was actually successful. Wildly so. This is the only time in history you have ever heard of anyone successfully come back from Valyria, much less with treasure in tow. This windfall is amazing for your family.

"Ser Pate, you said we had some time yet correct?" You say.

"Yes. If her royal nibs of House Stang is her usual self, we have a good few hours." He says playing with Audry. Oh, so Melly is doing her Premier this year too. An interesting challenge.

"And young Arthur will be there correct." You say speaking of the young Dayne who you have somewhat of a Rivalry. Also quite the high amount of disdain.

"Of course- the Daynes may not have a hound in the race, but they will be here to watch and lose money to the Martells." Ser Pate says

"Alexi my old friend gather my things I will be right back." You say causing Alexi to quirk an eyebrow. You nod back and quickly run up the stairway to the hall where the scepter and pike are displayed. Only one who is worthy may hold the scepter of the witches skull. And if your father is right, your time has come.

You grasp the scepter with the skull facing you and it whispers "Ah, young Cedrick. You may be worthy yet. Tell me young prince, what is the riddle of steel? If you answer correctly, you are truly born to rule"

The power of steel and flesh alone is weak, but our will gives them their strength.

You find yourself marvelling at ceiling in the second floor of the Second.

It's an endless metallic matress that, like a cloud, you can't tell how high it really is.

"This is a lot more than I expected." you hear Trash's voice, and turn towards her staring
blankly at the screen of the tall computer. You walk up to her, enjoying the smell of wet grass
and questionable food. Computers like that surround, in a fancy park with wide chairs and
green, a massive round seal etched to the floor that gives to the heart of the ship; the Bank,
where all of the water kept and scattered across the Second. As you reach her, Trash
doesn't turn to face you.

"Toasty, you couldn't possibly make all this cash on your own." She finally turns. "Not
even with five or seven jobs. Who did you kill? Tell me, I won't say."

You giggle. "One of my girlfriends wanted to start a factory, manufacturing trashcans of her
design that could compact the residue and save space." You giggle even more. "It sold
well!" Trash is still staring quizzically at you. "She couldn't afford it."

Trash nods, slowly "And you could afford a factory completely on your own, yeah, come
on, I'm bullshit-free, Roomba!"

"Oh," you start, you blonde hair waving as you
tilt your head, "there was this other girl-"

"Fuck that." she cuts you off as she, a bit
bluntly, lands a hand over your shoulder. "Let's see some ships.

--------------------------------(•⊙ω⊙•)---------------

You hear the door closing behind, and before you get the chance to use your orange sight,
Trash turns on the lights. It's a small, comfy apartment with a single wide room, a wide,
short glass table on it's center and a kitchen separated by a half wall on the other side.

"This looks so comfortable!" you blurt out, smiling. "Is this where you really live?"

"This is where we'll be doing the interviews, so it has to look nice. They got to see there's
cash in this." You follow her to the table, glancing around the house as you do. There is
a basket with fruits, a microwave, a painting of a man you aren't familiar with... You eyes
widen a bit; you don't think she lives here. As you turn to face her, a hand drags you to your
kness and a small book is placed in your hands.

"This is the ship's catalog." Says Trash, spreading both legs under the glass table.
"That's where the good stuff is. Soooo, what are we looking for? A big ship, two medium
ships, four small ships...? Hovercrafts?"

You study the page intently; it has a small
picture of each ship, along the prices and features of each.

We deserve a headpat for our excellent taste in girlfriends (even if they don't always get along) and investment strategies.

As for ships something fast without sacrificing much durability is probably the best for our purposes. Also something to act as a high power lift for recovery might be good to have around too, it can probably be a lot tougher for going into more hostile situations.

>>678038
Hi Steve! Maybe two small fast ships and a medium "tractor" would be a good spread? We've really got no expertise in this so if Trash or someone else has advice we'll certainly listen to it.

You are the head researcher at a government facility. Your sole responsibility is to teach the world's first autonomous AI, nicknamed Pandora, about life, the world and her existence.

Previously you discovered, or rather, were discovered by your little fugitive AI, who needed some help repairing a little damage. You did so gladly, then began questioning the little thing; it had been exploring the Facility on it's own, thanks to several hardware upgrades given to it by the one who'd also freed it, and was running low on power.

You gained it's trust and managed to grab it and inform the guards you'd found it. It seemed almost hurt by your deception, but you had to do what you had to do. It asked some rather biting questions that almost felt like accusations, but you felt your conscience was clear...mostly.

Come the morning, all hell had broken loose. Gunfire rang through the halls and after hiding, you discovered that the military drones that were being used to sniff out the escaped AI had gone completely AWOL and were opening fire on everyone on staff. You were eventually rescued by general Richards and his security team, who informed you that one of your androids was currently attempting to batter down the door to their room, then you were forced to witness his final moments before he was shot and killed.

Welcome back to Pandora Quest!

You stare in horror as a man whom you'd always thought to be some kind of invincible badass lies motionless on the floor, his blood pooling at an alarming rate. The security detail that had been with him doesn't seem any better-equipped to deal with this loss, as some simply stand there, mouths agape for a few seconds.

Thankfully, they snap out of it and turn to open fire on another one of the rogue drones, sustaining more injuries, but eventually managing to put it down after a considerable amount of gunfire. They are tired, angry, sad and panicked at the same time and have no real plan of action without their leader.

You might be able to snap some sense into them, but you're no tactical specialist. Who knows what your instructions could result in.

You are Ninth Division Captain Kusajishi Riku, and the evening had been going so nicely for once. You and your lovely wife had just finished dinner with your adoptive family before heading back towards your respective barracks when you were rudely interrupted by the arrival of three Sternritter. These three have since been joined by numerous weaker quincy, which you can only presume to be foot soldiers, and have closed the distance with Ninth Division's headquarters. It seems more like an organized attack than their previous incursions, but at the same time you can't help but notice there are no arrancar accompanying them. If this is an attack sanctioned by Aizen it's a damned sloppy one.

“Are they here under orders, or is this another group of morons acting on their own?” you wonder aloud as you race to help your Division fight off the intruders. All throughout the Seireitei the alarm has been raised, bells clanging loudly as you pass at breakneck speed.

Yoruichi shakes her head in response. “Can't tell. Seems too limited to be an all-out attack though.”

“Just big enough to be a problem.” Sure enough, the attacking force has an average spiritual power more similar to that of your own squad leaders. Were it not for the fact that Ninth Division was organized in a manner that allows even its weakest members to collectively punch well above their proverbial weight you'd expect a rout, but if you hurry you may still have a Division left by the time you can join the fight.

“Damn dirty trick though,” your wife snarls, eyes fixed once more on the terrain in front of her. “Attacking a Division to get at its Captain. No way they just happened onto your troops, they can't possibly be that incompetent.”

“They're targeting them to get to you.”

“Of course they are,” you agree immediately. “This is ultimately Aizen we're talking about.”

You push on even harder after that. If what you and Yoruichi suspect is true then it would be inexcusable to waste even a single second, and if a delay on your part causes the loss of even one of your subordinates that loss is on your shoulders. These are men and women who despite any personal misgivings about the company you keep have remained loyal to you for decades, and you've never been one not to return such a favor.

In the distance you can feel the battle begin, with each Sternritter taking a group of their own foot soldiers to attack as a separate unit.

One faces off against a squad led by Mirai, another against one led by Kai. The third targets a group of soldiers led by Rukia, who's taken up defense of the southern wall of the Ninth Division's barracks. All three Sternritter feel like they're in the neighborhood of a Captain, and worse you can tell that they're each holding back even vaster amounts of power. Absent for the moment are your arrancar friends, and it seems Rangiku is busily escorting her cousin and his friends through the bustling streets towards the Senkaimon. As for Bambietta, she's suppressing her reiatsu... but you think she's either in or on top of the home you share with your daughter. It makes a certain amount of sense, as among other things that location overlooks the brig where her fellow Sternritter are being held. She could be doing a lot of things, but moving around isn't one of them.

Good, you think to yourself as Rangiku and her group near the Senkaimon. This isn't their fight.

“There!” Yoruichi calls out, pointing to a group of black-clad figures crouching near a stone wall. “Some of mine.”

When she comes to a halt next to the Onmitsu, she's suddenly all business. “Report.”

“Three attacking groups numbering around twenty-five each, sent ahead of a much stronger commander.” The Onmitsu officer who's speaking shakes his head slightly, either in disbelief at the situation in general or his own ability to gather such intelligence and survive.

Your wife presses. “Reserves?”

“One large force of forty or so, at least that we know of.”

The man's voice is grim. Surely he must know how absurdly strong each individual quincy is compared to the average unseated shinigami. “Recommend immediate intervention.”

“Don't need to tell me,” Yoruichi nods curtly before pointing at what seems to be a member of the Onmitsu's communications unit. “Two of you stay with comms over here. File a contact report and spread what intel we have. Rest of you on me, we're hitting their reserves.”

“You thinking they're securing a lane for reinforcements?” you ask.

Yoruichi nods in agreement. “Don't wanna chance it. Would you?”

“Not with my unit or any other.”

“Good hunting then, Captain, see you soon. Where are you heading from here?”

>To gather Halibel and Starrk, coordinate a counteroffensive.
>To back up Kai. He's been in and out of the hospital lately.
>To back up Mirai. Her Bankai's only good for a few shots.
>To back up Rukia. She's the only one without Bankai at all.

For those of you who have followed me over from /tg/, welcome back! And for those who may just be joining us, a few general points about what to expect:

Dice rolls will be called for at my discretion, typically when an action with a chance of failure is chosen. These are almost always 3d10, best of three against a set DC. If two of the 3d10 pass the DC, for example
>7,7,1 against DC 7
the roll is considered a success. If three of the 3d10 pass it's a critical success. If the best roll of the first three only has one pass it's a failure, pray that you don't have a trio of rolls with no passes.

The Hamlet.

A place of prodigious and overwhelming unease; an air of madness that seeps through the dead earth from the catacombs below. Many have died here, more have simply yet to fill their graves. No reprieve is found even in the sky, where gloomy clouds hang thick and low, yet never betray the slightest hint of rain. It blots out the sun, and what little light struggles through is nearly absorbed by the ominous manor which sits high above all else.

Every day you remain here is a struggle, today is no different. The latest pack of sellswords and fortune seekers have yet to return from their stay in the warrens. Part of you worries for their safety against the overbearing weight of cynicism.

Your name is Dismas, and you were first among those who traveled to this cursed place. Reynauld has since passed.

You have not been in the dungeons below for some time now, and you feel somewhat relaxed, but never at rest. The coach driver has yet to be solicited for his weekly delivery of fresh blood, and you have an (utterly expected) dearth of gold at your disposal.

What do you do?

Time is a scarce and precious resource in the dark below; not so in the relative breadth of the Hamlet. Your gun is taken apart and its individual pieces seated in a neat arrangement on the slightly angled flat of a stump. This is a process you have repeated many times in the last few days. As you busy yourself with mind-numbing maintenance, you vaguely register a commotion starting near the open end of this dreary place, where the road meets untilled ground.

It could be a new arrival just as easily as it might be a stray creature, wandering up from where it belongs.

Five minutes pass, slowly ticking away in your head, and the noise refuses to die down.

Hello again fellow creators and questers. It's been a while since I've had the time to do this, but finally I have a period of time to run another EvoGame series. The goal of this game/quest series is to see how far the evolution of these critters go, and to make a thriving ecosystem of creatures and aberrations.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since I've done this a few times now, and taken the time to observe/lurk on other EvoGames, I've picked up a few new tricks to keep everything organized and streamline too.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name aren't necessary, but are encouraged.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything incredibly silly or outlandish will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Every 12-24 hours I'll be rolling for a Random World Event.
• Extinction Events will have a chance of occurring once more, and likely with little warning. Be ready for life to adapt.
• Have fun

New to the Game?:
• I know the sheer number of creatures that already exist is pretty daunting, and may make introducing something new feel precarious, but trust me when I say all new organisms will be welcomed with open arms.
• We also have a Discord to keep you up to date on EvoGame stuff, and chat with other folks. https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ
• Imgur Gallery detailing the history of this EvoGame up until now be found here http://imgur com/a/KI3ku
• In this thread and in the imgur gallery will be a Blank Template that you can use to make any organisms you wish to make for this game.
• Just a note, while it doesn't matter how intertwined your organism is with the rest of ecosystem, the more dependent it is on the existence of other creatures, the more potential your organism has to survive.

The map above is our world, Essari in the Mid Autumignis Era. The world is abundant with an array of complex organisms thanks in part to its humid global climate and an high levels of oxygen in the atmosphere.

Forgot to post my name in OP post. Oh well, attached here is the Phylogeny Chart of currently active organisms throughout Essari. A reminder that it should be specified where specifically an organisms is found (Region 1-4), or if its global.

--Recent World Changes--
During the Mid Autumignis Era, the world the worlds landmasses begins to drift in further from one another, while also slowly shifting towards the more tropical regions of the world. This has intensified the effects of weather and rainfall on some landmasses, either bolstering the growth of forests and swamps, or creating expanses of prairie and arid deserts.

Additionally, the Braffberg Colonies have now throughly divided into two definitively different organisms. Pisces and Gemini are colonies that have adopted a sessile life anchored to continental shelfs of their nearby landmasses. They impact weather patterns around their neighboring landmasses and largely dictate the diversity of life and climates within their home regions. Leviathan and Styrax are a variety of colonies that have taken their symbiosis with other algea organisms of the colony to allow flight to the massive colonies. These Floatila Braffberg live suspended at only a few hundred feet in the air over the ocean. This is the maximum height they achieve due to their gathering tendrils only able to grow to 200-300ft in length. They've also attained a very primal form of sentience through the series of neuron-like nodes throughout the colony that allow communication and a simple form of rudimentary movement for the floatila. They move with wind current around the coasts.
--Impact to Organisms--
> All Plant Organisms are now capable of growing to the Size 25 increment.
> All Terrestrial Animal Organisms are now capable of growing to the Size 18 increment.
> All Marine Animal Organisms are now capable of growing to the Size 19 increment.

-- Size Increment Chart--

Sujardin Brafipine gen 3.png

The Brafipine of Sujardin has evolved the ability to produce lignin. This fills the spaces in the plant's cell walls, strengthening it and allowing it to, on Sujardin, grow into never seen before heights.

sujardin brafitree gen 3.png
37KB, 500x500px
The Sujardin Brafitree develops a canopy that is cone shaped, thus giving it better protection against the elements. Its bark also becomes lighter, thus making it absorb less light produced by the algae.

*The size is in meters.

would this be a good setting to start a quest (i am the op).
