How is the Sony a6000? I'm currently using a Pentax Q and I'm a bit tired of its bad quality sometimes. The photos usually look worse than my iphone. Especially when using it for making a video.
Is the a6000 the way to go? I want something not too big so I can easily bring it wherever I go.

The Sony is too advanced for you.
Just take my word for it.

Yeah, probably the best price:performance camera. Can't go wrong with it.
Post where you do most of your editing. I finally picked up a new desk, it was a much needed improvement over my shitty Ikea desk that barely fit my monitor.

Respect the analog struggle. I've got a ghetto darkroom setup on one of those 9-foot fold out tables in my garage for B&W prints, but I haven't shot a roll a film since I went digital. Wish I still had my picture of my darkroom, I literally just deleted it when I upgraded to Windows 10.

Hey /p/ this is my first time on this board. I often get told that I take good photos. Which is surprising because I don't know of someone's being genuine or not and because I rarely do take any photos. I was hoping that maybe you guys can tell me if they are good or not. I took all of these on my iPhone 6. Because of the comments I get I've been considering getting a professional camera. Sadly I don't know enough about photography to know what camera I'd want. But even then I don't even know if any of these pictures are good. Feel free to criticize.

Where do I learn actual shit about photography in the most efficient manner that will make me much more successful?
I'm sick and tired of simply shooting in automatic, I'm too ignorant/don't understand ISO,compusure, aperture or any of those words (in my mind I justify it by thinking I'm """good enough already""")... yet I do seem to have an eye for a shot, I want to take it to the next level.

overpriced
Great glass for a p&s, be prepared to pay out the ass because of hipster tax. And when I say "out the ass" I mean as much as a proper film SLR and a couple of great lenses.
If you find it in a thrift store or garage sale and it's cheap then go for it.

I was looking back on the pictures I've been taking in the past year and I've made a shocking discovery. I'm a creep with a camera. All this time and effort, and I haven't shot anything meaningful.I know it sounds like a joke, but I feel genuinely depressed about it.

Try talking to your subjects and make street portraits instead, or make peace with the fact that there is no expectation of privacy in public and photography is by nature a marriage of document and expression.

Hi,
I have a fuji x100f, and use sooc jpegs, however quite often my colours seem to blur together into weird blob like shapes like seen here. it's a 100% crop from about 1/6 of the frame.
Is my camera at fault or is this as expected?

Are you using the Fine quality setting for JPGs? At least in my X-A2 the Normal setting compresses the stuff more than necessary, especially in scenes with lots of fine details like grass in your photo
