Need to decide between 70d or 80d.
I know theyre shit compared to 4k mirrorless cameras but I prefer Canon.
Both cameras have very similar specs.
The 80d would be more for video with the headphone jack, but I could live without one if it meant saving a good 200$.
I'm looking to get the body used off amazon or eBay. The lowest I've seen the 70d go for on amazon was 550$ and the 80d was about 780$.
But what does /p/ think?

fuck off sony shill moopco
>4k mirrorless
as sonytards could shoot anything worth looking at regardless of how many fucking Ks its got
>>3121344
I had the same decision to make not long ago. I hadn't had a new camera body since 2006 or so. I went with the 80D, with no regrets.
Can someone explain hyoerfocal distance to me. Am retard.

*Hyper. Like I said
The closer you get to the subject, smaller your DOF gets.
The distance to the closest object that is in focus when you focus your lens to infinity.
or
The distance to the closest object that is in focus when you focus your lens such that the objects at infinity are in focus.
In focus means that the circle of confusion is smaller than your sensor pixel.
WHICH ONE SHOULD I TAKE
EPSON V550 or CANON 9000F Mark II?
Which one of those two is less of a piece of crap?
And NO, I can't afford a nikon coolscan
bump
damn I can't still decide which one to take
neither, lab scanning is the way to go
>>3121054
you don't know what you're talking about.
OP: I have the v500 and it's fine. Just don't expect to print huge from 35mm using it.
Old thread reached the bump limit

Here we discuss techniques, gear and anything else related to capturing video footage. Please don't pretend to be an expert if you don't know what you're talking about.
Posting short films or other work you've done is encouraged.
We tend to use and recommend DSLRs/mirrorless cameras because they provide phenomenal picture quality for their price, have large sensors (ie the same size used in high-end cinema cameras and higher) and have interchangeable lenses.
In contrast, consumer camcorders normally have much smaller sensors and a fixed lens.

Was Turin horse shot on digital?
>>3102634
according to imdb it was shot on 35mm on the Arriflex 535B
so no?
the film stock is at the back of the camera though so i think it's just hidden in the pic
>>3102639
Ah fair enough
Didn't take Tarr for a digital fiend
very amateur photographer. (enter cliche "i've loved taking pictures since i was a kid reeeee" statement here)
at the moment i don't have much money to spend on Photoshop or other high quality photo editors, and I pretty much just like to touch up on colors, shades, light filters and stuff.
is there any kind of specific software /p/ suggests? i've been lurking for a few days but i haven't really seen much, other than photoshop.
right now i've installed GIMP (feel like a classic case of newfag for doing so), PaintShop and Photo Pos Pro.
Should i stick to these, or is there anything else I should pick up?
>>3120763
If you're familiar with torrenting software, you could just torrent CS6 or one of the older versions of photoshop before they started doing the whole monthly fee nazi garbo.
Or just shoot 35mm lol... the money you'll save on gear will more than cover the cost of film/developing.
>>3120764
i gotcha i'll take a look into CS6, i hadn't even thought of that.
in a few months i'll be able to actually buy gear instead of using a phone, that'll also make everything easier.

Get the trial for Photoshop then do this.

You should really try to get into Photoshop it Will be worth it in the end.
Don't start with film by the way, getting feedback with your rolls of film will take way too long to start learning. Start with digital and maybe look if your family has an old camera you can use.
Got this old yashica electro 35 gsn. The battery chamber had corrosion, which I am planning to clean. It was so bad the cap was stuck that I had to open it from the bottom.
This ring on top of the chamber was so corroded that it came off. How can I fix/replace it if even possible?
It was connected to two red wires.

it may be a dud, if possible you could always buy a broken one for parts, but it's need a lot of work to fix
you'd need basic soldering skills, some new parts, which probably isn't worth repairing

Trash.
That's what I thought, thanks y'all.
Just random photos I taken to remember what this place was like

Honestly if you desperately needed a little more light this would work, especially with those app store flashlight apps that seem to really push the screens to maximum powah

Hey guys, i've been taking photos for 2 years now, i've never taken pics of someone (i'm into street photography mainly)
But i met a girl who saw my pics and wants to pay me for a simple street photoshoot
How can i know how to charge her? I don't have any clue on how to fucking price my service.
>pic related is not mine, obviously, but i'ts beautiful
Charge for how long you think you'll spend on it times some hourly rate.
For a shoot like that I'd bill something like four hours, maybe six after editing. Since you're new and I'm guessing aren't going to charge professional rates, I'd go with $20-25 per hour. So that somewhere between $80-$150. I'd stick closer to the $150 end.

>generic Japanese street shot
Wait, this is considered good?
I mean, the clouds are nice, but otherwise it is a boring street.
Tested out thrift store camera. Results = It's fucked lmao. Dumping.
