What's the point of camping if you have no one to share the experience with? I just want someone to bond with over a comfy campfire.
Has anyone ever tried taking a hooker out for a night of camping? I've tried it a couple of times with no success.
How much did she charge for that? Assuming your not just trying to be funny.
>>893009
You asked a hooker to go out camping with you and are surprised when she shot you down?
She probably thought you were going to murder her and bury her in the oh-so-convenient woods.
>>893023
No one has accepted any of my offers yet.
Went jeeping today on forest service road 288 and on some other assorted roads. Took some cool pictures.
bump for interest.
>>892932
please post some. thanks
woke up yesterday with a tick bite, today it looks like this. It feels fine, mildly itchy. had lymes before and this looks different, but usually tick bites don't leave much of a mark. is this normal?
>>892583
Shit, OP, I think you caught the gays.
>>892593
uh oh
>>892583
Could be a spider bite. Usually we don't feel bug bites but feel the alergic reaction after it already happened
Hi /out/, I'm going backpacking in the Netherlands and surrounds from Jan-June. Coming from Australia. What do I need to bring in terms of clothes/jackets? I don't have anything warmer than a thick hoodie and a fur coat. keep in mind i'm a poor-ass student.
>>892541
Fleece is a good way to stay warm cheap, you can layer it under a windbreaker/rain shell as necessary. I don't think it usually gets super duper cold in the Netherlands
a thick hoodie can get you through alot, but as the other anon said, get a 40dollar fleece and a 100 shell, and you are set for anything other than mountain climbing. and even then, that will get you by in nice weather.
the netherlands is aa little farther north than me, but I am coastal in the us. and a hoodie works for alot of stuff. only downside is it is heavy
What's the best park to hike while high?
better park your ass at home, smoky.
don't wanna be another statistic, do ya?
>>892344
Central Park NYC, fucking dope head.
Go Trump yourself!
I only smoke small doses of indica and took that picture while on a hike in Colorado.
What will happen to federally owned land under a GOP president and congress?
will probably allow companies to apply for rights to "capitalize" on the untapped resources. ironically many of them will probably be foreign/offshore/chinese corporations and all the resources harvested will be shipped to china anyway.
it's gonna be great.
It all gets sold to federal land owners.

>What will happen to federally owned land under a GOP president and congress?
National Forests get created.
Which is the worst national park and why is it Great Smoky mountain national park?
20 miles of cracker barrels, water parks and souvenir stands as you drive towards the entrance is the best part
Any national forest in California
>no fires
What's the point of even going /out/?
>>888794
Aside from the 4 in southern california, almost all of them have lifted restrictions completely. Going next weekend! Not sure what you're on about.
Biscayne NP is the most boring park in existence
I'm a brit bong and I feel I need to pick up a new hobby, none of my friends are interested though.
Just wanted to ask if solo camping is good/dangerous.
start with hiking, move to camping once you're experienced enough with your native flora and fauna.
It's fine. You mostly don't get murdered.
>>885767
This.
I've been doing this for years and have hardly ever been murdered
Let's talk about hammocks.
Remember, this is a happy hammock thread.
>>875836
1. buy any brand parachute hammock
2. make sure its a double or has a bug net
3. ???
4. going /out/ isnt that hard
>>875836

>>875838
T. Never slept in a hammock
Do you bring a hip flask with you when out?
Post it. Also, whiskey is the patrician liquor.
I bring whiskey, yes, but not in some faggy whiskey fedora like that.
>>875385
>faggy whiskey fedora
Stop labeling everything that has a bit of craftsmanship in it as "fedora". You'll end up being seen as immature forever.
>>875383
Cool whiskey purse. I've always thought about carrying one but my large masculine ballsnget in the way.
Anyone into this lately?
I am thinking on starting a project o build my own caravan, i was into buying an old one and restoring it, but at the cost they sell the old ones i can make one from scratch much much cheaper.

I bought a used popup camper for $2,200. Cleaned it up and replaced the mattress. Have only taken it out once since I got it. I'm thinking of spending up to $10K on a 15-20 foot camper to keep permanently at a campground where I keep my boat during the 3 seasons. There's people that actually live in campers there year around. Costs $20/week + electric
>>896150
yes thats the luxury option, my way or either refurbishing or now.. building one from scratch is more of the cheap option
>>896152
You can build your pic related for less than $2,200? My pop up is smaller than that.
Are there any good 0 degree back packing sleeping bags in the $150 range? So far this is the best I could find but from what I can tell it is way too bulky.

Depends if you are talking metric or retard.
if you're from europe, you might wanna check out cumulus sleeping bags. I don't know if they offer shipping to the us...
http://sleepingbags-cumulus.eu/
I'm pretty sure you won't get better stuff for the price. it's a polish company btw
http://www.harborfreight.com/60-inch-x-80-inch-wool-blanket-92625.html
$10 wool blanket has kept me warm, and dry in all my camping trips.
Worst I had to deal with was about mid 20's F in a desert. It got really, really cold one night.
I wouldnt bother with a special sleeping bag, just wrap yourself in one of those on top, and you will be golden
Why the fuck are Hilleberg tents so damn expensive? Pic related, about $600 from moosejaw.
>>895918
>4 season
>made in europe
>high quality materials
>small family company
>people are willing to pay it
>>895918
I keep seeing people talk about these 1 man tents or the shelters that use trekking poles. Aren't they heavier than just using a tarp? Reason I mention weight it so many /out/ists are "ultralighters".
>>895938
3 season, but otherwise that makes sense I guess. I was looking for a good one-person tent and got thrown by the price. Thanks for the input!
I'll post the actual questions in the next posts, I just had to use my phone for the picture.
OP here.
Ok so me and my brother are going to colorado and do some winter camping. Hes made of bucks so hes got the whole kifaru setup and all that fancy shit, sadly I have a budget so Im forced to buy...shittier gear. The question is, is there any way to make it better for cheap?
I got this extreme cold weather, sleeping bag (rated to 0degree F) military sleeping bag for 25 bucks because the zipper was broke. I ended up fixing the zipper, so thats out of the way, but Im worried about it getting wet in the snow. Can I use camp dry on the thing to keep it from sucking up water? I cant find a bivy sack anywhere or else Id just do that. Will a tarp work?
Also I guess Tips and tricks for poorfags thread?
assuming you'll be in a tent, just line the bottom of the tent with a tarp and put your sleeping bag on top and you'll be fine. Make sure to put whatever clothes you're going to wear the next day in your sleeping bag with you too, so they're already body temperature when you put them on.
>>895737
>Ok so me and my brother are going to colorado and do some winter camping
Sure you are. Post pics of your hotel room when you get there
