What do you have against drag racing?
It's quite literally the most technologically advancing sport in all of car culture.
Formula 1 is held back, Formula E is slow as fuck, Group B is dead, and every other series has boring as fuck rules.

You go to a 1320 strip and you've got guys who have put literally the best they can afford into their engine connected to basically a tubular body and some big ass tires in the back. Who gives a fuck if they're barely cars anymore and can't turn for shit or maybe can't even idle?
They're getting entire nuclear powerplants of horsepower in those mere moments it takes to cross the line.

So what are you? A car fag who wants to "feel the road" or an actual fucking car enthusiast who wants to be on the edge of the world breaking 300mph within a quarter mile?

I prefer the track over the strip. If I want to go that fast, I'll just get into a fighter jet.

I am thoroughly confused; why is it of any brand Chrysler owns that it's the luxury division that can't make a good seat?

Hey /o/, so in a few years I foresee myself owning a tiny house and a powerful truck to pull said house in addition to innawoods shenanigans/camping. But for commuting to work and the store I want something small and utilitarian, I could get something like Elio but that's not what I was leaning towards, a auto-rickshaw is what I was thinking of.
>"Just get a motorcycle/scooter fuck-o"
>"Just get a geo metro/Suzuki samurai fuck-o"

1. Car would be too much for travel if I have a gf/wife and we need to move the tiny house, so I want to be able to stow it in a pickup or attach it to the back of the tiny house like a bike with a car bike rack.
2. Motorcycle/scooter would either be too dangerous or the scooter would be gay.

Reasoning for getting a auto rickshaw:
>Good on gas, or you can get electric
>Parts are cheap, easy to work on
>Covered on top for rain, surrounded on all sides so safer (additionally I'm adding a roll cage)
>can be modified to my liking without mattering much aesthetically (roof rack, covered pickup bed, swap seats easily, add hippy shit or just make it look neat)
>Can be loaded into back of truck
>Can fit a 2nd person comfortably, maybe a 3rd even as opposed to a motorcycle
>Would be good for road trips if the engine is powerful enough, mostly just good for too and from work

Just add proper seatbelt + better seats and a roll cage and It'd make a nice commuter vehicle for a good price.

The only issue is getting on, from what I've read it's very hard to obtain them in the US. A company called eTuk makes them in Denver but they start at around 20K which is fucking ridiculous plus they can't go past 25mph which is useless. Ebay doesn't have any from what I've seen, nor does craigslist after doing a nation wide search. Alibab does have them, and they are cheap BUT I don't know if shipping would be balls and getting it registered in the states.

So what do you guys think? Any suggestions on where to get one? Getting it registered and insured? Modifications I should do?s I'm looking at a Bajaj auto brand or anything I can get shipped here sub 2K in total, would do 3K. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/rickshaws-for-sale-usa-China-manufacture_60443501562.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.mfsgPl Is kinda what I'm looking for.

Hey guys, i am considering buying a 2003 Jetta for 2,000ish. Its got 162k miles and have some rust. The problems are that the ABS light is on and when i scanned for codes, nothing came up. (Would i be able to pass the e-check in Ohio with this on?) Also, the liner is loose on the arm rests and roof, does this mean there has been water damage? Overall, it seems to be a decent car, but im weary about its problems. Is it worth the money, and opinions on the car itself?

>>
you might be able to get one year of use out of it before its dead.

that car was made in mexico, and it shows.
cars made in mexico are a step below china in quality.
>>
>>15459197
Highly depends on the condition. Mileage itself would tell it's going to be driven much more, but does it seem to be real mileage?
I don't know shit about ABS, but electrical gremlins are a specialty of VWs from that era - not only Mexican built, but also yuro ones - so check every single thing and haggle. You will be to fix something for sure.
Is it AT? Comfy choice, but SAID to not be a good choice in VWs because of reliability and /o/ will bash you for not being a raging teenager. Manuél? Doesn't need to work good now, either, it seems in my VW it had been raped nearly to death.
Gas? Look for mayo under the oil cap. Is it there? Then yup, it's a VW. Diesel? Oh yeah, neighbors you wake up with that rattle will fukking love you. Otherwise, if the owner can confirm things had been replaced on time with some bills with mileage, it's a good choice. The interior is great and it will fall apart but you'll love it at night.
I N S P E C T thoroughly before buying. Good luck.
>>
>>15459205
Its basically a car for getting around college and such. Im hoping it will last over a year or so just for kicks
>>15459360
Its a GL, auto, gas. Im just worried about it being in those floods in the south with the drooping interior

Also, can i get it past the e-check with ABS light on in Ohio?

greetings connecticut!

are there any car meets/activiting in the ct area? I'm staying here for about a year or so. hoping to bring over my rx8 soon. also teach a texas br/o/ how to have my car survive the winter.

There was a meet up back in June. I heard it was okay / fun. I missed it though.

Driving in winter is easy though. Just be smart and analyze the terrain while you're driving. I drove my mustang this past winter with all seasons, shit was cash. I was whippin it through the snow
>>
>>15459120
do you think I'd be perfectly fine with all seasons then? and should I was under my car occasionally or even worry about the road salt?

Is switching into neutral and back into D on an automatic bad? I have a 2008 camry and a 2007 acura TL and both seem to react fine when i do it.

The reason i ask is that when my tl downshifts from 5th to 4th and 4th to 3rd gears, there are these slight jerks which can get annoying. However, i can totally negate them by just shifting to neutral when i am approaching a stop.

>Is switching into neutral and back into D on an automatic bad?
yes if it's moving. No if it's not moving.

>there are these slight jerks which can get annoying
Yes, all automatics do this because they're shit at smooth shifts.

>However, i can totally negate them by just shifting to neutral when i am approaching a stop.
Yeah don't do this.

When I had an old honda cr-v that was having electrical issues, turning the car off and back on would temporarily fix the issue. So sometimes I would shift to N, turn off the ignition, restart and shift back to D. Seemed to work fine.

Hey /o/, I want to get into motorsport but since I live in a shitty country where no cars get imported into ever all thats available is drifting, and since there are no cars here except BMW's will an 328 or 325 E36 spin the rear tires without much upgrading since everything costs a hand and a foot. Also is it true that everything in electrical in these older beemers is gonna break within 2 days
