My thread died last night.
I've boiled my choices down for a car /o/, and I need some opinions.
I can get a 2016 focus st for 24k or I can get a 2013 WRX Hatchback that's CPO for 24k.
Which one should I get? I drove a 2010 wrx and I loved the turbo spool noise, but the 16 focus st just had some cabin exhaust note that honestly was more annoying than anything. But, I'm just looking for whichever car will have higher resale in about 3 years or so and obviously which one performs better. I love how quick the wrx felt. ST felt super slow in comparison.
(yes, I know that's an STI in the pic)
Which brings me to my third option. I can get a tuned 14 WRX STI with 14k miles on it for 31k. Sure, the monthly payments will be higher, but I figure the resale at 60k 4 years from now I could probably get 25k for it.
If you get the WRX, you're a fucking faggot.
>>15469425
But the boost sounds great and it's definitely wayyyy faster than the st, but the st has the interior beat by a long shot. The WRX is awd too.
Subaru will hold better resale by a long shot.
Ford will be more reliable long-term.
Look for a stock Evo X/WRX STI instead,
What went wrong?
GM bureaucracy.
Nothing
The first gen sc2 was amazing
Their other cars were pretty great in their class too
Government bailouts
Liquidation
Mediocre products
Reverse cuckolding.

I'll start
1991 RX7 NA
>gold license plate holder
>purple mushroom filter
>gold strut tower bar
>solid aluminum engine and transmission mounts
>leather shift boot
>poly graphite bushing kit
>purple lock nuts
>gold valve stem caps
>some weird teal cozies for my brake and clutch reservoirs, they say project U on them
The boring stuff:
>shit ton of bulbs
>alternator
>new belts
>thermostat
>OMP blockoff plate and quality 2 stroke oil to compensate
>brake MC
>o2 sensor
I just got the car a month ago and I think I'm gonna stick with it. Your turn faggots
i bought a battery tender Jr. its the best thing ever and it was like 19 shipped
I went full meme and got a license plate relocation kit, mud flaps, and a cat back exhaust for my WRX.
My mouth fedora is in the mail right now.

Awesome. I love ricing out my car, it feels good but a little tongue in cheek for sure.
FWD > RWD

OF ALL THE UNHOLY TRAVESTY
>>15469035
Got you covered.
Alright guys so I own a 2005 Mercedes-Benz C 230. My driver's side window regulator just broke and they want to charge me $1,100 to fix it. Am I getting ripped off?
Self bump
You can change it yourself. They're charging you a lot because it's a gigantic pain in the ass to rip apart your door, replace the regulator that is nestled in the sheet metal and probably surrounded by wiring and cables then putting it all back together to look like nothing happened.
>>15469010
Pick and Pull has the part for $28.50.
If you had to choose which car is more superior, would you say a 2001 S2000 or a 1988 Fiero GT? My friend says his 1988 Fiero has some better qualities than my S2000 and I've whopped him at autocross.
See if you can slap your friend for that travesty.
I'm guessing he's the top in the relationship and you're here looking for a little more validity.
in what world would a shitty car from 1988 every be able to compete with a 2001 s2000 like if you took the s2000 back in time and drove it back then people would legit think you were some sort of billionair alien
Im pulling my hair out right now and im hoping some /o/ can help. I went and checked out a 92 Nissan nx1600 that has 100k miles, completetly clean, every service record, two owners, absolutely nothing wrong with it. But it has a $300 maaco paint job. The door jambs are all white, ttop jambs are all white etc. It doesn't look the best but it's meh. The problem is the guy wants $2800 for it. Kbb says $1800 for excellent and obviouslly this looks like shit. My gf and everyone is saying save more and get a nicer car but I just want a car at this point. I want to offer like $2200 but even after taxes and fees that feels like way too much. Pic related, the car.

Nigga, find something cheaper.
Guy has special snowflake syndrome for his shitbox Nissan.
Give me your local CL and let me look for something.

Why is this a crisis? Tell the asshole with the overpriced car to fuck himself and then go find something else.
>>15468987

My only requirements are manual, no rust, not a civic, and pref under 4k.
>>15469074
Because I like everything about the car but it's too damn expensive.
>driving on highway in left lane (America)
>super tired
>dense with cars
>person next to me coming into my lane
>no shoulder on left
>I try to move over in the lane to give them more room
>move wheel too much because I'm falling asleep
>Wheel slips off road
>car goes off the road into the grass median
>manage to stop in the median and get back on the road
>grass all over car and in the radiator fins
How do I get this out? There's no easy way to get into it seems. There's a thing underneath it and there's no easy way to get in from the front.
Would it be ok to spray water into the fins? It seems like it would be able to get the grass out but I don't want to get anything wet that I shouldn't.
Car is a 2010 Mazda 5 for reference.
>Pic not related
>>15468883
Sell your car for being a neglient faggot.
>>15468883
No, a radiator (directly exposed to the elements in so much as a sprinkling rain) shouldn't get wet. You have to use a dry wash, similar to drycleaning clothes.
>>15468948
This is sarcasm, OP
So how badly did I fuck up? $4350 private party.
-2004 Mustang GT with 129K miles

-Rattle can paint on a fender where he tried to DIY a dent
-Starting to get some rust in the rear wheelwells

>he didn't get the ecoboost model
You overpaid by about $2k

Depends on the power level and age of the car. As well as intended purpose.
What if Ford made another Excursion with the 6.7 Power Stroke?
>>15468480
They'd make it for a few years again and then end production again.
Ford can't sustain enough of the fullsize SUV market to support two platforms. Go buy an Expedition EL, throw a diesel under the hood and find some 1 ton axles for it.
>>15468480
They won't. EcoBoost exists.
>>15468480
There's no reason to.
Suabru Impreza wrx vs. Mazdaspeed 3 thread.
WRX if you need AWD.
I picked my 201w MazdaSpeed3 over a WRX because it was $5-10k less than an equally equipped subaru.
I'm happy with my decision.
>>15468451
Would be cool if the mazda3 had a rotary engine
>Boxer vs Rotary
fwd lmao
Is it illegal to drive without a front bumper?
There's a wrecked miata for sale near me, it has no bumper, fenders, or hood. Would it be illegal to drive without these? The car IS older than 25 years, so I'm guessing I'll be okay. I live in NC if that makes a difference.
>Pic is basically what I'm dealing with

You'll be fine.
