Hey /o/,

I'm gonna start off by saying that I know jack shit about cars, and that's why I'm here.

I just got into a huge fight with my mum who says that a mechanic told her my (I believe 1996) Honda civic needs a 2500$ repair on the right front wheel (she was getting it rust proofed)

I said that these discount mechanics will try to sell anyone anything, and she got mad because she thinks I don't trust her.

The car drives fine, it's not making any weird noises, and I just don't think this very expensive repair is necessary.

Can /o/ shed any light on this? Should I get a second opinion? Is the car unsafe to drive? I know a trusted mechanic who will check it out for me, but I don't think I should even bother because there's nothing wrong with the car as far as I can tell.

I got this 97cc Baja Dirt Bug for free because the owner was moving and I said I'd fix it. I've replaced the ignition coil, chain guard, clutch cover, and now the carb, but the fucker wont start. I had my mate hold the bike upright before we changed the carb, and poured gas directly in and it started, but know it wont start even with the new carb. Should I just go buy a new 4 dollar spark? Any advice?

I've tried every combination of choke on-off, and yes the killswitch is in the right position, and the gas valve is open

I did that, and I got shocked. I don't think the spark is a problem, but I could just get a new one... I think the problem is the gas flow? I haven't checked/changed the oil yet but should that matter in starting it?

do hwy 89 across the south of utah. absolutely gorgeous, relatively empty road with cool scenery, great junkyards and it will lead you to bryce canyon as well as eventually Zion national park. went from aspen through there to vegas with my cousin and it was a blast.

If my car is having a low idle to the point where it actually stalls on me, what could this be an indicator of? Also if i turn my ac on it keeps it high enough idle for it to not stall on me if this helps at all.

We'll get a bill of sale, but he won't sign a paperless transfer paper because it isn't in his name.
