It's probably mostly because of your driving habits, I get 40+mpg on my Civic and that's a few years older than yours.

Just try to not brake and conserve momentum as much as possible. Also keep it in high gears. I use fifth and fourth around town and that's fine if I'm moving faster than 20.

Yeh, it's just a hinged ABS bracket, I guess they positioned the fulcrum so that air flow keeps it folded up. I never saw it work myself because driving but it must've worked well enough for the cop to notice at least

I had 3 boats at one point, but I wasn't using them. I'm really enjoying the 315 thus far, and I use it almost every day now.

You're basically talking about a turbine engine, which have terrible throttle response and are not very viable for use in cars unless they're used as a generator in a vehicle with electric motors.

Assuming you need four doors, I'd check out an E90 335i (N55 engine which was introduced in 2010 or 2011, anything before will be an money-pit). Last good car BMW made.
