No the joke isnt that he blew it. It's that he will blow it.
>TL;DR
>Want a Saab 900NG cuz cool looks, reliability and power
>Is it true that they have good reliability?
>Is there a better Saab out there?
>Do any of you br/o/s have any experience or share my interest with Saab?
>Is it a good buy now that they are dirt-cheap?
>What mods are good to do to it?
>If not Saab, what other makes?
>Must be European(Live in Norway so canĀ“t get American, they are rare and little support over here)
>Preferably German or Swedish
Thanks for any help you guys can give me! I tried out a 900NG SE Turbo today and it was kinda a werrd experience. It had Sensonic gearbox(no clutch manual) which the owner stated had low reliability and could easily break even though it had not happened yet. It had 300hp which was insane and upgraded suspension.
>2500$ with taxes
>Not a whole lot over here for a car this age
Also general Saab question and answers thread for anyone wondering. Just seems to be so little insider info on these machines.
I would not choose a Saab. Sure, they are fast and a shitlot more handsome than most Volvos, but they aren't that reliable according to my experience.
If you want a reliable and comfortable swedish car, go for an old volvo 200, 700 and 900 series. Poor fuel economy, though. And rwd if you are into drifting and stuff. You can modify the turbo models quite cheap and easily if you want it to go faster.
If you want any more stylish car, or fwd, I'd go for a Passat or maybe a Golf.
nice ricer kit
Who is going to drink the koolaid here and get into one of these? Should be great bang for the buck and Genesis Motors will probably suck the dicks of everyone willing to get in on this brand. Tau V8 is glorious too, but also there will be twin turbo V6 option.

No one on /o/. 90% of /o/ is poor 18 year olds.
>buying gook junk
>spending money on gook "luxury"
only retards would spend more than 5k on a korean piece of shit
>>15480560
Ok, cleetus
Why do these cost $2,500 vs stand-alone GPS module which costs just $200?
>>15480512
Because your Walmart GPS that you have to plug into the cigarette lighter is a sign of being a poorfag and won't get you that trophy wife.
>Having a dash/center console with less computing power than an i3 and less than 10 inches of display size.
I seriously hope you guys don't do this.
>>15480533
Isn't having aftermarket car entertainment system a sign of a retard who will spend all his meagre paycheck into ricing his 20 year old shitbox?
>>15480539
Nobody said anything about aftermarket.
My battery in my Lancer is starting to die because I have 3 things I plug into the 12v sockets that i use for work or driving. Its not the battery, It measures the same CCA it advertises, but it just can't keep up over night or every 2 days I drive it.
I'm buying a Optima red top 35 tomorrow to replace it
Should I pay the core charge or turn in the old one that is only 4 months old as an extra?
Is there anyway to keep it charged without running my electric bill up $30 every month, or wire so one can be used to jump the other?
>Buying a meme battery
>>15480527
>being a meme
>>15480527
fucking everything is a meme. Optima has a track record and higher CCA then stock or duralast, so fuck why not?
Why the fuck would my coolant suddenly drain on the floor from my car after not using it for a week
Coolant evaporates at room temperature.

one of your hoses got: (pick one)
>disconnected
>punctured/cracked/split
>melted
>damaged by rodents or small mammals
alternate explanations:
>freeze plugs rotted through
>radiator/heater core sprung a leak
also fuck you for not asking this in QTDDTOT

No water pump ???
Pros & Cons?
Pro:
>less heat on the surrounding parts - really true?
>hotter exhaust gasses make more power
>cooler intake air = more power
Con:
>Turbo becomes hotter - could this kill my turbo?
Just thinking about this I'd say it makes sense if you also install heat shielding for the intake and also install an oil cooler - if the car doesn't have one already.
Am I missing anything? What's your opinion?
>pic was just something from google image search
Heat shields are generally better, I've seen turbos stay red hot after hard running for up to 10min under a blanket- which will cause oil to pool and burn in some types
>turbo blanket meme
This shit only makes a difference in the most demanding cases (think 80s 24 H of Le Mans)
Would the downpipe and the rest of the exhaust system become considerably hotter?
I read that on turbo engines it's not a good idea to wrap the manifold in heat shielding tape. Why? And does this include the downpipe?

that indian attempt at an f1 car
It doesn't compete so it isn't a race car.
It isn't even the zero car it's just a random course car.
MFW bought a Audi A4 3.0 TDI Quattro. Week after the deal car starts acting up. Injectors needed to be replaced. Cost me 2000 euros. fastforward 3 months - car still not working propertly.
Looks like i need a new block because the cylinders are ruined with lines in them.
Need more 2000 euros for a new used engine or need to restore the old one which would be more pricey.
MFW I make 1000 euros a month.

>buying an audi on a 1000 a month income
You dun goofed. Should've had a 10k emergency fund before buying this car.
that's what you get for overreaching your budget and not having the car inspected beforehand
OP here. I know I fucked up but I got what I wanted. S-line and a full package.
It will take some time to make it run again but I will do it.
Hey /o/. I have a Chrysler 300. I was attracted to it's flashy looks and 5.7l motor back when I bought it, kind of on impulse (pic related).
Now my evaporator core went to shit (among other things), and frankly I'm sick of it. So after I get it fixed I'm going to trade it in.
I'm a realtor, so I drive around all day, every day, so maybe I'm more conscience of mileage this time around.
Trying to stick under 30k, new.
What do I buy?

How's the S10? Looking at a 2003 S10 with 167k, and they want 4.5k for it? Good deal as long as everything checks out and is clean?

I have to drive a 2000 Ford f150. Do you feel sorry for me?
Nah those are aight
>>15479703

If it runs fine, it's a decent truck.
nah im jelly. those are comfy af
Im looking to for a car that is fun, somewhat economical and that I can daily drive without big bills.
Mx-5 or Abarth 500
Which of these two would most suit these criteria?
The MX-5 is an actual driving oriented roadster. The Abarth is a glorified city car for people who also like sporty looking sneakers.
>>15479635
Best compromise:
MX5-chassis
500 Abarth engine.
Meet the Fiat 124 Spider.
