It's time for the bi-monthly speeding thread where all the gayboys on /o/ wave their dick about how quick they've gone.

For this edition were collecting two pieces of information. First, simply the highest top speed you've attained while driving, and second, the greatest factor by which you've broken the speed limit. Feel free to add what you were driving at the time if you wish.

For me its 135mph fastest, and 125mph in a 30mph zone.

Don't forget to filter and report people who post in kilometres per hour.

>Highest speed
146 mph on 75 mph interstate
>Greatest factor
Probably about 115 in a 40 in town.

Bonus: The other day I was going 60 in a 55 mph construction zone. A crossover came flying up and passed me probably going about 80. My insta-temper road rage kicked in and I passed him doing about 130 in the construction zone. It was at night with no workers out, but that's no excuse. It's amazing I haven't been arrested.

118 is my fastest on a 70 mph interstate
I think I hit about 105 in a 35 county road, so about 70 over.
Not impressive by itself, but my tires are rated for 99 mph and are 36" tall and being pushed by a stock v6.
Worst speeding I've been caught for is 62 in a 40.

So I'm in the market for a new car and I'm considering the FoST and the FiST. Can anyone on here that owns either tell me what they like or dislike about them, and why they picked one over the other?

Watching this thread because I'm also curious

Both are practical enough for me, just wondering about performance/fun/reliability. Will probably go Mountune regardless of which I buy.

I've got a Fiesta ST with a good deal of after market parts on it. Any question you have particularly?

Basic run down, I'm running an e30 tune most of the time with 235whp/280tq, owned it for about 2 years and have put 25,000 miles on it without an issue.
>>
>>15589767
I'd like to know what you like and dislike about it and why you chose it over a FoST.
Also, I sat in one and while I do appreciate the cat that it's buttons and knobs, the climate controls feel...cheap. do they hold up over time?
And should I get them, are mountune parts worth it?

Aside from it being British, it is pretty much perfect. Some V12 Ferrari cars would be close but they are Italian and that horse means it is possibly worse than being British.

>>

Negro, first of all its not a supercar. Secondly, anything that tries to combine two different types of vehicles (sports car and off road 4x4 in this case) will, by default, be complete shit. The greeks have been broke for about 2200 years now. Just because one of them manages to scrape enough cash to make a car doesnt mean squat.

Hey /o/, so my 1999 Honda Accord is starting to show problems and I don't want to have to deal with the car any longer. I'm selling and buying a car with a maximum budget of 7k. Anyone have experience with buying rental cars? I can get a 2014 Chevy spark for 6.7k with 50k miles on it.

>>
Just buy a newer Accord and actually maintain it this time
>>
>>15588627
From what I hear, rental cars are often abused by the drivers and. Usually if it's cheap , there's a reason why.
>>
My other options so far are a 2006 Mini Cooper with 75k miles and 2012 Kia Rio with 60k miles,

Sup /o/, would it be a good idea to get a classic beetle as a first car to work on? I have a newer DD with nothing wrong with it, and classic beetles are dumb simple. They're fairly cheap in my area too. Is it a good buy?

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-volkswagen-emissions-audi-idUSKCN10I0PB
>Sun Aug 7, 2016 1:22pm EDT

> U.S. authorities have found three unapproved software programs in 3.0 liter diesel engines made by Volkswagen's Audi unit, German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported, without saying where it had obtained the information.
>The software allowed the turbocharged direct injection (TDI) engines used in Audi's Q7, Porsche's Cayenne and VW's Touareg models to shut down emissions control systems after about 22 minutes, the paper said. Official methods to measure emissions usually last about 20 minutes, it added.
>Volkswagen has admitted it cheated on U.S. diesel emissions tests for years and said in June it would spend as much as $15.3 billion buying back vehicles from consumers and providing funding that could benefit makers of cleaner technologies.
>That settlement however would not address about 85,000 larger 3.0 liter Audi, Porsche and VW vehicles that emitted less pollution than 2.0 liter vehicles but were also fitted with illegal emissions-control equipment. Audi and Volkswagen notified U.S. authorities about these vehicles last year. A deal covering the 3.0 liter vehicles may still be months away.

that's not how emissions recalls work. VW has to buyback or retrofit to spec.

Why would changing the fuel filter require you to open up the engine?

Aren't fuel filters normally at the back of the car closer to the tank?

You should be fine. Probably just shaved off a bit of shit. If your engine didn't completely seize then you are fine. Some oil is better than bone dry. Im sure the very little oil it had was enough to provide sufficient lubrication, don't forget the oil just fucking splashes around everywbere while engine it on, and if it is running full synthetic that shit lubricates real good.
