I'm trying to change the fuel pump in my 97 malibu and I was wondering if I can just pull the hardened plastic lines off the top part and slip them on the new one or if I can like fuse the plastic lines together if I cut them back.
>Pic unrelated

>97 malibu
The most horrible vehicle I've ever had to drive. Anything is a better vehicle than that gen Malibu. I had a Chevette and a Skyhawk(Buick Cavalier) both were better than that fucking Malispew.
Use a lighter or torch to melt the plastic lines back together. You'll thank me later.

I had a wonderful Chevy Monte Carlo that I ended up blowing the head gasket on like a fucking moron.
Pic is what I am working with and I'm curious about the hard black plastic lines on the white part that the name escapes me

Hey /o/, looking for some help winning an argument between me and my retarded buddy.
I bought my first manual transmission car about 3 weeks ago, and I picked my friend up to go for a drive not long after I got it and he was utterly puzzled at something I was doing while driving.
When I was racing someone at a set of lights, I put the car in neutral, clutched in, selected first, put the car back in neutral, took my foot off the clutch, (obviously waited for the race to happen) floored the throttle and when I wanted to go simply put the car in first without use of the clutch.
First time I did this he didn't seem to notice as obviously you've got bigger concerns than to check out someones footwork while were doing that, but the second time he looked at me like I was a fucking idiot.
I know launching a car in any way is hard on the components, but is this really that bad or is my friend just one of those morons who babys everything? I told him that as I put it into and out of first the syncros were up to speed so it doesn't even matter that you're not using the clutch, but he wouldn't have it. He doesn't even drive a manual is the reason I don't believe him.
Who is right?
>>15578226
Wat? Seriously? No.
him
>>15578226
why is the clutch there if you don't need it

Hey /o/, I have an opportunity to buy one of these sans motor, thinking of dropping a Honda F20C motor in it and making a silly fun street/track car.
Am I completely retardation? For some reason I've been wanting to do this for years.
Nobody?
Why don't you just buy a used Formula Vee or Ford?
Also check to see if the engine will be a stressed member. Production car engines don't tend to like to become stressed members. See 4AGEs in Formula Atlantic cars.
I couldn't find a formula vee or ford that appealed to me in my price range. This seemed more my style. It was formerly an electric car but the motor is gone, what remains is what appears to be a VW transaxle. The engine isn't a stressed part of the frame so I should be good there.
Anyone else get some of these from Toyota but never use them?

Hey /o/,
Myself and a moderate sum of my longtime friends are setting up a small car club to drive late at night and shoot shit at car meets, Initial D style sickers and all
The problem now is coming up with a name that rolls off the tongue, any suggestions?
>>15577643
Ecoboost Edgelords
Kool Kar Klan
>>15577643
DONT LET FWD INTO YOUR CLUB
THEY RUIN EVERY COMMUNITY
Which FWD and AWD cars should have RWD?
Third Gen Acura TL. Fucking Honda engineers and their need for fwd
making a civic RWD would be ruining it
>weight
>interior space
Honda CRX of course.
Forget spark plugs and cylinders. This is the best motor your car can have.
Yes, to bad it needs power
Too bad at this point the batteries overheat after 15 minutes on track (at least teslas do). Electric motors are great though and I hope someone makes an enthusiast oriented electric car one day. I'd like to own one.
>>15577173
And the IC ones need gas
Best car in the world for sixty years, unless you like overpriced novelties.

>>15577088
Mazda3 is nice too.
But not the best selling car in the world (yet)
Want an old style hot rod?
AE70 series or AE86
Want a cheap fun tuner car?
Toyota Sprinters
Want to build a time attack car?
Corolla + fantastic toyota engine swap ( you got 3 or even more choices of engine family) + fantastic aftermarket
And it's all cheaper than the competition
Want a basic A to B?
Corolla Wagon!
Corollas are so great
