Hey /o/, I have a budget of about 15K and I'm looking for a new car. I would really like a sporty car that is relatively reliable (It doesn't have to be Prius-reliable but nothing that'll break down quickly) in a manual transmission. To eliminate an option I know you'll say, I don't like Miatas. They look too girly for my tastes and I know you will all flame me for this but please don't recommend it because it won't change my opinion.

00-04 Mustangs, especially models with the 4V engines like the Mach 1 or Termi Cobra. The 350Z and G35 are also good options. RX-8 if you can find one with very low km or recent engine rebuild (always assume the owner didn't know how to take care of it).

So I just leased a new car today, and when I inspected it after getting home, I found that one of the trim plastics is not secured, and it seems like the plastic to secure it is broken. If I call the dealership on Monday, is this something that a dealership will fix?

I read some insanely high numbers about car insurance in the US
are they true, or they were always talking about extra, non mandatory insurance that someone chooses just for benefits that it brings, and not because forced by the government to cover damages caused

Depends on the state, depends on if you've financed, etc.
With my cars, I always finance with a bunch of money down for stupid low payments. But because I finance, most credit unions/banks will not back a loan without full coverage (meaning they get their money back if the car is totaled). I get full coverage + gap coverage, meaning I get the full some of money borrowed back and I can walk away with nothing owed if the car is totaled.
My insurance payment is relatively high because of this on my G37. It falls into "Luxury sedan" category so it's about $170/mo for all of the bells and whistles as far as coverage goes.
Say if I had the minimum liability coverage, basically covering only damage to other things rather than my car; It could be about $80-110 depending on driving record, accident history, etc.
Comprehensive coverage is a nice thing to have just in case a river accidentallys your whole car or something. Trust me.

pretty difficult. most modern cars do not have that big of a trunk and they have to fit both the rear suspension and the fuel tank under there.

I'm going to pick up my 91 Laredo tomorrow and I need suggestions for the radio headunit. It's got some shitty Pioneer shitbox piece of shit shiny plastic thing in it.
The best would be an original head unit, but otherwise, does anyone have suggestions for understated attractive head units I could put in there? I just really really don't like flashy bright cheap head units, especially in nice old cars like this.

Explain to me brakes,
every other car review I hear "these huge brakes with such braking power can stop it on a dime" and how a cars braking capability is due to these huge ceramics etc.
How can you improve car stopping distance with better brakes ? (I completely udnerstand the need for better brakes for heating, brake fade, calipers etc.), but braking once from about 100mph even some shitty little brakes can lock the wheels before they overheat, so the stopping distance should be the same as with upgraded brakes ?
As I understand it, braking distance can be improved by things like: More tire (wider), less weight, more downforce, weight distribution (more biased towards rear wheels)
Am I missing something fundamental ?
