I'd love to do that with my Montero Sport.
But probably just going to do the cleaning and detailing aspect, don't want to deal with parts and stuff yet.
I've always enjoyed watching professional detailers post before and afters. Granted, they're usually 3 year old luxury vehicles that have been horribly neglected by stay at home moms who don't care about them because he didn't pay for them. bringing something that old back to life is pretty cool.
My 04 corolla is loud as shit on the highway, are sound deadening pannels a meme or will putting this shit inside the doors and floorboard actually going to make a big difference?
They sell 36 sq feet on amazon for about $60 shipped.
>>16345224
Its a LOT of work.
you might reduce noise with different tires. What do you run now?
>>16345224
Sound deadening panels are a meme, but proper sound deadening (panels, mass-loaded vinyl, etc) is not a meme.
Don't expect magic from just cheap panels.

Sound happens when I brake while in motion. Do I need to service? Pic related.

Maybe some greasing, and lubing. Pads a bit scorred. run some sandpaper on them to remove those streaks, and clean with brake clean.
Did the drum come off easy, or did ti stick?
check the auto adjustment spring/tension. they can get rusty, or lock up, and not adjust correctly.
sqeeking is usually on release. just lube up any pivot points.
>>16345129
The drum came off like fall off the bone ribs. I'm not getting squeeking on realease, I'm getting a "thud thud thud thud" sound while pushing the brake down while the car is in motion.

What grit would sand it with?
I need help. I'm looking to buy a used RWD luxury sedan for under 10k. I'm leaning towards a Lexus ls of some sort.

You can find a 2012 for around 10 and that one has the hr engine putting about 300 horses to the ground

You can get a creampuff grandpa owned ls400 easy for that, not sure about ls430 though
Is it for pussies or actually useful?
Who'd want a BMW you can't drift nor do burnouts with?
>>16344452
I live in BC, Canada where it is snowing like a motherfucker and AWD is a must. I've found a RWD or FWD going outta my control. I know a RWD would do good but I don't wanna take the risk of crashing anywhere by learning to drive a RWD on snow.

>Who'd want a BMW you can't drift nor do burnouts with?
Seriously, richfags aside, does anyone at all drift in their bimmers? Im not talking about old beaters, but relatively new models that people use as dd. I dont think so.
Best scenario would be to have 4wd dd and some beater rwd for hooning.
Also if anyone tried both, can they compare bmws xdrive to quattro found on last few generations of a6?
>>16344452
You can't drift AWD car?
HOW COULD YOU /O/
SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!
HOW COULD YOU JUST LEAVE YOUR CAR SITTING OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT IN THE RAIN AND SNOW AND COLD AND WIND

When racing, lightness and grip are more important than just raw horsepower.
Is this a good jack? What kind of jack and jack stands do you guys use? I don't want to get crushed to death.

i use crafstman low profile jack and some random jackstands we've had for like 30 years. I prefer pin jack stands rather than lever.
Get jackstands. The jack really doesn't matter unless your car is stupidly low.
I just use one that my granddad had back in the 60's
I also use one my dad bought in the 90's
I think I should restore my Granddad's old one. It leaks oil and it's got about 4 different colours of paint on it from people trying to spraypaint it
well, I'm home sick today throwing up and with a fever of 101.2.

Okay guys I just got on SSI and I'm getting back pay, lots of it. Only thing is I won't get the full amount until August of next year, but that's fine, I can wait. It's going to be in the tune of 12,000 bucks. I have student loan debt so I'm going to pay that off, but I'll still have like 8,000 bucks left to play with.
I want to get a performance or sporty car, newer would be better. Also insurance is going to rape me, for shits and grins I looked at what a 2015 ford fiesta ST would cost me on insurance and its like 275 a month. Yes, my driving record is that shity. Don't smoke weed and drive then get two DUI's kids.
So what should I get? Like I said new or slightly pre-owned is a plus, but I'm not sure if I want to fuck with payments as I only make 750 dollars a month. 250 goes to rent, (I live in a sober living house, rent is mad cheap, all utilities and cable/ internet included) and like 250-300 will be insurance for a hot hatch for full coverage.. I can only imagine what a V8 would be like so I need insurance to be in the lower brackets. I do plan on getting a job when I get a car, SSI lets you work upwards of 20 hours a week so even at minimum wage I can pull in another 500 a month. I volunteer at a church 10 hours a week doing soup kitchen duty and all my food is free donated stuff.
Oh, with SSI you cant have over 2,000 bucks in the bank or they stop sending you payments so I really can't save up money and when I get that back pay I have to spend it. So when I get a job that extra money I make each month needs to go somewhere.
The only requirement for the car is it has to be manual. I'm not opposed to FWD or RWD.
What car should I get? I can have 8,000 down on something new or should I just shut up and buy a civic for 3k and mod the shit out of it?
Pic not related.
Oh I forgot to mention I'm 6'5" and 265lbs of solid American Freedom. So only cars that were released in the USA and cars I can fit in. Miata's and MR2's are pretty much a no go as I can't fit in them.
>>16342725
You sound like a fucking nigger
>>16342725
>I just got on SSI
It's why a ton of mexicans and muslims immigrate to the USA. After they stay long enough for amnesty or citizenship, they then apply for SSI and various other disabled or retirement and medical benefits. One of the reasons why the USA has been declining is the ever increasing PERCENTAGE (not just absolute numbers) of the population on the dole.
When you have a trade deficit, that adds to the problem as that is money leaving the circulation pool of the country and being used as a debit against the country subsequently. Eventually, a country that has a lot of debt and trade deficits can be brought down without any war. The country rots away from the poor work ethics of the parasites. We already know what bacteria can do to an otherwise healthy strong body. Individually, not much. But when in great numbers they multiply, the host is becomes a train wreck in progress.

Never ridden before, planning on buying one of these to ride through my town's tiny side streets and just get around town, nothing too crazy.
My question is, would I need boots/protective gear while riding this or am I good with just a t-shirt/helmet/gloves?
If you fall off, it would be extremely painful
Wear a mask.
