So 5 year payments on a Focus RS go about $700 a month or so @ 5% interest
who the fuck would buy one of these?
>>16342102
Someone who isn't poor.
>>16342102
>who the fuck would buy one of these?
A young Asian IT guy. Same people who buy Evo's and STI's.
>I want a high-performance car that is very practical so I can drive it daily
>Evo is too slow and dated
>STI is too slow and cheap
>Golf R is too slow and boring
Where were you when the V8 died
Jerking off to fuel economy numbers
v8 isn't dead. the v6 is. in favour of the ecoboost
>near
Hahahahhahahahahahahahah
thanks to the superb owl of skoda, european car makers copy and slowly return to clearer lines on their cars.
It looks like every other econobox on the market, are you blind? The only thing I'll give it is actually having windows
>looks like every other econobox
superb is actually upper middleclass. it's supposed to play in the 5 series and E-class field.
also, take a look a this turd. same class and this nissan has the design madness going that most others currently also still have.
that skoda marked a point where more conservative design will return, with clearer lines that don't fucking go in every direction possible
>>16339138
Cherrypicking is not an argument
>superb is actually upper middleclass. it's supposed to play in the 5 series and E-class field
t. skoda owners
why do you guys live out in the sticks?
i know living in the city with a car hobby can require more resorces but it has its own benifits
as it simply because your allowed to store as many cars as you want outside?
was land cheaper?
arnt you worried about mice and shit eating up the interior of cars you dnt drive that often
>>16338055
i would also imagine its much much more difficult to run away from the cops
>>16338055
Because living in a city is the closest thing to hell I can imagine
>>16338055
Land is super cheap, no annoying home owners associations or otherwise trying to tell me what I can and can't do with my land, the fact you can see stars, and a looser regulation of laws...
>fall in love with many shitboxes
>require money to purchase + restore + maintenance
>no house with land to buy colossal garage to keep them into
>no money to buy that anyway
Living hurts. It's massive bullshit.
Why don't you just get rich then?
>>16349729
Gee golly son, haven't taught of that.
I'll get started right away.
>>16349718
IKTFB.
I love shitboxes more than most sports cars and more than any exotic super car.
Can someone help me understand the Honda community?
I don't understand the guys that do engine swaps for such small performance increases, dump money into economy cars to make them handle better, get obsessed with having a "clean" Civic etc.
Like, what's the point? Why not just get a Miata or an S13 to sling around?
I have friends that have put so much time and effort into a Honda Civic, and it's still not any faster or fun to drive than 90% of your regular cars out there.
I'm not looking to hate, just trying to understand.
They're just having a bit of fun. You like fun don't you anon?
>>16349206
I just don't understand the work/reward ratio for them.
My friend did a full engine swap on his, repainted it, did lots of suspension work...it's still a Honda Civic and really isn't that fun to drive or fast.
>>16349221
It's a niche community like anything else. You could say the same about Miata faggots doing NA 1.8 swaps for a 10% increase in performance. It's kind of dumb and you would be better off just buying a faster car to begin with but it's fun to tinker around and the parts are cheap so fuck it, why not.
Itt: engines that come with forged internals.
>f20/22c
>crank
>rods
>pistons
despite the high compression they are actually still very good at making power while boosted and doing so reliably.
>>16349178
i don't even know what this is but i have a feeling it's german.
>>16349166
Pretty rare to have petrol engines with forged pistons, even tough lumps like the 2JZ didn't.
>>16349180
ford terminator
Thoughts on purchasing this?
>>16348994
If it is the Sr5 I'd grab it. The 4 cylinder ones are really slow.
>>16348994
>we welded and fixed it
Who welded? Where are the repair documents? You don't have them? oh.... I'll give you 1800 cash for it right now.
Echoing above. Sr5 trim is worth it. I live in CO, and that's a damn good price. Make sure it's 4wd, and the transfer case works, both high and low range. Double check the rust repair, sometimes people botch it badly.
The 3rd gen 4Runners were the last really good gen. Great weight and size for off road, with decent stock approach angles. There's an ok aftermarket, but they suffer from Toyota Tax.
I'd buy it if I was looking for one.
talk me out of buying a 78 280 s class
>>16348721
>big car
>smallest engine
this is not a good formula.
>>16348728
0-60 in 9ish seconds which isn't TOO bad
i'm not looking for stock speed here
>>16348732
Still. Get a 450 unless you're a eurocuck.
Yo, /o/, Just started browsing here, I don't have my car lisence at 21 which is very lazy I know, however I need to get to work and to uni next year, So I was going to get a motor bike so that I can get on the road a bit faster, before I get on my bike I've been learning the road rules with my good ol' pa, driving when I can, but he seems to think it's a stupid idea to get on the road being inexperinced as I am, (been driving for maybe 3 months.) He seems to think that most motorbike riders are dangerous idiots and that I'll fall off and hurt myself.
tldr: Are motorbikes dangerous and are they worth getting?
>>16348486
Yes, motorcycles are dangerous, as a PA bro myself I'd say a bike will definitely be interesting to ride around on if you don't have much experience with driving. Lots of people are super aggressive when I ride, which is why I crank it up a notch and try and stay away from those faggots. Lots of people will ride your ass, when you're on a motorcycle, most of the time they barely see you. You best be used to people not seeing you and trying to inadvertently run you off the road, without getting flustered..
>>16348533
Sounds like a fantastic trip. If motorbikes are usually like that then why do people even ride them? I'll probably just wait until I'm on my car Ps if it's going to be that stresfull. Sorry if that seems very ignorant I know 0 about this sort of stuff so far.
>>16348533
Don't get me wrong, I love riding, but I have 13 years of driving experience under my belt, plus I've driven a work van for the last 5 years, so I have plenty of time learning to read the stupid drivers before they cause me harm.
In the long run you'd be better off buying a cheap car, or mini truck, and driving that for work and school. Then you can buy a bike later for fun/summer commuting. A decent bike will cost more then a cheap car will, and maintenance is rather short mileage wise compared to an automobile. Insurance is also cheaper for a car, and all season driving, cuz riding when it's below 40 degrees out sucks balls.
I have 2 motorcycles, those were my only source of transportation this year, just bought an S-10. 1000 bucks for the truck, that's less then half what I spent on each bike...
Well /o/, I've fucked up entirely. I think I fucked up my life and my parents are ready to boot me out of the house, this is all because of /o/'s favorite meme car, the AE86. My parents gave me spending money for graduating College with a high GPA score, I truly thought hard on what to spend the cash on and I was browsing craigslist's for weeks, then my parents suggested a nice sporty car that wouldn't break down on me. Lo and behold, I thought an AE86 would be a perfect car, especially after browsing /o/ throughout my college life.
So I began the hunt and went through countless rust boxes, "I know what I've got", "No low ballers" and more "I know what've got!". After growing tired of searching I found the perfect "cheap one", it looked like a steal. I went to pay the owner a visit, it was some old lady whose husband had passed away and had the car sitting for quite a while, she didn't specify how long but it didn't matter to me being the dumbass I was, I didn't even ask what engine it was, where the rust spots were or any specific important questions about it. I bought the car straight away with pure emotion, I spent $7,500 fucking dollars.
>Mfw I found out the car had the weaker 4AC carby engine and NOT an actual 4AGE and this was AFTER I purchased it.
>Mfw the head gasket is going to blow at any second
>Mfw there is rust in the unibody and a repairman quoted me $5000 in total, and body work isn't even included.
>>16348199
hey anon cheer up you can always ls swap it
kek theres so much bait in this post is hilarious
Iv seen this thread 1000 fucking times..
What does /o/ think of the Plymouth Breeze?
Nothing.
>>16348097

pretty much babied and serviced at Subaru
it's Black which is only thing kind of stopping me from pulling the trigger because I hate washing Black cars. thought do like the look of them.
Belongs to my cousin. he barely used to drive it around cos he always had a second car. So I trust its condition. I think he has it up for like $17000 but said he would rather it go to me
>>16347886
Blobeye comes before hawkeye, not bugeye
We're fucking slacking here /o/
Sterling Sebring
I have one if my cousin hasn't fucked it up yet.
>>16347094
Nice ride anon

Here you got OP
Why do American muscle cars (and for a period from the late 60s to the 70s it seems ALL American cars) have that hump near the back? They're all front engine cars so what is the purpose of it
>>16346886
do you think any of the fucking retards who were in literally any position of power back in the 60s or 70s had even the slightest idea what they were doing pretty much at any time
THE ANSWER IS NO THEY FUCKING DONT KNOW SHIT AND THEY HAD NO FUCKING CLUE
>>16346886
What hump??? Some of the bigger sedans had a hump for the spare tire in the trunk lid because donut tires weren't a thing back then.
>>16346906
see how the back door handle is higher than the front door handle? It's not like that on early 60s models
