If you're selling a car that has some issues, how do you go about telling potential buyers about them?
I'm not going to deceive anyone, but I also don't want to turn off any potential buyers right away. This is what's currently wrong with the car:
- AC doesn't work
- Headlight control stalk is loose
- Power locks don't work on passenger's side door
- Left wiper has come loose if used in heavy ice/snow
- Was in a flood in 2013, but no problems that have not been fixed already
How would you go about telling this to buyers? Would you put it in the ad, or just mention it when they show up to look at it?
>>16338457
Apart from the air conditioning, which is a serious issue that will fixing, put them down as "minor issues that will need rectification"
Call the car "a fixer-upper" if you want to
You throw it on CL and say it runs and drives great, needs nothing.

dude its a cheap Honda (assuming you are talking about the car in the pic)
It'll sell regardless. Some poorfag will drive it to the ground, if I were you I'd state all the problems.

So work has been good and I've decided to knock a bullet off of my bucket list of being the first owner of a new vehicle. I've narrowed my choices down to either a Honda Civic or a Toyota Camry or Corolla.I am not a "car person" so i came to ask you all your opinions.
Some notes:
1. You are free to put in your suggestion for a different vehicle but I would only appreciate responses regarding the three cars i listed.
2. Just cars please I will look at a truck later in life.
3. I am not worried about the car having a bunch of extra stuff, for example, a turbo. Just looking for a commute car and any additions I can probably add on later.
Don't but new I've done it thrice and always regret it. If you want to try new. Just lease it because once you buy it and don't end up liking it you will hate the car and every payment you put on it.
I recently bought a new Civic EX-T and it's pretty great so far. I fill up once a month, and I came from an '04 cavalier with 194k miles so the tech included is pretty nice and conprehensive for the price point.
People have said you've had major issues with the infotainment system but I've had none.
The turbos got decent power for an econobox and it's a pretty nice package all together.
Might also look at the Mazda3 but I couldn't get past the tacked on screen.

Why didn't you stop buying new after the first ended in regret.? Sure, give it a second chance....
But why in jeebus's name did you buy the third time?
Why are the only people that ride Hayabusas black men I'm their late 30's?
Bonus:
Why do Hayabusas look like such shit?
>>16337293
The Hayabusa looks the way it does because it was engineered from the ground up exclusively for top speed. This results in a longer than usual wheel base, a larger profile overall, and corny aerodynamics curves. If you look at the Hayabusa's competitor, the ZX14, you will also notice that it is ugly as shit. It isn't by mistake. It's just hard to make such a big ass machine look pretty. Personally, I don't think the black busas look that bad
Outside of that, more people would own the Hayabusa were it not for the fact that the 1000cc line of motorcycles have become so god damn developed that bikes like the Busa and ZX14R are losing their place in the world. Most liter bikes (like the GSX-R 1000 for example) are faster, lighter, and handle much better than the Busa. The only advantage the Hayabusa has is perhaps a few mph on the top speed but more importantly it serves as a platform for easy modding. The busa will be much more stable at 220mph than the 1000 will.
I am as white as they come and would love to own a hayabusa if I could get a good deal on it
>>16337502
White Aussie here is love one but I'd settle for a busa Mini
Who on /o/ has the biggest glovebox?
Biggest? haha no.
Smallest? Yeah probably.
Mk1 rabbit barely fits its own manual.

>lolheug glovebox door
>no space inside

If anon were in a position to finance-to-own a (let's say pony) car, would you go for the base model or a well-equipped model?
>Examples:
$35k Camaro 1SS vs $45 Camaro 1LE
$40k Challenger Scat Pack vs $50k Challenger SRT
$40k Mustang GT (loaded) vs $50 GT350 (base)
If you went with cheaper models on Camaro/Chally you would give up 6-piston brakes and performance features like Magnetic Ride Control - and all the luxury/tech features that come with a higher trim.
A $40k Mustang GT is loaded to the tits, but would you spend $10k more for the +100HP Voodoo?
NOT financing an extra $10k in features would save someone with good credit about $200/month - which could then be spent on aftermarket big brake kits and suspension bits.
What say /o/?
Good luck finding a gt350 for around base price. Also go big or go home.
Alternatively you could compare:
$30k Challenger RT vs $40k Challenger Scat Pack (only dif is 375HP 5.7 vs 485HP 6.4)
$30k Mustang GT (base on clearance) vs $40k Mustang GT (loaded with every option)
I'm praying GM puts the 535HP 'LT2' in the Camaro with the 10speed and call it the Z28. Price it between $50-60k.
>>16336049
Yea, this is all kinda fantasy numbers. SRTs and 1LEs don't exactly get discounts either.
Hey guys, quick question. I have a F
I have an U
/o/ is literally on suicide watch right now
/o/ blown the fuck up
>>16335455
this has intrigued me. am curious as to what you have that phone connected to.
nah
>>16335481
bluetooth + microcontroller connected to the light motors obv.
idk how this is supposed to trigger /o/ though
I'm having some trouble with my Diesel engine. Just wondering if anybody has an idea of what the problem is.
It is a Universal 5411 inboard diesel for a sailboat. It was running fine all day, suddenly made a different sound ,kind of like a huffing, and then died. All tries to restart it have failed.
We have checked the fuel and bled the system. It turns over just fine.
The big thing I've noticed is that puffing is coming from the air intake, as in it is pushing out air instead of sucking in. Could this be a timing issue?
Any help is appreciated. We are stuck on the GUlf Intracoastal Wateray, 30 miles from the nearest dock.
>>16335281
It also was extremely hot after it died. Has oil, just was a bit low.
Overheated it?
>>16335288
is the water for the intercooler flowing freely? could be buildup.
Why does /o/ hate them so much ? Anyone else actually like them?
because they're expensive
who cares about some boring luxury car company
>>16334279
i'd rather buy a F-type with an actual manual transmission, looks better too
lmao i'm rich as fuck (me on the right), how does it feet to be poor cuck haha
>there are people in the world scraping by with two jobs
>there are people making five digits doing what the worked long and hard their entire lives to achieve
>this guy makes six digits reading off manufacturer brochures and describing how buttons feel
Why is the world so unfair?
Why can't he afford pants that fit
>>16333782
Manlet
So, /o/, show me, what is the most aerodynamic car shape?
Aerodynamic is what way? Least drag coefficient or most down force?
This one.
>>16331647
Least drag.
What do you do when you park your manual transmission car? Do you just pull the handbrake, put it in gear, or both?
Here in MA it's pretty damn cold right now so I've been avoiding the handbrake, and I'll just put it in first.
I've been doing it the same way for quite some time, but I've recently been that it's better to park in reverse regardless of uphill or downhill slant, since that gear provides the most torque. True?
>>16331248
who cares. shit aint going anywhere.
>>16331248
AZ here.
I set the handbrake, leave it in neutral. Habit I picked up driving diesel trucks with mechanical fuel shutoffs.
But yeah I hear ya on the cold thing. Don't want the handbrake freezing up with it on lol
Sometimes I forget the handbrake and just leave it in first on the driveway. It's pretty level and I wake up to go to work and notice to say "oh fuck I totally forgot" and just go about my day.
I really treat my car like shit I should feel ashamed. All those years of automatic has spoiled me.
