Alright /o/, I've been pondering the question for a while now, and cant seem to find anything on it, so tell me, if one were from Alberta Canada, is it illegal to make a crown vic look like a police car? (I wont be painting it with logos or anything, just throwing on a bullbar on the front and some police esc rims. along with some grille mounted led's so it looks like an unmarked.)

So my 2012 V6 Accord is part of a settlement with Honda because of the VCM oil consumption issue which fouls plugs and burns oil and causes shitty idling and shitty piston rings etc.
Dealer refuses to fix anything until the check engine light comes on despite the tsbs and the extended warranty Honda put out as part of the settlement. I don't know if I should put my faith in the "fix" or get rid of the car
Fuck this car....I thought it was going to be damn near bulletproof but now I have to figure this shitty situation out

What am I supposed to look for as red flags when I'm used car shopping if I'm not a mechanic/have no experience wrenching on cars? How am I supposed to tell if a car has been well maintained or niggerrigged to run alright during a test drive and then shit itself 2,000 miles later?
Obviously you take the car to a mechanic pre-purchase, but if I'm looking at 5+ different cars, that's 250 bucks I could've saved if I knew what to look for/knew which cars to immediately discount.
