>January 2017
>Go to Tokyo Auto Salon with buddy like I do every year
>See all the JDM fan kids with their DSLRs try to contain their jizz in their nutsacks while photographing the new Liberty Walk or Rocket Bunny kit car
>Walking down the aisle because Honda was about to do a presentation on the new Civic
>Talking to my buddy as we're walking to the Honda booth
>This weird voice behind us like someone with a bloody nose trying to talk while tilting their head backwards and pinching their nose says "A lot of English speakers here this year."
>Turn around to see this lanky girl in a faded jeans with an equally faded pink jeans shirt with a face of person with cerebral palsy
>Take a few seconds for us to realize that she was talking to us.
>Buddy looks at her "are you talking to us?"
>"Yea who else would I be talking to?"
>Buddy- "I would have assumed all the other English speakers you mentioned about"
>Troll lets out this weird awkward snicker like she just saw a penis for the first time "No, I write for Jalopnik and I'm here each year and noticed there are more English speakers every year." *flashes her pass that has Jalopnik underlined with stars she drew around*
>Buddy- "Oh that explains a lot."
>Possible pre-op Tranny- "What do you mean?"
>Buddy- "Well like most of the articles on Jalopnik, the first few sentences if not words are usually personal opinions on supposed facts that have no evidence or even followed by an explanation, and are usually false. You pretty much just did the exact same thing."
>"Ye...yeah some of the articles are pretty opinionated..."
>Buddy then just turns around and keeps walking towards the Honda booth

>Back at the hotel buddy finds her tweets.
Pic Related,

tldr; went to Tokyo Auto Salon, turns out Jalopnik writers are socially awkward snowflakes.

Hypothetically, they would have to have some sort of BOLO or unequivocal proof that it was you such as something specific on your bike/car.

stop making this thread. the answer is ducati. they make the best looking bikes by far.

the bike in your picture is a GSXR. it's a GOAT tier generic sport bike known for reliability, power, and low cost. but it really isn't that aesthetic

2012 cbr1000rr. Shit choice really aesthetically.

Ok guys I'm looking for my first car since I passed my driving test, I only have 3-4k to spend and will probably be traveling a lot due to a job I have lined up. Would I be better off leasing or buying? Also from what I gather a used Ford Fiesta is probably the best choice from what I've picked up lurking here.. any suggestions?

Get a civic for 3k. Don't buy a new econobox.
>>

Should I be concerned with cars that have a lot of miles on the clock?
>>
>>16534853
Honestly, anything at that price point is going to be dicey. Fiesta, Corolla, Civic would all be reasonable choices.

Why are Volkswagens and Audis more expensive to maintain compared to Toyota and Lexus?
27 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>16534779
Several reasons:

>Audi tax
>VAG doesn't really manufacture parts within the US
>VAG cars breakdown more often
>>
>>16534779
Because you're a burger and VAG doesn't have the manufacturing capacity in the US to make parts and have to ship them from Europe.
>>
>>16534779
GM cutting corners and telling Germans to do their usual over engineering with a lesser budget than they're used to.

They also feel incredibly cheap. My friend has an Audi and it felt like being in a base model Toyota Camry.

Alright, I didn't want to make this thread without googling, but I can't seem to find my particular problem anywhere so any help would be appreciated.

I drive a used 2000 Chevy Malibu and it's got a huge overheating problem. I can go weeks without anything happening but then randomly for no reason my temp will spike and not go down unless I turn the car off. When I bought it, it had a new water pump, and thermostat, and I had the fan replaced already. So far the constant symptoms I've noticed is the temp will fluctuate until it finds an equilibrium and stay steady, sometimes when I unscrew the reservoir coolant will pout out the overflow, and there's a large amount of smoke coming from my exhaust. Any ideas would be a huge help because I'm lost at this point. Plz and thnx.

The coolant is the proper color? It doesn't have oil in it?

Check your oil for any coolant leaks into it.
>>
>>16534840
Both the coolant and oil seem to be their proper color. Granted I kind of flip back and forth between concentrate and 50/50 coolant depending on what's available. But the oil is constantly the same color and consistency.
>>
>>16534660
If you don't have OBD2 to check the car, some store chains such as O'Reilly's have a free OBD2 check they can give you. The error codes may give you a hint as to what the overall problem is based on the codes the car computer is throwing out.

hey /o/, ive decided that i will be buying a 964 in the near future and wanted some opinions on financing. i have been using a debit card for years and just a few months ago finally got a credit card. ive never taken a loan, mortgage, or anything so as of now i dont even have a credit score yet. i have a very plush job for someone my age and can easily afford 30% down and the monthly payments until the car is paid off as well as having extra money in case the car needs repairs, and to pay the increase in insurance. how hard do you guys think it would be to get a loan for the car? any other advise?

and obviously i need to wait util i have a credit score before i even go to the bank for a loan. are co-signers a good idea?
>>
Co signing is good but your credit won't be helped as much as if you did it yourself. Be sure to add sales tax, dealer fees, and registration fees to the cost too.

I have good credit, was a first time buyer but had a mortgage and credit card. Went through a credit union, their one condition was no shorter than 72 months, no "short" term allowed. But there isn't any penalty paying it off faster.
>>
>>16534479
a 72 month would be perfect, in fact i wouldnt mind a longer payment plan as i dont see myself getting rid of the car. thanks.

You can argue that it is. It was sold in Japan as the Toyota Cavalier
