you need to learn how to weld if you don't already. You need to widen the tunnel to the back. You need to decide on a rear suspension design and figure out the geometry. You need to redo the front suspension. You need a custom front subframe.
There is no easy way to do this. It's a LOT of welding. You'll wind up dropping 10k easily on a RWD conversion before you get to the engine and transmission.

manual tranny, 2.4L, sleek streamline aesthetic I like.
Yeah it's front wheel drive but it's the right tool for my needs. I commute ~55-70 miles a day, and would like to venture out on weekend adventures. I was set on a 350z for awhile, but the insurance costs and MPG turns me away... I feel like the poor MPG would make me NOT want to go on trips to the mountains and beach and etc.
Forte SX make a good little commuter, /o/?

The Forte is definitely fun to drive and has a surprising aftermarket I say go for it. Either that or a Civic Si.
Just a tip for the future though, the only Kias worth checking into are all equipped with the SX trim level.

swaps have been done but it is not as easy swap like a 4.6 DOHC or a 5.4 SOHC/DOHC. Most tend to stray away from this swap sinse there is better gains in DOHC v8 swaps. The v10 never had much aftermarket and there is little info on a swap sense it was an unpoular engine, even in trucks. Most only do it just to be unique. It has definitely been done before but I don't got much info on how too. If you got time and money then sure go for it. Its a free engine in your case. Id say u can try sticking it in a Sn-95 roller. Try going for a dead GT sinse it will have the stronger 8.8 Rear end.
