I've owned plenty of cars in my life (the count is up to 23 now). Mostly Japanese. But I've always had a soft spot for Honda's. Good cars overall.
Can we get a Honda thread going?
>tfw patiently waiting for the 2017 Si
>Literally a honda general thread up at all times
>Doesn't use it
Dumbass namefag.
>>16538380
>or maybe there wasn't a thread at the time I made this one, and it's just another honda general thread.
How long does she have, /o/?

Help me negotiate my buying price for this 2010 Mini in excellent condition similar to pic related. 21,000 miles.
>Me: Are you willing to budge on the price?
>Seller: What's your offer?
>Me: Going off kbb I would say 8000 but it is in great condition so I'm only really willing to spend 9000
>Seller: Sorry that's too low. I still have a loan on it and 9000 wouldn't be enough to pay it off.
>>16537602
>buying an r56
>buying an r56 from someone underwater
Shiggy diggy. The r56 is a shit car and clearly it's had a shitty owner.
You:
>UNLUCKY, ASSWIPE! you buy a new car knowing you're gonna lose out. you can sell it to me for 9, or keep hold of it until you've paid the loan out of your own pocket anyway, when you'll be begging me to take it for 7

Typically stated incorrectly but it's not like it's an oxymoron.
>$xxxxx invested
>good project car
>maybe parting it
The fuck's the difference? Can someone explain?
>>16537363
Mazda 3 hatch is considerably smaller than the other three for one thing. Who the hell made this picture its awful at comparing these cars.
>>16537363
wagons have more room than hatchbacks. Wagons also have a D pillar that hatchbacks don't.
SUVs, these days, are lifted wagons.
Minivans are as low as a wagon, as tall as an suv, have more room than both and sliding doors for maximum ease of access
>>16537379
It's from Amazon
You see this on the street.
What do you think about it, and what do you think about the owner?
>>16537340
I don't see it, as I look right past it.
Also, never consider the owner's existence.
What do I look like a fuckin philosopher or something? I don't just walk around all day thinking about shit and object and there owners
I mean, it could be worse. It doesn't scream "look at me!"
Are all-season tires really that bad? I have Goodyear Eagle Sport All-seasons on my summer rims and I was wondering if switching them to dedicated summer tires similar in cost would make a significant difference.
>>16537058
Yes i have toyo extensa hps on the front of my car and mpss on the rear and despite the veey low tread void on the mpss tires they hydroplane far less than the toyo UHP all seasons up front
>>16537058
All seasons are fine for non-performance driving in summer weather. They're just really shitty in winter.
>>16537114
I have a set of Blizzaks for winter, so I'm not too worried about that. I guess I'll just wear the Eagle Sports out then buy some summer tires.
What would a drift-worthy Bel Air look like?
Covered in snow.
Invisible
Because they don't exist
probably something like this
I'm moving to salt lake city, Utah from my current home in Pennsylvania in April for work. I'm taking two weeks without pay to spend time with friends and family and then spending 2 weeks to drive out there (making stops in Colorado, Southern Utah, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, looping over the Yellowstone and ending in salt lake city).
I'm buying a used car to take with me. Assuming I had a $6000 limit, what car would you buy? I'm open to any type of car and don't mind automatics or manuals

Currently own a Toyota 86 and am looking for another car to buy that has pop-ups. Has to generally reliable (so no Nissan), not too expensive (<$10,000), manual, and not too hard to find (willing to travel across a few states to buy it). Please don't suggest an MX-5.

LURK MORE NEWFAG
I recently purchased a 2000 Hyundai coupe fx and am looking to upgrade fucking ANYTHING to make it run better. It's completely stock other than visuals. However, after a while of searching online, there's fucking nothing online. I'm Aussie so I'm trying to find local before giving up and going for international. Can anyone direct me the right way? I'm not too good with cars.
>>16536356
before doing anything remember there are proper steps to modify a car. First pick wheels and tires. Then brakes. Make sure your wheels are large enough to clear the brakes you want. Then suspension. And THEN go for engine/transmission mods.
That said, here's a few links to be of use.

Save your money for when you're off P'plates and can have a good car.
>>16536426
That's what the guy I bought it from did. Got off his P's, sold this, and bought something he could spruce up. Any recommendations?

Thanks a ton for the links. Bookmarked them and I'll review them later. It's 6:30am and I haven't slept yet
I have an automotive electrical problem.
I got aftermarket fog lights that I installed myself. They stopped working simultaneously after maybe 5 months.
-The switch light is still working, and when I press it, the relay clicks (have not tested for continuity).
-The fuse in the fuse box is coming off a pigtail. The fuse is continuous, but I am not sure how to test the pigtail for continuity, or if I have to. I think it's fine since the switch is working.
-Another fuse is coming off the wire connected to the battery in its own case. That is pic related. The fuse is corroded and melted, but it is continuous. Even if that isn't the main problem, it raises concerns about something else wrong with my wiring. Hopefully I didn't short everything out.
-The connection to the battery looks clean.
Can you guys give me some guidance? This is my first electrical project.
>>16536292
the resistance is likely too high when running at the rated current and voltage, replace the melted one
>>16536292
start randomly stabbing for continuity along a lot of your wires. Check for your ground and connection points for corrosion.
Its a fair conclusion that your switch works if it triggers the relay, I would assume the power TO the relay is good, start checking from there.
Also replace that fuse, lol. Usually if you overload a circuit wiring will start to fry/melt rather than the fuse itself. If you put a 25a fuse in a 15a circuit, the fuse would be the strongest part if the circuit. If what the fuse plugs INTO however, is melting, then you got another issue all together.
Is the wiring rated for the amount of power its supplied/drawing?
pic unrelated
>>16536322
>>16536313
I bought the wiring, fuse, parts, etc in a package. If it isn't rated for 15A, I'll be really upset with the seller/manufacturer.
I'll go double check the fuse connections, though I didn't notice anything before. After that, I'll head to O'Reilly's for a new fuse.
Long story short.
When I first got into cars I wanted something fun but also a hybrid for gas. I thought the CRZ would be great.
After getting significantly more into cars, and test driving several, the CRZ is just...Soulless, I guess.
Still, every time I see one in the road I turn my head. They're unironically gorgeous. But someone was telling me that even if you heavily mod the car, the goddamn chassis will start tearing apart or something past 200+ HP.
Is there anything that can be done about it? Everything about the car is shit other than the handling, shifter, and styling.
>>16536282
It was supposed to be a modern CRX before Honda went full retard with the hybrid drive train. Now it has about the same amount of power as the original CRX but weighs an extra 1000+ pounds, oh and has none of the benefits associated with being a Hybrid.
>>16536282
>But someone was telling me that even if you heavily mod the car, the goddamn chassis will start tearing apart or something past 200+ HP.
This is bullshit. That will not happen. That person is retarded.
a 200+ hp crx would still be slower and less fun than a c6 corvette
