I'm in the market for a jeep is a(mercedes jeep glc) any good?
All suggestions are appreciated
>>16676281
Have you test driven any? What's your budget? Do you like performance vs comfort?
I'd rank Merc>BMW>Lexus>>>>>>>>>>>Audi
>>16676284
Test no
Performance over comfort
500000 550000
The Jeep Grand Cherokee sounds just about good for you man. Why don't you take that one out for a test drive and try a moose test while you're at it. You'll be amazed by how it performs. No seatbelts needed during the moose test, because it's a jeep :)

Car name thread time
AWWWWWW SHIIIIIIIT
let's talk about car names.
I prefer a miture of numbers and letters over actual names,
But actual car names are cool.
The best all time car name I belive is the WRX STI M SPEC
It sounds so Jdm...
Volvo B10m
It's truly no bullshit.
B - Bus chassis
10 - 10 litre turbodiesel
m - mid mounted
Skyline GT-R Nur-Spec II
Just say it
>Nur-Spec
>>16675854
I'm pretty sure it's "GTR V-SPEC II Nur"
So I have a 2005 KIA Sorento with just over 140k miles on it. Anything I should be worried about?

Cover up the badge or else everyone on the road will think you're an asshole who can't drive
Why do people mod their R34s to give them a super high amount of horsepower when the car can only go up to 180km/h?
Same with other cars. What's the point of giving your car 1000hp when there's a maximum speed it can get to which is usually between 180-220km/h.
>>16675449
is this bait
a car isn't limited to it's dashboard gauges; it can accelerate past the limit of such gauges given it has enough power
Acceleration. It's not about top speed. Very few people ever get close to the top speed of thier car. People want to look cool from signal lights and accelerate faster like the bald muscle man and the dead guy from the Furiously Gay movies.
>>16675470
No this is a serious question.
If the car can go faster than what's on the gauge, then why do the manufacturers out 180 as the max speed?
Why put any maximum speed at all?
How the fuck are you all able to buy these nice cars? Are you financing them? Where the fuck does the money come from?
I'm a student and wait tables at a restaurant on the side and I'm broke as shit. What the fuck?

>>16675429
1. Graduate.
2. Get a decent job.
3. Save money.
4. SAVE MONEY.
5. Save until you have enough money to comfortably pay the car in cash.
6. Instead of buying in cash, finance at a low rate with 20% down.
7. With the remainder of the purchase price, invest the money and beat the minuscule interest rates on car loans.
8. Walk away with a decent car that you would have purchased anyways, and capital gains.
Poorfag here, what's the cheapest car I can buy which will look cool enough for me to be able to pretend to be the Driver?
>>16675388
Bike.
You need at least $25k minimum for something cool

Hey /o/
So I got a 1998 Ford f150 5.4 and I'm getting a new flow master muffler installed tomorrow. My truck has been known in my group of friends to be the quietest of the group, what would be the best way to reveal it to my friends? The most confusing or surprising way possible
>>16675210
You should just remove the down pipe and muffler that will make it loud
um....just tell them, it's only a fucking muffler

that'll be 300 dollars, please
Does anyone else like those cube, box cars? If so why?
>>16674831
I like box cars. they're extremely practical, and despite being boxy, they're often heavily styled and quirky. I like that. I love little quirky cars.
I have a soft sport for the Cube, but only with the 6 speed manual.
>>16674831
Everyone that drives box cars appear to be over 60 years old. However their target buyers are parents who want to buy their 16 year kid a car.
>>16674831
They're insanely practical in terms of usable space and I actually don't mind the styling.
I picked up a Cube a while ago as a cheap little second car and I love the thing.
Perspective doesn't really do it justice, but with the rear seats removed there's a crazy amount of space in the rear, and not just in terms of depth, but height as well, i've had a fully boxed dishwasher in mine, washing machine, downhill bike fits in there, camping gear, TONS of boxes of car parts, helping friends move etc
Easily has more space than my Forester and I honestly wish their were more cars like the Cube.
Any anons here mechanics, know some mechanics or work in any automotive careers? If any of you care I'm tired of my current college major and was thinking if going into fixing cars since I like cars
>>16674493
Do you really want to end up in a dead end job working on shit cars earning minimum wage in a field that's going to be phased out over the next 10-15 years because you were too lazy to finish college?
Quit being a lazy faggot, pick a field of engineering, science or business that interests you, work your ass off, find a nice job earning 80-100k a year, indulge all your /o/ hobbies.
>>16674493
Liking cars has almost nothing to do with whether you will enjoy being a mechanic/be successful in the field
>>16674586
>field that's going to be phased out over the next 10-15 years
Sure man, in 15 years cars won't break anymore
>>16674586
I was planning on going back to school for a mechanical engineering degree afterwards but right now I'm just struggling in a degree I have no interest in (English). I though it would be better to go out and get some experience and then come back for a degree.
>>16674602
I'm interested in the mechanics and working of cars and automotive vehicles. I would love to eventually get into dirt biking and motorcycles. I simply thought going an automotive job route would suite me better.
Btw are mechanics really gonna be obsolete within the years?
She'll always appreciate a real man with a real truck.

>"real man"

Yeah... a pubescant 16 year old is not a man
>>16674354
>real man
>truck
In this day and age, "real men" that drive trucks only buy them to make up for something. I'm not gonna say penis, that jokes dumb lawl.. But it's too make them look large and in charge, or "intimidating". Then there are those that just buy them, to well... buy them, but don't actually use it for working. The word poser comes to mind.
Like you said, women don't care what kind of car you have let alone a truck. Maybe in Texas or the South, Country women sure (truck that is).. But now women also think if drive a truck but don't use it for work, they just think you're some sort of poser that thinks he uses his truck for work use.
t. Trugg owner (poser)
>>16674529
One thing though, trucks do strike a dominant, supporting, father like status. Besides my dad and grandfathers, I think of it like, what would Thor, Odin, or God drive? A fuckin' F-250 jacked up to the sky, ready to tow the winter/ or summer toys.
