Will the first gen CR-V be a future classic? I'm kinda regretting selling mine a couple years back. It was mint and only had about 70K on it.
>>16685447
It reminds me of an early volvo, but japanese. Boxy, reliable, good.
I have a 01 with 150k miles in very good condition that I don't drive much any more now that it is replaced by my wife's RX350.
I am planning on keeping it for dump runs and winter driving (my DD is RWD). I'm wondering if I should do a little lift on it, or do something like GS-R head and make a little punk out of it.
>>16685447
They'll be a shitty meme car like Volvo 240s, only faggots will want them and they still won't command a high price.
>>16685479
I think hipsters will dig the picknic table built into it

Good get?
Found this car on Japan-Partner
Costs a total of $3,603 to ship to my port. I absolutely love this color, it being a stick shift just makes it even more tempting.
Should I bite the bullet on my next payday?
Looks bretty good from the photographs.
>Car that's considered universally good by people in general, common sense, countless reviewers, journalists etc.
>/o/ shits all over it because it's popular, parrots memes about the car/driver and nitpicks everything to hell and back and never provides any substantial argument
>someone doesn't like a car that's considered bad, usually due it being objectively inferior to competition in considerable ways, as once again agreed upon by people in general, common sense, countless reviewers, journalists etc.
>N-NO YOU'RE JUST HATERS, STAY MAD KEK LMAO BTFO <insert strawman here> X COMPETITOR IS SHIT LOL Y WULD U EVER BUY THAT LOOK THIS MEME
I just want to talk about cars with people who aren't here to talk out of their ass and blindly fanboy/hateboner everything, jesus christ. I can't believe anybody here is actually old enough to own a car. The Honda kiddies who think their cars are anything but econoboxes are easily the worst on both of these fronts.
Fucking shit, this place is nothing but parroting shitposts for attention and post purchase rationalization

salesman here, day off. you guys have any questions? I sell new chevys/cadillacs and used cars
>>16683778
why yall mothefuckers keep trying to sell me a cadillac every time i go in for warranty work on my fucking sonic
>>16683802
idk
maybe the sales manager put a spiff on cadillacs at that specific dealer
keep in mind 80% of salesman are failures in everything else and get by on persitence.
personally I don't bother people in service unless they seek me out, waste of my time. you can tell when someone needs/wants a new car and is ready/willing/able
>>16683778
How stupid do you have to be to buy a new chevy?
Can i just buy one in Australia and ship it here or are there going to be stupid ass rules.
>>16683738
25 year import rule.
Also, nobody wants a luxury pickup truck, because it's an oxymoron.
New cars in the US require extensive US only crash tests, in addition to a few other US only requirements.
Mercedes realizes Americans only like body on frame trucks, so its not worth it to try to sell this/damage their brand image.

Is sending more than 50% of the torque to the rear wheels even possible what a transeverse AWD? Could what's described in this scene be possibly without having to mount the engine longitudinally? I'd ask google but I feel like this is too specific to get any kind of answer for
>>16681107
I can't remember exactly what years it was, but I think 2004/2005 STI's were already a 35/65 split, so i'd assume the show is just referencing some part swapping from a different model.
>>16681171
They were longitudinal with a centre differential. The shaft(s) to the rear wheels weren't daisychained to the front transaxle which is my understanding of how AWD works connected to a transverse mounted engine
>>16681107
Suzuki did it on the SX4. In Auto mode, it could send more than 50% of power to the rear wheels, as much as 90% IIRC. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
>>16681171
But Subarus use a longitudinal AWD system
