Just came back from the Chicago Auto Show.
Absolutely disgusted with modern cars using laggy, bloated touch screen infotainment systems to perform the most rudimentary tasks. Some cars even have TWO touch screens *cough Acura cough*
Most new cars also feel like shit in general. High beltlines and akward dash ergonomics don't make for intuitive cockpits. Subaru were the only cars you could get in and not feel the need to adjust, just get in and go.
Overall, new cars are cancer. This was not how the future was supposed to be.

Plano police confirm two 16-year-old girls died and another was injured when the Porsche they were traveling in crashed into a tree late Friday night. Family and friends identified the victims as Samantha Sacks and Lilly Davis. Sydney Sacks, the older sister of Samantha, gave NBC DFW a picture of her sister and Davis standing side by side.
Friends confirmed Kendall Murray was injured in the collision. She remains hospitalized at Medical City Plano and was listed in critical condition Saturday evening. "All three of the girls in the accident were best friends. They played volleyball together so they’re really good friends," Sydney said. The crash happened Friday around 11:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Mira Vista Road.
Officers said the 2016 Porsche Macan was speeding southbound when the driver struck a tree in the road's median. Police said Sacks and Davis died at the scene. Sydney Sacks said she and her sister did everything together. "She had such a bright future ahead of her. She wanted to be a doctor. She wanted to go to Harvard," Sydney said. "She was always bold and honest and always a light, always laughing," friend Kyra Cooper said about Davis.

I am needing a second car for a commute and also working out of the car. I have been looking at older civics as I don't want to spend more than 2500 or so and love the early to mid 90s hatch backs. I found a VX model that had one owner not abuse and no modifications. Only snag is it has no factory installed A/C just for shits and giggles how much would it cost to buy one and have it installed ball park figures of course?

i live next to the great lakes with flat flat flat plains everywhere and the occasional hills
i did a road trip down towards Pennsylvania once, just hills but there were some nice curvy roads. Rural areas but still populated though so can't really do anything naughty (fucking scary at night though, no lights in most places)

If my start offs are a bit jerky, what am i doing wrong?
Also does anyone have any tips for hillstarts. I thought I had them when but had real trouble yesterday. I use the handbrake but once I put the handbrake down I ended up stalling still

Lighter left foot for hillstarts. Slowly release the clutch until the car lifts up, that means you'll roll forward if you release the handbrake. Generally before you release the handbrake you'd want to give it a little gas too just in case.
Start offs being jerky is just a dumb left foot too so I think you'll just get better over time. Me in my first month was jerky shit but after 4-5 months it's smooth. Gas before clutch (a little gas) every launch. You jerk around because engine braking starts when you don't give it throttle.
