I thought newer cars were unibodies and couldn't have their roofs cut off without completely fucking up the structural integrity? How does this work?
yeah its not like they dont weld in an entirely new roof or nothing
>>16758636
this boomer had too much cash.
Well spent imo
>>16758636
That looks like an old mustang had an abortion
>>16758644
It doesn't look like they welded that roof on in the webm but I could be wrong
Redpill me on the caterham seven 160.
Is there any reason, except for comfort, not to buy one?
>>16758212
You have to built it yourself and I wouldn't trust anything I would make...
>>16758221
You can buy it fully assebled as well.
>>16758226
I'm sure it's wildly more expensive though
My EA82 Subaru uses about a quart a week (oil pan gasket leak, motor mostly resealed) if I'm not driving a whole lot, I check the oil every time I drive it and it's always very clean and light in color.
Since I'm constantly refreshing the oil, should I really ever have to change it?
I'm autismo about proper maintenance so this is just a hypothetical Q, I'll probably change it at 3k like the cuck I am
not really? although crap is gonna build up, and you're probably not leaking that at the rate you're leaking oil, if at all.
and even then, oil filters dont last forever
fix the fucking leak
Fix the leak you lazy fuck.
>>16757654
You'll need to change the filter, and you can't do that with oil still in the engine.
Have you considered fixing the leak?
Convince me to learn to drive manual and then buy a car in manual.

Step 1 clutch bite point
>get going using only clutch no gas. Do this 5 times in a row without stopping.
Step 2 actual starts
>add gas to mix. Don't go crazy with gas or clutch dumping
3. Downshifting
>blip throttle before releasing clutch to smooth out downshifts.
4. Hill starts
>learn to balance right foot between brake and gas. Handbrake is bitch-mode.
5. Practice practice practice. You should be competent within a week.
/o/ I need your help. I made promotion (yay me) so I'll be driving way more for work. This results in me having to trade in my mx5 for a diesel because it's way more economical.
Now I need a reliable diesel that has good economy. Preferably a light one, taxes in my country are based on weight and the tax is double on diesel cars.
Searching led me to a Fiat punto Evo (1.3). I have no past experience with Fiat or any non-japanese brand (honda-honda-mazda). Are Fiats any good?
>>16757646
Get a used Citroën c6 with the big diesel
>>16757646
LPG your mx5
I don't think I understand. You got a promotion, so you want to buy a new car with a diesel, and the taxes are doubled. And this is somehow cheaper than keeping your current car and paying a little bit more in gas?
My mates and I are getting an f-body roller for fun soon, I'm in charge of putting an engine together for it.
I want to make an SBC 302 with a 350 block (2 or 4 bolt mains, large journals), and 283 pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft. There aren't many screamer small blocks around and it sounds like loads of fun.
>Is this the right formula for a homebuilt 302?
>Am I missing anything?
>Would the use of hydraulic roller cams effect how high the engine can rev?
>Should I go carb or EFI?
>is there anything you recommend?
This one is mainly going to be built from junkyard parts and the like to the keep the cost down. I usually work on motorcycles, so V8 pushrod engines are a little new to me.
>>16757346
If you want to build a motor that revs, worry less about total displacement and more about optimal rod: stroke ratio, correct head size and flow as well as compression ratio desired
You use the 283 crank. The pistons are too small. It's 4.00x3.00 bore stroke. You use 350 pistons
>>16757926
Ignore him. He knows literally nothing about building engines
Anyone have one of these? Im looking at one for my 2017 taco and was wondering whats better?
There is one that drills into the bed for 170-ish like pic related, and then one that just used the bed slide rails for like 220. Is the 50 bucks extra worth not having to drill into the bed?
Also general offroad parts thread
The other one that uses the rail.
1st one that drills into the bed
Your wheel will get stolen. Lock it to the truck, not just the wheel holder frame, to at least try to slow thieves.
Is either type easily removable if you wanted to use the truck bed?

What are you trying to say? You've never driven manual before?
Why do American cars look prettier than jap cars and less overdesigned than european cars?
Because we are simple minded. You have to take that as a compliment and an insult
that car looks like cheap trash though
worse than both Europe and Japan
They all made beautiful cars...
Example 1.
Toyota 2000GT
My God this is one sexy as fuck sex beast..
>Now this thread may seem dumb because most of em her are poorfags including me. But what are your opinions on this car?
My opinion? I may consider dropping my 911 as a dream car to this one because I freaking love wagons or shooting breaks or whatever you may call.

Help me decide a car.
Cars:
Mx5 NA, NB or NC
Mr2 gen 3
Alfa Romeo Spider 16V 2.0
Wants:
Something that can be lived with everyday
Something that wont be a money pit of maintenance.
Something that will be somewhat fuel efficient when not hooning it.
Fun to drive and responsive, being very fast is secondary to this.
Max budeget is €6000, and all these can be got for that.
obviously you can't go wrong with a miata. cruise control for easy ownership.
spider for when you're not afraid of having to fix stuff a lot, mr2 for when you're good at driving.
I'd say the miata or MR2 both are really great cars
Avoid Alfa like the plague
>>16756925
Miatas are great
90s Alfas are trash
The MR2 is slow and literally has a trunk the size of a shoebox.
the fuck are we heading to?
>turbo three cylinder
meh who cares. just another engine type with its pros and cons
>cylinder deactivation
i fucking HATE this. turn that shit off asap.
you know whats the worst though? when they have those v8's that go to v4 unless you turn it off or rev its tits off. you're actually KEKING your v8 for a v4. actual cucking. kys if you own a car that does this
