So, looks like it's what I need to do what I want. I've never had a Wrangler before, and some things are shocking - like, why the hell isn't there a hood lock???
The question is, what else is there that most first time Wrangler buyers will have a heart attack over? Are there any essentials that need to be bought right away or even together with the car?

>Are there any essentials that need to be bought right away or even together with the car?
37'' tires so you can't accelerate properly.
At least 3 rigid LED bars in case the street lights go out on the way to yoga.
The hood latch is just another place to grab onto while your boyfriend thrusts into your ass.
I mean, assuming you've already bought a second one to harvest parts for your daily, you should be good to go

that's a lot of butthurt there, anon... Did your gf leave you for a guy in a Jeep?
As much as I love my car, I sometimes wish that I had a car that was much newer so I could get the now standard things like leather seats, built-in touch screen/digital head units, etc.
The interiors of newer cars are really comfy, and I get kinda jealous when I'm in my friend's 2014 Ford. But then I think about what piece of shit car I'd have gotten instead of a GTR for the same price just for the leather seats.
Anyways, owners of 80s/90s cars that don't have the standard features that cars have these days, what don't like about them?
>>16755912
You do know you can change the seats, right?
Like they come out and stuff?
>>16755912
They're conveniences, but there's an aftermarket answer for most. They're necessary in modern cars because we're in an age where driving is solely a chore and the buyers-to-be don't give a shit about anything beyond A to B.

so, you have a GT-R?

Sorry to phonepost but I felt the need to share this.
I will preface this inquiry by making it very clear I know very little about cars and car care. Basically the reason I'm seeking the help of folks who know much more than I.
I really appreciate any help.
So I purchased an 04 Honda Civic coupe about 3 months back. It's been pretty awesome so far :) but recently I noticed the belts next to the engine on the driver side will squeal for a bit (only in mornings or when it hasn't been driven for a while) it eventually goes away. Also noticed squeaking noise when I take my foot off the brake. I had a mechanic check it out, and turns out two belts need to be replaced as well as both front brakes and rotors.
The day I took it to the mechanic I noticed a burning smell coming from what seems like the front tires. The repairs come out to around $300 for the brakes and $150 for the belts. Thing is, I can't afford these fixes for about a week or so.
I use my car VERY often. I am a pizza delivery driver. The burning smell is my real concern. Every time I get out of my car after driving I can smell it, loudly. Though it seems to me like it's coming from the front tires (brakes), I'm not sure if the belts would cause such a smell.
My question is, whatever is causing that burning smell that's scaring the shit out of me, how safe is it to drive like that? And how long can I keep going before the repairs can be afforded?
Again I really appreciate any help.
Almost forgot. One last note, the brakes seem to work normal. There doesn't seem to be a problem with functionality. Just the burning smell (I think is the brakes) and the squeak noise every time I let off the brake.

1. Belts cost $10 each and are extremely easy to change yourself. I can't exclaim just how much I hate normalfags that are too scared to work on their own cars. It's easy as fuck and you save so much god damn money. Don't spend $150 for a mechanic to change them FFS. Also, they will work for a long time after starting to squeak, so go watch some ericthecarguy videos and do them yourself
2. Probably is your brakes. Also extremely easy to change. Watch ericthecarguy walkthroughs and do them yourself.
Bump
Sorry, I really need some input on this as I'm really scared. To smell a burning smell every time I get out of my car is quite scary, especially for me as I don't know how safe it is.
>>16755886
Thanks. I'll definitely check out those videos. But, the burning smell? Should that be fixed asap? Is it most likely the brakes making that smell?
Also, like I said I know very little about cars, much less about working on them myself. The only thing I've done myself is battery changes, oil changes and replacing a battery cable link. I'm not gonna kid myself and act like I can do repairs myself. Really, I just don't wanna fuck shit up, ya know?
>have a ~$20k budget
>want to get a 2012 c300 ~$17k
>friends tell me its a money pit and will regret it
>think they're memeing
Do you agree with them /o/? I usually only drive about 3,000 miles a year and I take great care of my current vehicle its an older Buick with 250,000 miles and is still running good.
can I expect a relatively low maintenance cost within the first few years? obviously I'm planning to have it checked out by my mechanic before buying
>>16755711
I have a 2008 c350 amg and its fine, they're memeing.
>>16755723
>>16755723
how long have you owned it?
>>16755711
Maintenance costs will be higher, but as long as you service the car properly, it should be a reliable machine. Labor costs at German specialty shops do tend to be higher compared to Japanese and American counterparts, but if if you live in a large enough city, there are usually some reputable and fairly priced shops to be found.
Is this /our/car /o/?
>>16755702
No.
Is this your third try making this thread? If you're hired to shill that car then maybe try a different approach.

How do I know which muffler I should get?

>>16755653
>How do I know which muffler I should get?
I dont know, I dont mess with fart cans.
>Also where do you guys shop for parts?
www.rockauto.com is the only answer.
>>16755653
Magnaflow. Quieter at idle/low RPM than Flowmaster but still sounds the same otherwise.
>>16756431
A fart cannon is a giant exhaust tip put onto a straightpipe or maybe a cherry bomb at best.
>>16756439
>he thinks that magnaflows and flowmasters arent the same thing as fart cans
For me, Quad Turbo Quad Rotor engine with Hybrid MGU K, MGU H, etc.
Oh yeah and I forgot, all that mated to a Direct Drive transmission
