the fuck are we heading to?
>turbo three cylinder
meh who cares. just another engine type with its pros and cons
>cylinder deactivation
i fucking HATE this. turn that shit off asap.
you know whats the worst though? when they have those v8's that go to v4 unless you turn it off or rev its tits off. you're actually KEKING your v8 for a v4. actual cucking. kys if you own a car that does this

top kek, ment cucking

There is nothing wrong with cylinder deactivation
>>16756853
as someone who soley owns POS it freaks me out when it happens as i automatically assume the car/engine has shit itself

fuel efficiency
Obviously electric cars.
The engine gets more and more pushed into the background. They make them vibrate less, more silent and more efficient. On top of that automatic transmissions are getting forced on to the market like never before taking away another thing that reminded you what propels your car forward.
All that makes it more and more irrelevant for the driver to care about what engine they have under the hood and so the transition to e-cars will be an even less big of a thing for people once they finally go 100% mainstream.
A big example of a brand that forcefully pushes engines into the background is Volvo with their silent inline4 for literally every car philosophy.

They really need to fix the system so car manufacturers can't game it with tiny turbocharged engines.

must be a breeze to work on with a engine this small.
look how giant the engine bay looks and the car itself is quite small already.
>>16756998
I seriously and unironically prefer this sound over the vanilla inline 4cylinder.
